I'm team both. I use walgreen's version/dupe of cerave vitamin C serum in the morning. I then use the real deal cerave AM moisturizer with SPF. I have tried the store brand dupes of this and with my older skin I like the thickness of the cerave one over the store brands. At night I use either the actual cerave (purple label jar) night moisturizer or the walgreens version. Both are great to help buffer my tretinoin. I've used the CeraVe knock-off from CVS as a daily moisturizer and I have no complaints, but it doesn't state the percentage of niacinamide in it, or how much of it is in there. For that, I've been using the Sephora brand's "NiaZin" toner ($14), which contains 5% niacinamide plus zinc (listed as the second and third ingredients, after water). I'm not a big fan of toners, and would like a more serum-like product, but for the price, it's definitely a good purchase, in my opinion. Another thing about the liquid consistency is that I feel most of it gets wasted on a cotton pad, so I've been sort of "splashing" it on my face while it's still a bit damp after cleansing, and it's been lasting me a while. Just my two cents. 🙂

Can you assist me and others herein about the comment COFFEE made! They replied to you saying that is why they like using a product with vitamin C Niacinamide. She replied saying GLOBAL BEAUTY. I LOOKED IT UP BUT THERE ARE IS ANOTHER COMPANY I WITH THE SIMILAR NAME. SO I AM TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT. SINCE THE GLOBAL BEAUTY WEBSITE DOES NOT INDICATE INGREDIENTS. I HAD TO SEND A MESSAGE. AND THE OTHER COMPANY NAMED GLOBAL BEAUTY CARE HAS A VITAMIN C WITH NIACINAMIDE BUT ALSO WITJ GLYCOLIC ACID AND LACTIC ACID AND OTHER INGREDIENTS THIS COST $9.99 . PLEASE ADVISED DR. DRAY ALSO WHAT NIACINAMIDE PRODUCT DO YOU SUGGEST FOR THE ARM PITS AND THE FACE. I SEE YOU SAID 5% OF NIACINAMIDE IS SUFFICIENT. PLEASE RECOMMENDED WHAT PRODUCTS. I FOUND A MASK FROM THE BRAND FARMACY BUT IT IS 10% AND I WOULD LIKE PRODUCTS WITH 5%. THANK YOU.🤲

I prefer vitamin c ascorbic acid to niacinamide. But i will use niacinamide again. I like to rotate my skin serums.

I use both, though I might bump up my vitamin c from 10 to 15%

I am a vitamin C User. I do not care about niacinamides. I tried them several times in several different products and they break me out every time. Vitamin C is my holy grail. I use L-ascorbic acid serums and ever since I started using it, I have not experienced dry patches on my skin (which was absolutely normal for me before, especially in cold months). Vitamin C all the way!

Dr. Dray, your skin is beautiful. Do you credit this to your good genes and sunblocks or anything else?

Definitely team N bc it's already in most of my products and not a fan of vitamin C bc it does not mix w Vitamin A stuff like retinoids.
