this game has the most underrated intro in the series, but also fun fact about it: in the original 3DS release, Mickey was doing all his composing on the bottom screen while everything was going on in the top screen, and it had some pretty cool moments that aren't in this release, like there being two Mickeys for the Roxas segment and him actually jumping from the bottom screen to the top at the end, you should really check out the original version of the intro at some point in time to see these cool details.

The sync with the impact in the music is what really does it for me. DDD's opening is a really great medley of the series up to that point.

The whole opening honestly gives me chills. The music, the references and appearances of all of the characters, how specific parts hit the beat perfectly (Sora in the pod, Sora and Riku v. Xemnas, Mickey popping up from the bottom of the screen, etc.), it’s all perfect to me. This is why it is one of my top 3

Yep, I'd say this is the start of kingdom hearts "jumping the shark" a little. (maybe odd to say, ik, but right after establishing BBS as the "origins", the next entry takes another step to make the origin of the origin, and that's around the time I started completely loosing track of the ""rules""/story thread).

Now that you are getting close to the end, I recommend that you watch the scenes for Kingdom Hearts Chi but NOT all of Union Cross before doing Back Cover. Everglow's video is the best option as he has it in release-order and will let you know when Chi ends and Union Cross begins. For Union Cross you can either watch the rest after KH3 or up to when a character says "so, it's already begun" as that is the bit that released right before KH3 came out. I recommend that you just wait until after KH3 or even Melody of Memory to finish Union Cross instead of breaking it into two parts. 0.2 should be played right before KH3.

Something that isn't explained in the game is spirit dispositions. Each spirit has 4 and can change when you play eith your spirits. Dispositions determine how they act and what attacks they can use. Certain dispositions will learn new skills at certain levels, so they will get stronger over time.

First and foremost, what a great custom intro! I grew up with Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends With You, so when Dream Drop Distance came out, it was like a dream come true! I'd recommend you play TWEWY; the gameplay isn't as good as the original DS version, but it's still got all the character and heart in the Switch version. I'm so excited to watch you play this and can't wait for more!

The first time i played through this part i was underleveled and kept dropping during the boss fights before i could beat them. Stuck in a loop, unable to escape unless i died or beat the boss. This game also has one of my all time favorite and one of the most unique worlds as well. You'll know what i mean as soon as you arrive. It beat out tineless river from kh2 (black and white world) as my favorite world.

That boss fight you had trouble on, I honestly had a lot of fun with due to having a number of abilities gained from the Dream Eaters by then, though it's easy to see how it'd be hard with the default abilities. You haven't been doing anything with the dream eaters in the menu, so it's easy to see how you've unintentionally made it a lot harder on yourself there.

As much as the game's combat changes, it always evolves from the original in such a way that more time spent in one kingdom hearts title subtly improves your performance in other's. I magically got better at Kingdom Hearts 1 and Chain of Memories after playing Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance

Honestly gameplay wise I think dream drop distance might be my favorite due to how much you can customize stuff and how versatile battles are between links, dream eaters, flowmotion. It also helps the level designs look awesome in every world.

HYPE HYPE HYPE!! I played this game on the 3DS and I love the combat system so much, nothing has come close to the flowmotion system yet in my opinion. I would suggest paying close attention to the cutscenes (especially the story ones) since it's easy to miss details sometimes that make it so much easier to understand the situation. But I have no doubt you'll be able to follow along just fine, you seem to know the story very well so far. DDD is a fun game for sure, enjoy it!! I'll definitely be waiting for the next part :D

This is my favorite side game of the Kingdom Hearts series. I enjoy BBS and the story for 358/2. But this game was a trip. And I normally don’t go for pet sim mini games, but I did enjoy the Dream Eaters. I’m going to play again on Proud and transfer the Spirits I already obtained.

The people who made this game were really upset that so many people missed out on commands in Birth by Sleep, which were meant to be the main system of progression and a replacement for KH2’s blue abilities. So for DDD, commands are found in BIG chests. You get them as rewards for diving. No exp or melding. They even got rid of reaction commands to make it all as easy as possible to understand. Then they tied your very important passive abilities (the green section in KH2) to the pet sim and gave an incomprehensible tutorial on how to get them, proving they learned absolutely nothing.

Commands are found in chests in BBS too (even 2slot commands ;) but only matter when players actually install commands they found in chests into their deck to try em out ;) ;) Not that any of our advice/tip comments will matter anymore coming soon... He announced on twitch 13 hours ago that all the powertripping twitchmods will be made yt mods now to shadowban all the mean hurtful comments these days, but you know they're gonna gleefully shadowban ALL advice not just genuinely mean insults >_>
