In the videos/screen recordings she went through the steps from the convos she was showing all the way to his Snapchat etc, so there was no doubt it was him. In the convos he was asking her (a minor) for lewd/nude pictures, commenting sexually on regular pictures she was posting publicly, talking to her sexually & asking her to reply in the same way, etc. She also had screen recording of DM's with him on his Instagram, where he was the same way. He did respond to her on Twitter, stating he had believed she was 18 the whole time & therefore he did nothing wrong.

It’s at least in large part due to ignorance and impressionability and not blind faith in whatever Charlie says. If you look at the moist charlie clips video of him going over a snippet of Dream’s response, the comments section is absolutely digging into Charlie for how poorly he handled it. Tbh this is why I hate drama channels like this. He posts a video that spreads misinformation (unknowingly, but it’s still bad), doesn’t take it down when the allegations are proven false, and never properly covers the evidence proving it false. Then millions of people see a video about the allegations, read almost exclusively comments condemning Dream, and never hear that it’s been proven false, so they go the rest of their lives with a tarnished opinion of Dream. Then because Charlie posts so many videos, people forget about this one, so he recovers little to none of the backlash that a normal youtuber would.

TLDR Warning 😂 I could not find Charlie’s original video talking about dream and his “thirst trap photos“ or parasocial relationships. I also could not find Charlie’s reaction to Dreams truth response. I think it was on Twitch so that’s why it’s gone I’m unsure. But I have to say, and I never thought this would happen, I’m not even a dream fan and I adore Charlie so I never thought that I would be disappointed in him. But here we are. I guess it’s good that he owned up to the ridiculous thirst trap accusation. But he kept saying that he was “disappointed“ that dream didn’t respond to his bigger thoughts on parasocial relationships. I’m listening to Dreams video again and he absolutely does. He actually talks about how he has always handled his relationships with fans and Stans. I’m only mentioning this at all, because I’m re-watching all of the videos and I’m just floored at how disappointed I am. I’ve never seen Charlie double down like this when he’s clearly in the wrong. I guess it doesn’t matter. It’s just one of those situations where You think you have a good idea of someone and you’re let down. It doesn’t really change anything. I am still a Charlie fan. Not necessarily related to Charlie's take, but I think if we're going to go after Dream for posting normal pictures of his face or even wanting to look good in his photos as problematic or it being weird because of his audience's age, you're going to have to dismantle the entire music and movie industry who targets pre-teens with attractive boys who are older than them. People like the Dolan Twins existed for years, whose target audience was solely teenage girls who thought they were attractive. They would of course play to this angle and provide some level of fan service for these underage girls, but they were never criticized or considered 'predatory,' yet Dream is because of the stigma around the Minecraft community and the deep hatred Twitter has for this dude, and he isn't even trying to thirst trap or look attractive for an underage female audience. Dream is a guy who grew up with a weight issue and immediately upon revealing his face to the public got called hideous, I'm sure he wants to also improve his image by posting pictures other than what is shown in his face reveal. Is it really unreasonable for him to post pictures in which he actually looks good? Does that make him a creep? I don't think so personally.
