Here is Australia they are banned. Then they replaced them with thicker heavier plastic bags that cost 15 cents. Or you can buy a fabric bag for 1 or 2 dollars. I still see most people using the heavy plastic bags because everyone forgets to bring their fabric bag.

They did it for environment protection reasons, trying to force everyone off plastic bags, Many countries do this now, including Canada, and most of Europe. Plastic grocery bags are actually banned in my city, and you have to pay for paper; 10¢ per bag, I think. There is no charge if you’re using EBT (food stamps) benefits. Most people use cloth bags.

Those chairs would have been a THOUSAND times better had he use old leather (which you can easily source scraps of and patch together), and used an ACTUALLY old shopping cart whose metal is distressed. The one he used is either new, or he used something to restore it. The whole beauty of restoration is seeing that the new object had an old life.
