Dr Berg notes on this leaky gut episode: A very thin, single layer of cells acts as a barrier between the inside and the outside of your intestines. The intestines provide protection and absorption of 90 percent of all your nutrients. They also contain a mucus layer, microbes, and 80 percent of your immune system. Medical professionals typically recommend increased soluble fiber intake to fix leaky gut when you should actually do the opposite. The carnivore diet is the best leaky gut diet. More fiber creates more inflammation. Medical professionals also do not point to diet as a primary cause or solution of a leaky gut. Most diseases are triggered by something in your gut, which has everything to do with your diet. Broad-spectrum antibiotics can also affect gut health. Tampering with your gut microbiome can have serious consequences. You need the microbes in your gut to help you digest, and you don’t want them to become pathogenic. Glyphosate is an herbicide sprayed on most GMO and conventional foods patented as an antibiotic, so it has an antibiotic effect on your body. Whole grains are also recommended, but they can wreak havoc on a leaky gut and cause an immune reaction. Seed oils are another major contributor to leaky gut. Here are seven signs of a leaky gut: 1. Abdominal pain, cramping 2. Constipation, diarrhea 3. Fatigue 4. Brain fog 5. Mood issues, anxiety 6. Skin inflammation 7. Autoimmune diseases When you have an autoimmune response, your body considers normal tissues foreign or pathogenic. If your body sees your thyroid as an invader, your thyroid will become inflamed. This is known as Hashimoto’s and starts with inflammation and a leaky gut. The carnivore diet for a few months can help repair a leaky gut by removing the foods causing inflammation. Glutamine and glycine can also help with leaky gut repair. Thank you Dr Berg! 😺👍

I have a very similar story, we had mold in a house we just moved into. I knew something was off when I was wheezing at night when laying down, I never had that before. We looked and found a window that was not installed properly so the rain just poured right in for years. We ripped the entire room out, new windows, walls sills and flooring. Then we went room by room gutting each room over the next 3 years. We only found one other small mold issue. Thankfully my husband is handy. We ate raw for 6 weeks and just needed more, we still do daily green smoothies and 50% raw. We also did anti-fungal meds we got from a walk in clinic. Its been 5 years since moving in and we are healthy with no issues. Even through the lock downs! God Bless.

Before I was diagnosed with leaky gut, I had started eating only lean meats, vegetables, and occasional fruit. Even as i was eating "healthy", I was suffering from a severe form of histamine intolerance (caused by toxic mold in a house we immediately vacated) where every day I would have multiple episodes that consisted of diarreah, hot flashes, crazy high heart rate, dizziness, nausea, itchy eyes, sometimes a tingly tongue/lips. After nearly collapsing and having a psychotic break (i nearly started screaming uncontrollably from how severely my body was responding) from a really severe episode caused by eating a piece of jackfruit, my husband told me to go carnivore. I would do anything to never have an attack like that again. I have been eating carnivores for only four days, and those episodes gradually softened. Today was almost a normal day, and I am shocked and so grateful i took his advice. You are providing life-changing information, Dr. Berg. since 10+ year I have been living in enormous emotional stress and I have developed IBS and later on hemorrhoids, enormous problems in the gut, allergies, malabsorption, tiredness, insomnia, anxiety, heartache and in consequence adrenal fatigue and the list went so long that I entered a terrible loop of being worried about my life. I gave up on toxic relationships, I started to prioritize my peace, sleep, hydration, taking nap during the day, doing massages, 18-20/6-4 intermittent fasting, liver cleansing with milk thristle, wormwood, no processed food, pure meat and veggies/fruits, fresh food only, omega-3, natural vit C, berberine, resveratrol, magnesium, sodium butyrate, colostrum, as I live in Poland and we have a great tradition of food fermentation I took the advantage of it. My gut started to heal. Thank you for all videos dr Berg, even though I am a biomedical PhD, so I know a lot about biology and nutrition - I always watch your videos and it keeps me going. All I want to emphasize is: PLEASE, take into account your emotional issues and stress or toxic environment - all that really keep all the issues being generated and even we take care of diet, we cancel all effort we try to put into the process of healing. I got Leaky Gut around the young age of 16. Absolutely wild that this could happen to someone so young. My diet was pretty terrible when I was younger. I was eating all sorts of processed crap full of gluten and seed oils, and I didn't understand how to be healthy. I played a lot of sports so I think my parents just thought it was fine for me to eat all that bad food because I would "burn it off anyways." I had lots of acne and skin issues, and doctors prescribed me Accutane, which I suspect totally destroyed my gut. I had Leaky Gut, Candida, Parasites,.. all sorts of stuff. My gut bacteria was very imbalanced. It took me 13+ years to figure out what was going on and how to fix the issues. Thankfully, I'm now 35 and I have consistently clear, glowing skin. I've done blood work and stool tests and now know that my gut is in fairly good shape. I still have to avoid certain foods (A1 Dairy, Seed Oils, artificial sweeteners, thickening agents, etc) but it's all manageable now. Gut issues can be tough to fix! What a journey. Keep fighting.

OMG. You're literally a genius Dr. Berg. So here's what I want to say. I am 38 now. I was born with allergies (dust and tree pollen) as I was born in the city which has the highest pollen count in the world. Born with blocked tear holes by the way. Allergies were not understood by my parents and they believed I had some evil eye or black magic or demon possession ongoing, even though a ENT specialist told my dad that this kid had dust allergy when I was 12. So, rewind a lil bit. From my early childhood my mom was giving us raw COW milk (as we had a cow) so from age 5 to 15 I consumed raw cow milk. On top of mouth breathing due to allergies I got some serious gastro issue when I was ony 11 and initially thought to have some ulcer but was finally diagnosed with INTESTINAL INFLAMMATION and got very good after being treated for that. The diet that genius who terated me at age 11 had almonds with pure butter (breakfast), vegetable curry with only black pepper and salt (lunch) with flat bread followed by fruits and (a must) and then finishing off that curry with spoon without bread at dinner. Then as I was not on allergy medicine for decades I finally got worse in 2018 breathing wise and mouth breath a lot in 2018 summers after an asthematic allergy attack and got GERD out of it. The reason why I called Dr. Berg a genius is that tomorrow is my apoointment with a gastroenterologist and I watched this vid for a better discussion and I am SHOCKEd to know that I actually have all SEVEN symptoms :( which are [abdominal pain (4 years), constipation diarrhea, fatigued (increasing yearly), brain fog (need to confirm), change in mood (very mild), skin issues (vitiligo and skull dandruff baldness), autoimmune disease]. Now here's what I want to add and may help others: Please pay attention to AUTOIMMUNE diseases. I got VITILIGO in 2014 after not paying attention to allergies at all and not worrying about gut health. Vitiligo is the end of the glory road you are on, So do not have it. GERD is also not something to have. If you mouth breath and have allergies and gut issues (gastro) please go see a doctor like Dr. Berg before it is too late :) I also have now pain in upper right shoulder (backside) and neck pain from 20 years and symptoms that indicate towards bile again Dr. Berg's vid helped me lot to understand those and now I can discuss these better tomorrow !

This is good and valuable information. Honestly if you get in tune with, and listen to your own body, it will tell you what to eat. Certain foods will bloat or cramp you when you eat it. You can feel it disturb your digestive system. For me eating clean vegetables and fruit help my digestive tract. Also drinking more water (recommended amount) to flush my system.

I was on the carnivore diet for 3 months and it did nothing for my healing. I just read a book called The Tiger Protocol and he talks about the importance of fiber in healing the gut and aims for essentially as much as you can get. I would love to know your take on his research… Trying to find healing and keep getting steered in different directions.

Hi I have severe constipation. Functional dyspepsia and I suffer on a daily. I can't get out of bed & I hardly eat bcz I'm scared of the pain. I've spent a fortune on consultants, supplements & other treatments with no success. I watched a video today & he said it's bcz of leaky gut issues & to take a soil based probiotic or both pre & pro biotic which should contain Lactobacillus paracasei Bifidobacterium breve Bifidobacterium longum and get omega 3. I'm going to start these and hope for the best 🙏

Great show! I have had my leaky gut tested every year for 3 years now. I do vibrant intestinal permeability test. It keeps getting better but still says I’m moderate. I’ve given up gluten, dairy, corn, wheat and all processed foods. I haven’t eaten any of these in 3 years.. I have now given up Almond flour because I feel that could be the problem. I don’t think I can eat all carnivore and also our meat can be bad too. They feed and inject the animals with antibiotics as well. Make sure you buy pasture raised pasture finished.

I completely reversed a *severe asthmatic response to histamine* in 6 months by IF and prolonged (3- to 5-day fasts, mostly water fasts and a few soft dry) and overhauling my diet to be mostly low carb and all whole omnivorous, organic (for the most part) foods. I assumed that meant I healed my leaky gut, but I still have rosacea (skin disorder) and I can't eat eggs - those are the only symptoms on this list I have. I'm completely befuddled. P.S. Maybe I've not been careful enough to eliminate eggs completely from my diet and that's causing my rosacea. But why am I still sensitive to ANY food if I've healed my leaky gut? Can you have food sensitivity _without_ leaky gut?!

Hi, Dr. Berg! Can you do a video explaining why certain tissues are specifically targeted in an autoimmune disease? For instance, I have a rare autoimmune disease called Takayasu’s arteritis. It targets my large arteries - aorta, carotid, renal, subclavian… why did my body choose to create antibodies against those areas specifically? Do specific food allergens correlate to that tissue? Thank you for all of the wonderful information! It is incredibly helpful… God bless you…
@Wendy-Frazier3 ай бұрын
@goodybaker9483 I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with Takayasu’s arteritis Autoimmune diseases, like Takayasu’s, are complex, and why certain tissues or organs are targeted can vary from person to person. In your case, the immune system is mistakenly attacking large arteries, which can lead to inflammation and narrowing of those vessels. While the exact cause isn’t always clear, research suggests that sometimes gut imbalances could, in theory, play a role in how the immune system becomes dysregulated, though more research is needed to fully understand those connections. Working on gut health, reducing inflammatory triggers, and addressing any potential food sensitivities can sometimes provide relief or at least help manage symptoms. Are you still suffering?

Sadly some people have big problems digesting meats, like me. No matter how it's cooked or if it's organic. Also I can't tolerate ox bile, betaine HCL or digestive enzymes. So I can't do carnivore, if I don't want to feel like crap all the time. So the only way has been to heal my gut with other ways like bone broth fast and/or juicing. And of course avoiding all problematic foods like grains, dairy, nighshades etc. I was eating tons of quinoa for a decade because I thought it's healthy but as I'm gluten sensitive I discovered this "grain" can be a huge problem for many people and cause leaky gut. So I finally got rid of all grains.
@PandorasCrate08 ай бұрын
The problem with the carnivore diet is it is extremely expensive. Especially now with inflation. I was on it for a few months, but it just wasn't sustainable. I couldn't find a way to make it cheaper without going for the worst antibiotic filled meats and processed meats.
@JessG_208 ай бұрын
But aren't the veggies or plant based products you're eating also sprayed with glyphosate and other crap? Imo and as someone who has severe IBS, a cheap carnivore or low carb diet is still the better option.
@PandorasCrate07 ай бұрын
@@JessG_20 I think that depends on where you're getting them, same with the meats. To get something that isn't riddled with all the pesticides and hormones is more than twice the cost in some cases. And inflation is just making it worse. For example, I go to the store to get a cut of meat, a single steak, not too large, is still around $16 for the just-okay-stuff. That same size piece of meat free of all the hormones automagically jumps to $18-$20. That's a lot to spend on one person for one meal. It's cheaper, and encouraged in todays society, to eat like shit.
