What else do you need to know other than they are toxic to the body even in "moderation"? I love that term, "everything in moderation". I guess that means cyanide is okay too as long as it's in moderation. I wasn't sure If I can do that diet as I was so addicted to fizzy drinks and chocolates, potatoes but I was surprised from day one how I'm not missing those things anymore. I am not a fat person but I just felt like being control by the food. We would be out somewhere and I would be thinking If have enough food or where Can I grab some food. It was affecting my mood. Now all the cravings have stopped and I feel so good about myself. Plus is much cheaper for me on keto as I do not buy processed food in enormous quantity.

I'd guess that about 90% of the packaged foods at most grocery stores - even so-called "health food" stores - contain sugar! I gave up sugar years ago and I always check labels. There are literally dozens of aisles in the stores that I never even go down. I haven't eaten soy oil for decades, gave up corn oil and canola oil quite a while back, etc. Honestly, when we cut out the crap, we can only mostly shop on the "outer aisles" - produce, etc. Luckily I already did the research and label reading a long time ago so I don't have to keep doing it. By the way, what do you know about seed oils? I think the omega 6 is too high in them so avoid them and go with the olive oil and put room-temp oil on my food to avoid heating the oil.

If you have a Trader Joe's near your then I would check them out - you can kind a lot of keto-friendly foods there for normal supermarket prices. I think I pay $3.99 or $4.99 in Boston -- and I'm in the city so it's more expensive usually. Making your own with just olive oil, egg, mustard, lemon, and salt is also a good option. It can be a little tricky to get the mixing right, but even if you mess up you still have salad dressing!!

i hope you see this or somebody who needs: fruits, for example bananas that are small and have brown little spots, apples without wax on the outside, (if you are unsure if its a good fruit, buy it, still better than candy, see how you feel after eating it), gluten free oatmeal, NO MILK, buy some cashew milk, almond milk but look at the indgriedients, should have water, the nut you'd like, some salt, no oil no chemicals. some veggies, try to find good fish (no aquaculture), NUTS (oz a day is perfect and not expensive over long time). Thats what i eat on a daily to live healthy and putting on muscle. if you want more protein, use hemp protein, should just have hemp nothing else. make that shake with the nut milk and a banana and some curcuma with a dust of pepper, works magic. If you want to detox use MSM in pure form, its the best known detoxer and its 100% natural, i put it in my water and eat one or two clementines with it, the natural vitamin c helps the body to absorb it better. Try to use not much olive oil while cooking, it has omega 6 and its healthy but only if you use little of it. (more omega 3 than 6). And use curcuma on every occasion you can, always with some pepper to let its power happen to you :) and use pink himalayan salt ! no white salt for the rest of your cooking life

Dr. Berg, this is what is the most difficult about trying to eat healthy. Being able to choose healthy foods is so difficult. Do you have a book or a guide that explicitly, clearly, and in an organized manner informs us about what to eat and what NOT to eat. Your videos are very good, but I am (and I would think others too) “old school” where I like to have a physical medium which I can refer to repeatedly. There is so much information out there, especially on KZbin, that it is very difficult to wade through all of it to get accurate, clear, EXPLICIT, information in an ORGANIZED way to help us make good, informed decisions regarding our diets.

So you really put in a lot of work and time in the beginning but it pays off in the end. A couple of weeks ago I checked the labels of every single brand of mayo at a large supermarket. ALL of them had vegetable oil, but then I went into the refrigerated section and lo & behold, I found a brand that makes three kinds of mayo, one of them made with just extra virgin olive oil. Some brands mix olive oil with vegetable oil, but I want 0 vegetable oil in my food, thank you very much. Needless to say, I have been enjoying way too much mayo ever since then! 😂 I might be in need of a mayo detox 🙈

Skin care starts on the inside. Avoiding all the processed high carb food is a great start. Diet change (LCHF), staying hydrated plus occasional use of coconut oil or olive oil on my skin is all I ever need :)

My local supermarket has a seemingly endless quantity of fake "creamers" of one kind or another, but rarely has any actual, genuine cream. And on the rare occasion when they do have real cream, it's typically got added carageenen, which I don't want. The only brand without it is Clover, and it's rarely in stock. I'm drinking a cup of coffee with my last bit of real cream, and savoring every bit because I don't know when I'll be able to get more. Meanwhile I can buy blue Gatorade whenever i want, which is never.

Eliminating ALL processed food and drink would be a HUGE step in the right direction! NO GMOs. Dr. Berg has often said that if it comes in a package, box or bag, DON'T eat it. Just those things would save you steps and time because you wouldn't be shopping the center of the store. Just doing the very first thing would make a big difference!

Sometimes reading the label means nothing. Take honey for instance, it says honey but it is corn fructose syrup. I don't know how they get away with it.

Yes, they do! There are more and more food scams out there. Cinnamon is another one. They found that a good many of the cinnamon in the stores was nothing but fine saw dust with cinnamon flavoring and dye. These reports just aren't well publicized. If we are going to eat honey, it should be raw, unfiltered, LOCAL honey. For people who have seasonal allergies, they should start around November-December and consume a Tablespoon of raw, local honey every day. When Spring allergy season rolls around, their normal allergy symptoms won't appear at all or will be minor compared to the years before they started using the honey as a preventative. The reason for using local honey is because the bees frequent local plants. Eating the local honey builds up antibodies to the offending plants, so to speak.

It's not in the long run! Saves you on medical needs. And if you're eating well you don't need to eat as much so you may find it levels out. That's the case for me - I eat really well now and only need 2 meals a day instead of 3 meals and 2 - 3 snacks. When I changed over it was more expensive but when I settled in to the changes it was about the same price, and I feel soooo much healthier, skinnier, happier. Worth it.

@@sld1776 - You ABSOLUTELY need to worry about GMO and pesticides. Glyphosate (active ingredient in Roundup) is used for all soy and corn grown in the US, and it is implicated in all sorts of health problems, including autism which is skyrocketing.
