Gosh - Do you realize the brilliance of this tutorial is overshadowed by that insanely sick table the Thermaltake was on?? That's unreal!

Too Cool man. You've got a fun looking job. I used some of your tips on my first build. Modding is tremendously gratifying. I'd look the paint job for hours on end before even I put anything in it. Very informative videos.

im not even really into case modding but i learned quite a lot from this video, the 45 degree dremel technique for circular or curved cuts, saving worn cutoff discs, etc. Anyways nice video, will sub (this is the first video of yours ive watched.

Thanks again for the video. I love watching and learning from people, such as yourself. :-) I changed jobs, not so long ago, now I'm working in a store that sells a lot of great stuff I could use for customising, such as the "U" (or "C") shaped rubber for putting over sharp edges. I'm learning a lot of tips from the tradies (proffessional tradespeople) who come in to buy stuff from us. :-)

Thanks for useful tips! Indeed, a good rotary tool is a modder's weapon of choice. I also think that small milling cutters (Dremel attachments) are good in some cases.

Very impressive work with a cutting wheel bit. Have you ever considered using the scroll saw attachment for cutting out shapes more easily?

I know this is an old comment, but if you haven't already got your answer... Turn it down...I have a different one (Wizard?), but notice it chews up the discs more than the metal the faster the speed it's on. I set mine to speed 1 or 2 (on a 1-10 scale) and it cuts way better, and one disc has lasted me thru the whole mod (I've cut everything up on the side, front, bottom, and inside). Compared to 5 discs I went thru on a 7in cut on high speed...lol.

@VincentBProductions The plexi is engraved from one side and then has a color tin foil on the back I think. Unless you have a CNC or something I really dont think that you can do it at home. Another option would be search ebay for a company that does it and then just pay someone else to do it and tell them the design that you would want on it and go that route.
@jublywubly15 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tutorial. :-) My black Thermaltake "Suprano" case already has a big window in the side, but if I were to mod a case, I'd probably go one further by using some fine sand paper wrapped around an oval needle file, grit facing out of course, to finish off the edging of cuts. Then match the satin black paint of the original case with a can of spray paint or better still, an air brush. :-)

Where's part 4? Finally some of modding with a Dremel!!!
@bazzatron66611 жыл бұрын
Not really sure what you're referring to, but he cleans up the burred edges with the rounded side of a half-round file, cleans away the dust and debris using a wipe (probably an ISO alcohol wipe, you can get these for cleaning screens most anywhere - but don't get the really cheap ones - they suck!) and finally adds some U-channel edging, this hides the exposed metal, you could probably get away with gluing heat shrink tube here, it's all about hiding the crimes! :)
@UH82NVME14 жыл бұрын
@VincentBProductions Just to let you know...Dremeling the plastic is kinda hard because with mine it kept trying to melt the plastic instead of cut it. So be cautious and try it out in the middle of a piece your cutting out first. Good luck.

Hi, I like the tutorials. Have you tried using diamond cutting wheels? I would be interested to know how they compare to the ones you use. I have cut holes in stainless steel sheet with them.
@RonzuGaming13 жыл бұрын
i would replace those hand tools with dremel grinding bits. for example aluminium oxide stone those are found in many shapes and sizes so they'll fit in those little holes and sharp curves too. ( With those remember not to push too much aluminium oxide is pretty soft and will wear out in seconds if you push it too much into sharp edge... at least in china copies of dremel ;) just bought my first real dremel after third china copy starting to melt/smoking/firing while cutting/grinding metal)

@VincentBProductions I guess it depends on what kind of things your into. I dont know you or what games you like so its hard for me to say something that you would like. I think just a random design that I drew up worked well for me. Doing the LED's in it look pretty sharp to. You can buy them on ebay for VERY cheap. Only thing with those is there very small and hard to sodder. I used the Krylon Fusion paint. But be careful it takes a couple days to cure. Well mine did I put about 4

hey bill i wasnt sure where to ask this so im asking on this vid, it kindof fits :p im just wondering if its worth cutting or dremeling out the square mesh type thing which goes over the exhaust fans on my thermaltake spedo case on the back, and then using a fan grill just for safety? im thinking in terms of noise and also airflow thanks in advance

Ever use a deburring tool instead of filing? If so, why did you decide to continue using files instead of the deburring tool?
