I'm a natural artist. As a kid, drawing was my kind of breathing. Literally everytime I did not know what to do, I just drew. But I turned depressed at a very early age and I at some point lost interest in it. Now, I am 20, and feel able to return back to myself and I really want to draw as many faces as possible to be able to just scribble a face casually as I always did when I was a child. This is gonna help me so much doing that. Thank you so much

I just wanted to thank you for this tutorial. I hadn't done much drawing in years before this past month, and any time I did, I've had such a hard time with heads/faces, it got me discouraged. Even in the years before, I just didn't have the best sense of the structure. But after watching this, I can't even BELIEVE how quickly it helped me! I've been doing a lot of practice sketches, and the faces/heads are better than I ever remember doing them before! So thank you SO much!! This was so very helpful!! ❤ Tutorials help, people! Never be afraid to learn from them!!
@sixmercer25043 жыл бұрын
This was CRAZY!!! I used different colors for the different lines for each thing like the nose was florescent orange, the circles for the skull were turquoise, the sunglasses area for the eyes were hot pink and the box for the mouth is grass green. Then I did as you did and used black to put in the features (Oh the shoulders and neck on the one from the side are turquoise). It sounds like it would be a huge mess but I used the colors to make key saying what color is for what structure and hmmmm.....if I keep practicing this I will gain so much so fast. And I eat shading out aside from some hair. She looks bonkers but as long as I understand it, hey, my sketchbook is colorful!

This is so helpful, thank you. I've watched countless videos of artists painting portraits on youtube and instagram but they would never, ever show how they drew the face before painting it, which is the most important part of the portrait. I suspect for some of them it's because they trace a photo first. I don't hate tracing, I think it does have a place in art at times but it shouldn't replace having the skills to actually draw well.
