I am currently in recovery from a substance use disorder and i can testify that addictions often do become your entire personality. One of my biggest fears when I was first trying to quit was that I was nobody without drugs. I had no other hobbies, aspirations, or interests for so long. My addiction was literally my entire life. It was all I thought about and all I did. I had accepted that I would most likely OD at a young age, and that would just be it. Going into recovery, you have to really figure out who you are and why you're here.
