At 70 I know that skin care cannot do everything. And I 'm too tired and don't have the time to use those non productive microcurrent and radio frequency devices. I've saving my money to get a vertical face lift to book an appointment with you.

Spending $2k with lasers to last several years is more affordable than $80k+ on a facelift. You can only do 2-3 facelist in a lifetime because there's only so much you can stretch your skin.

Haha, Me: I'm officially upset!, JK You: "I think I'm right!"😆 Appreciate your perspective, as always; However I love home devices in between office treatments + skincare 365, ofcourse. All kidding aside.. It's true! Skincare on the daily can do Soooo much to help our 50+ skin reverse course. Due to unprotected sun exposure my skin was very aged at 50. It took me about 7 years of skincare and occasional in office treatments; but at 58 with a great skincare routine in place my skin looks SO much younger than I did at 50....

This is true. I’m 54 and started taking care of my skin five years ago and wearing sunscreen daily. My skin is smoother and pigment is evening out. I look younger than five years ago. I don’t look 40, but you can improve what you have with sunscreen, healthy skin barrier and retinol.

Came across a U-tuber ( everyone knows her, age 61) a few years back accidentally, started her skin care recommended ingredients. Same as what he just said. So they do work with consistency, and my skin is totally transformed from them. I look at side by side photos and it’s pretty remarkable what a difference it makes. Stay out of the sun, and use the ingredients he mentioned. I just may try his soon. Pricey maybe, but if I add up each ingredient bottle to make his magic potion is not that much cheaper anyway. And as far as 90k vertical restore , nope, I would if I could. Doing something is better than doing nothing😊

I’m 51 and I can honestly say with all certainty, I do not need a facelift to the extent that is done with lifting the fascia and multiple layers, my fascia hasn’t slipped yet. I need a very mild facelift very very minimal so that’s another reason I get turned off listening to doctors talk about recommendations because you have doctors that want to and do go in surgery room and do things their way instead of doing it the way that you ask. I’m a firm believer anybody that I have paid for services for anything, do it my way I’m not asking your opinion, I’m telling you what I like we can put our views in opinions together and we in the middle maybe but for the most part, we don’t do things my way, but I feel looks right to me on me. That’s my biggest issue with plastic surgeon.

Not smoking, not being a big or regular drinker, not a sun lover, being on HRT helps too. I don’t want the skin I had in my 30s. It was dry & flaky, damaged skin barrier, prone to breakouts, deep acne scars. Lack of knowledge and access to getting the help & information I needed to do something about it. 59 & my skin is the best it’s ever been. Sure I have wrinkles & still have acne scars (though they’re less deep thanks to micro needling RF) but the skin itself is wonderful: soft & smooth, hydrated & glowy. No lasers or chemical peels just the actives I started using about 3 years ago.

What is your opinion on getting regular facials every 3 months in addition to the at home approach? With a bit of deep cleansing, fruit enzymes, stuff like that?

Do you think sun damage has a bigger effect on aging a lot more than glycation from eating sugar and processed foods

IMO anyone with skincare issues needs to get the GP to send that person to a dermatologist and to take it from there.

If you're in America, it all depends on your insurance. Not all insurance covers dermatologist costs unless it's health related, like possible cancer. Fortunately, it's 2024 and a lot of actual dermatologists have KZbin channels to give advice on skincare routines and solutions.

Dr Karam, I live in Miami, but I am coming to San Diego soon. Is it possible to come see you? ) I’m young 36 years old and don’t have any wrinkles or signs of aging but I wanted to get a consultation on what I should be doing and when I should come see you for procedures 😊

4:46 - We actually start losing collagen after age 20 at a rate of 1% every year, so by age 25, you've already lost 5% collagen. There's a reason 20yos look younger than 25yos even though they are both post-pubescent.
What anti-aging supplements should you take for better skin?
