Hello, everyone! In today's quick video, I addressed a pressing issue that many of you might face: Dread is down. Yes, you heard that right. I discovered this when I tried accessing the site today and found it utterly unreachable, no matter what I tried.
After digging, I stumbled upon a Reddit thread where Hugbunter provided an update on the situation. According to Hugbunter, the core servers at Dread have experienced a significant issue, causing them to crash upon boot. This isn't the result of a denial of service attack but rather an underlying problem looming for a while. Unfortunately, they had opted to postpone dealing with this until now.

The most likely cause of this is because of the update that Tor had. For my understanding there been a few people who had this issue and this was the culprit. I can say that personally I have been on both of the mirrors that dread has and had no issues whatsoever. Obviously this excludes the time when I stated that it went down.

It's relying on donations and ads. I personally have absolutely no idea how much it actually takes in but my assumption would be not much but like I said I don't know much about it either way.

I never use Dread as I always assume it's down. It's worked perhaps 5% of the times I've tried, going back years

Gday Sam Call me a conspiracy theorist but ill say this if a market conveniently exits whilst HB experiences "core server problems" (whatever that means) then Dread is really down because HB sold out to a markets admin for an exit... As i said call me crazy, I dont use DNM anymore but I used to I just like observing the different characters and there actions.... Last time I said this exact kind of thing was when Dread got "ddosed" and its number 1 contributor made the largest exit scam in history (AB, DS ) lets wait and see

Definitely odd considering what hugbunter explained to be the reason. From a technical perspective it isn't necessarily incorrect but software doesn't just fail like that unless written poorly. Additionally, if an edge-case that catastrophic was expected it probably would have been resolved much sooner. If it is a lie I'm not sure your reasoning is correct but it could also be a viable explanation.
