@@guyman2134 I was thinking yes it is a trip and basic obstacle challenge, but nothing wrong with a completely sealed storage room ,no mice etc. But they do make doorsweeps for this too. Yes I'd change that frame or modify it.👍

Continuous ridge vents are not recommended for tornado/hurricane areas and typically cause water intrusion

Home Depot has giant ceiling fans (96”) for industrial use. They range $500-$900 each and have 6-9 blades. Meant for large spaces with higher ceilings. Something to think of. It would be worth it and they wouldn’t be noisy like other fans.

I think you might want to have the electrician back out to wire up some ceiling fans to help circulation in the shop. That would help to draw in the cooler air from outside without the noise from the big fan... And maybe an a few solar attic fans to vent out the trapped heat from the very top of the ceiling. It's better working comfortable than being miserable in the high temperatures. Shop is looking great! But, make sure to get in that MOST important family time too.

Checking vertical members like studs, it's called "plumb". Checking horizontal members like plates is called "level". Also, before you use your nail gun, always put a drop of oil down the hole where the air hose connects. Looks great, Puddin'!!!!!

Moving forward,easy on the gas now, sit back, watch the scenery of life with a dab of work here and there. Time to enjoy some of the family life too. One word (BALANCE). Work and life. Won't enjoy either one if you dead, make life worth it to fit YOU. Dude you are entitled to be able to spend time with your family and don’t let anybody ever tell you different. Im glad to see you taking the time to spend with your family.but as far as the house goes right now it’s a big house. Give it time in a few years you will have filled it up with furniture and odds and ends, then before you know-it the house will seem like a perfect fit and your kids. I've been on dialysis for almost 20 years now and although I'm not diabetic, I've got neuropathy really bad and it causes the bones to deteriorate and I developed a severe bone infection which got itself attached to every tendon in my hand so, along with losing my middle finger, I was cut down through my hand and about 6 inches up my arm. Dr told me it's the worst infection he's ever seen

Great Video Exhaust Fan Tip During Heat Wave: Put it on a Timer or Thermostat Switch. Run it when it is cooler outside(at Night w/door or window cracked) In the morning, keep the shop closed until the temp inside is same as outside. 🏁

I know I am a little late to the channel but I am so very proud to see you showing success is still possible with hard work and dedication to God and your family. I actually got a little choked up as you were cleaning out the old shop. I found your channel recently as I wound up boogering up my spine something awful. I have been a firefighter for many years and am less than a year from retirement, aint that always the story? I dont even have a cool story to go with it. Was on structure fire and was operating on the side with another Lieutenant and slipped in the mud. I wasnt saving 30 orphans and 4 nuns as the roof collapsed on us, causing me to dig us out with a dinner spoon, nope. I slipped in the mud and twisted wrong and now am one bad move from a wheelchair. Only me. I say that only because I wanted to find an old vehicle upon retirement and try to fix it up for me and my grandkids to enjoy riding around and acting cool. Watching your, and other channels, has helped me while I try to retain what I have. Not a sob story, so please dont get me wrong on this. I would not do a single thing different in my life. I have been blessed to be able to help others when they are in great need. Only thing I would change is being more careful during the times we let our guard down on an incident. Keep up the good work and keep moving forward. Thank you for sharing this journey and giving an old firefighter some laughs and some sentimental moments. May God continue to bless you and your family.

You brought back memories of 1980's days when my factory was starting up and we were constantly rearranging the Maintenance Shop. By 1992 we had started up two more on Chanute AFB. Glad to see you getting moved in to your house and your shop!
