I have been on ozempic and now on Mounjaro. Ozempic made me feel awful but Mounjaro has been wonderful. I’m 52, started at 380 pounds, now at 350. I’m insulin resistant, have arthritis, neuropathy and am a raging diabetic. I started mounjaro and carnivore at the same time. My glucose has gone from 300s to 80. I’ve lost 30 pounds since Christmas. For me, this medication has been a tool to help me eat less and less often. In my case at the rate I was going, I wouldn’t be around long enough to worry about bone or muscle loss as I age. You can laugh about ozempic face but I can spot a person who lost a large amount of weight via gastric bypass a mile away. Any huge weight loss is easy to see when you’re looking. I’m keeping my mounjaro. I’m continuing carnivore and fasting, and incorporating exercise. I track my full body stats on my smart scale and keto mojo every day. This drug has been life changing for me.

It’s quite upsetting to hear many in the carnivore space criticise Ozempic and similar drugs. If, like myself, you are type two diabetic with insulin resistance losing weight is incredibly hard. My husband and I started the carnivore diet together two months ago. He is down 9kg and I am down 1kg. He is never hungry and I am always hungry. His ketones are high, even if he has ‘cheat food’ I never cheat and I’m lucky if I see a light pink ketone stick. It’s so easy to feel deflated when you are trying so hard. I can’t get my prescription for Ozempic as there is an Australian shortage since last October. I am doing all I can to get my blood sugar down, following Dr Boz’s advice which is helping but I really can’t wait to get my Ozempic back.

I agree. I can always spot someone who has had WLS or any other intervention to lose weight. Their proportions are off, lack muscle tone. I lost my weight without aid, like Kelly Hogan, and no one can tell I was ever overweight by looking at me. There is something to be said for natural weight loss. That being said, what's more important than how you LOOK is actually being alive. I'm glad something is available to help you get your health back. You seem to be using it as a Tool, not a crutch. Many people use it as a crutch and they never learn anything. Congratulations on your weight loss! Stay the course. It is soooooo worth it

I knew a wonderful 71 year old man who took ozempic. On it, he often felt bad, but he did lose weight. (He also cleaned up his diet.) Last year he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was dead within a couple months. I am so sorry he passed. I have since wondered if ozempic played a role in this. The long term consequences of taking this drug are unknown.

A few things that should be pointed out here. 1. You can lift weights while on ozempic. 2. Ozempic is about $380.00 delivered from Canada for 4mg. That’s 4 months worth of medicine at 0.25mg. Just ask your Dr to prescribe you the 1mg dose so you can get the bigger pen and then count the clicks (18) to reduce the dose. 3. Your dose doesn’t necessarily need to increase. 0.25mg works well for many people. 4. Loosing weight as a benefit far outweighs the side effects. 5. Any method you use to loose weight you will be stuck with forever. If you stop doing it you will gain the weight back. 6. If you are very worried about muscle loss, you can always take testosterone. It’s 2023 people, we have the technology. 7. People are often using Ozempic because they have tried traditional methods such as keto, fasting, and exercise and have failed or gained the weight back. 8. Don’t just use Ozempic and do nothing else. Improve your diet, lift weights, and use Ozempic and you will kill it. Gif speed.

I completely disagree that the severe side effects and potentially deadly Black box warning side effects are outweighed by the weight loss. There are other ways to lose weight such as the Carnivore Diet that aren't potentially life threatening. You could argue that it's a small percentage, but if you're in that small percentage that gets one of those deadly side effects, you will know it was not worth taking the drug.

US-VAT, the skeletal mass index (SMI), the fat-free mass index (FFMI), waist circumferences, and glycated hemoglobin had lessened after three months and remained stable at T6. No variations in muscle strength, the muscle quality index, and body water were found."

I’ve been using it since last summer and have lost around 22lbs so far. In the UK, its only £120-150 per pen from a private doc. I’ve been keto since 2012 and carnivore since 2018 and still haven’t been able to drop the weight because of binge/purge. It made a huge difference to my life - when I take it bi-weekly, I haven’t had the binge urges in 6mons which is the longest time in my life. I was b/p weekly most of the time and other times it was uncontrollable. Keto didn’t help, carni did initially and I was 3mons without a session. I still workout, am active but never got down to my goal weight of 140lbs (started at 185ish) and O is helping me get there. I had some low key nausea initially but that is gone, only if I eat too much in one meal.

I believe that the study showing a reduction in muscle mass may be flawed. To accurately assess whether the reduction in muscle mass is significant, we need to compare a group of people who achieved the same calorie deficit without exercise to those who achieved the same calorie deficit with the aid of the drug. It is also important that the speed of weight loss is the same for both groups to make a fair comparison.

I was just busy working, had a failure foot surgery and wanted to eliminate inflammation. Bingo! You are brilliant Dr. I have that blasted 10 lbs to lose and was focusing on fat & protein this time. Fresh vegetables and humus doesn't sound keto or anti inflammatory...remember if u aren't producing ketones u r NOT on a ketogenic diet. She stressed concentrating on high fat, moderate protien while trying to lose body fat and later when trying 2 increase muscle mass u can increase protien...she doesn't say eat a good amt of carbs like vegetables and humus...wow humus is HUGE CARBS.

Ozembic only increases insulin production in response to glucose , otherwise this drug would cause hypoglycemia . It also improves insulin sensitivity. I’m not on this drug and I have no vested interest in promoting it , but I think that there are some misrepresentations in this video. This drug is not for the person with ten pounds to lose , but for those with 40 or 50+ pounds, it takes something that was previously almost impossible for many people , to something probable and much less challenging . Most of the significantly overweight people that I know on this drug have lost large amounts of fat ( not just weight) and much of it has been abdominal and visceral .

I appreciate your straightforward message. When I read the headline, I knew without listening what her opinion would likely be. Although she is obviously helpful to some people, especially keto restricted diet, I honestly find her self-absorbed and overly concerned about her dietary restrictions. In that mindset, she would never be one to discuss weight loss for those who are obese or morbidly obese / insulin resistant. Either way, I agree with you that their are those who seem to be getting benefits from semaglutide as a launching point to better health and lifestyle changes that otherwise felt helpless. He wrote a prescription for Olympic. The drug is too costly for me. Im already on 6 prescriptions. He had me on a cholesterol med. I stopped taking it after it causing me muscle pain. I understand your issues through my best friend. She said that after 3 weeks on semaglutide (in nearly all makes) she too felt very ill and had muscle pain. During week 4 she could barely walk or use her arms. She said that it was a few days later she decided to stop the medication due to a significant amount of blood in her urine - likely from her muscles deteriorating from the medication. Good luck to you in your endeavors towards good health & stay safe.

Try the Carnivore or Ketovore diet now and you will lose your cravings for sugar. Search also videos for Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Shawn Baker, to name a few. I was on Ozempic for one month and felt horribly ill. It is Definitely not for everyone and potential life-threatening side effects do not make it worth the risk of taking, especially long-term. Looked just like my uncle who died of Cirrhosis of the Liver. I hesitantly asked how he was doing. He was excited to say he had lost about 90 lbs by drinking diet Dr pepper. I was knee deep in an eating disorder, so was keenly interested in- except for the yellow skin part. I left that company soon after, but wondered how he made out after that… it was quite shocking to see him.

GLP-1 works via TRPV1 that stimulates insulin and capsaicin stimulates TRPV1. Indeed people have taken capsaicin for weight loss but, there are side effects there too such as cardiac issues. TRPA1 is stimulated by garlic, cinnamon, onion and is also part of the glp-1 activity but as usual there are side effects. The low carb diet and intermittent fasting is much healthier to do.

Ozempic is not great for everyone. I took it for one month for diabetes and became horribly constipated. Then afterward researching, I read one man in the forums about the drug said he had to go to the emergency room due to the constipation and the emergency room doctor said if he didn't stop taking it, he'd have to have surgery. So, then I tried Jardiance for a year that did work; however at one year, my hair started falling out and I could never quench my thirst. Now over a year later, I'm finally on the right track doing the Carnivore Diet...more Ketovore as I still drink coffee. Really started it for severe osteoarthritis in my left knee. Now 7 months later, my blood sugar has dropped over 100 pts, I have lost weight... and the severe pain in my left knee is gone... Unless I have an occasional cheat with wheat and grains. If you're thinking about taking Ozempic, please also read the severe black box warnings such as pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer and other things that doctors never want to talk about when they prescribe it.

However, do you ever find it odd that doctors will very quickly look at your BMI and label you “obese” solely using a chart, your height, and weight… BUT when asked about Ozempic and weight loss there is this huge discussion on how you lose weight and what masses of your body contributed to the loss when you take Ozempic. I find this interesting.

No, it is referring to actual loss of lean tissue and water. There is little fat inside muscle. Muscle only has 1.5% of intramyocellular fat, and this can increase to over 5% in the obese. I still think the study is suspect and did not look at confounds like degree of caloric deficit, speed of loss, and whether the people were doing resistance training.

She had 37 the other day, if I remember correctly. Definitely it was under 40. ;)

I am discouraged....I see these BG numbers in 50's?? I have been ketovore for 2 years, OMAD, reversed t2d but my numbers are rarely below 100 :(. Almost zero carb, lost 78 lbs and off all meds except levothyroxine which has been decreased. Age 64

I’m diabetic. If my BG goes below 70 my heart starts racing, I sweat profusely, my entire body trembles. It’s an absolutely horrible feeling! I don’t know how hers is so low and she’s fine. I don’t get it!

My niece is a vegan, not for health purposes but loves animals so as she puts it ... she will not eat anything that comes from the animal kingdom. She needs to loose about 25-30 lbs. Any advice for my 28yr old vegan niece? Thanks in advance.

I’d recommend a vegan keto diet. There is a lovely lady on KZbin called Heavenly Fan who promotes such a diet and has some lovely recipes. Most vegans are high carb low fat which is not good. I personally think animal foods are very importing but I was vegan for seven years so understand the dilemma.

Don’t take it. It makes you sick.

The sickness is mostly due to adaptation to the dose. If you start off low and slowly work your way up the side effects go away. I only felt uncomfortable if I overate so you need to listen to your body!

Even though Kyle on RHOBH protests too much she does seem to have Ozempic face!

Even though the placebo group did not lose much fat in general, it still lost MORE lean mass than fat (while the Ozempic group lost too much lean mass but still less lean mass than fat). This tells me the exercise (resistance training) and diet parameters of both groups were deeply flawed. But not that Ozempic preferential induces muscle breakdown. If anything, it's significant that the percentage weight loss was more from fat in the Ozempic group than placebo. This is from Table 55 that you put up on the screen. We need a real study with different controlled diets and exercise regimens for multiple semaglutide and placebo groups.

If SG doesn't cause autophagy, then how come the scientific literature says that it does? How come it's being studied to improve Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease because, in part, of autophagy?

like, really? do you have to shove something that gross in our faces? talking about the photo representing this video in searches and suggestions etc. the photo is disgusting and I don't need to be seeing that, over and over and over scrolling by and again... there is enough grossness in real life to have places where I go to relax, learn, and better myself to have it AGAIN dragging me down here too. just no. unnecessary. unwelcome. unintelligent. smells like cheap, sleazy advertising, just no good all around.
