I had gestational diabetes. Traces. Typically I had too much fluid and no one knew why I had a lateral lieing baby. He was floating in loads of amniotic fluid and could not engage to be born naturally. I was lucky that he was quite heathy but now he was diagnosed with autism at 27. He was asthmatic too. I tried to have babies laster at 39 40 and 41 but one had Downes and one was miscarried and one didn't develop and I had dAnd c. Shame because I would have been fine to have babies at 20. Where is the he programme about autism?

Just found this video. I have been doing low carb and keto for years and recently became pregnant and told my doctor I did not want to do the glucose test. I did test my glucose 4 times a day and my fasting blood glucose in the morning after only 5 hours of sleep on average was elevated in the 90-100 range (dawn phenomenon). The rest of the day (1hr ppg after eating are also 90-110ish). My doctor is now re-insisting I do the glucose test!! She says my am fbg is too high and shes going to diagnose me on paperwork that I'll have GD. I dont eat any carbs, grains or sugar!! I feel like I have to carb load now for a week before the glucose test now. My a1c is 5.4, insulin 4 and I took the C-peptide IR test, 1.28. Wish you could be my doctor!! My OB AND MfM doc both advise against Keto and super low carb! They won't listen to me!!

Question.. I had gestational diabetes. I have 3 boys, now 20, 15, and 12. I was put on fast acting insulin with the last pregnancy. (He is a very slim boy and doesn't gain weight or grow that fast. Could insulin play a roll in that?) U said in your talk that with gestational diabetes you don't produce enough insulin. Please explain that in more detail. I'm now 47 and very insulin resistance but thankfully not diabetes thanks to keto and low carb but struggle to lose weight. Thanks so much for your information.

I had gestational diabetes . By 45 I was diabetic. . My son weighed 8 lb 3oz but later on went on to be very skinny. And the midwife reported me because the baby was not gaining enough weight. . He has at 27 been diagnosed with autism . I think it is connected. He explains pco is when you produce too much insulin. In our cases we don't produce a lot of insulin.

@@alisonnorcross951 I know I have/had high insulin all my life. I’ve had lots skin tags on my neck starting from a teenager and plenty of signs of hypoglycemia from childhood and up. I now control this with keto/low carb. I do worry about my children and their development of all the same issues I had. They are not (at this point) willing to do keto or even cut back on carbs. They think I’m crazy but some day they will see I pray.

Anyone, please answer, if you know: When are you technically in fasting? Soon as you stop eating your last meal, or 3-5 hours after your last meal?
