On the 1st of July I weighed 273lbs, (124kg) (19st 7lbs), my blood pressure was 150/90 and my resting pulse 80. I started intermittent fasting and keto, I eat a large salad and a protein at around 5.00pm followed by a 5%fat natural yoghurt with seeds, nuts and a few berries. I decided only to weigh myself once a month and today I weighed 254lbs so I lost 19lbs (9kg) in the month, my resting heart beat is 59 and my BP 110/70. I'm looking forward to the 1st September for my second weigh in 😊 I'm a 60 year old male 6 feet tall

@@markhamilton3215 my explanation. But better ask Dr Berg.🙂 Keto is the fuel that our body used to run on before we started to eat sugar and grains. It is fatburning instead of sugarburning. Ketosis gives energy! Sugarfood is unhealthy for your body. Keto clears your head and body. Sugar makes you sick and swollen. Keto helps you live your life to the fullest. Throw out the sugar and carbs. Eat like the Vikings used to eat - meat, fish, birds, eggs, nuts, berries, green leafs etc. Its really very simple! Just think about the Vikings foods and you'll be ok. Foods filled with A, D, E, K1 and K2.

I really liked the part of the video near the end when you told about your personal experience with low vitamin D. Absolutely love your channel! If you or anyone could kindly advise: I’m doing two meals a day. 11am/Midday: raspberries, pomegranate, blueberries, pumpkin seeds, sometimes with pineapple and a table spoon of coconut oil. 6/7pm: 3 eggs cooked w/ black sesame seeds on coconut oil, 1 Avocado, 2 cucumbers, green peppers, green onion, boiled green beans and carrots, half a head of garlic, pumpkin seeds, cilantro and coriander, chilli peppers and topped with olive oil and/or apple cider vinegar. (Incredibly filling!) No snacks, nothing in between other than water w/ turmeric and ginger, a little honey and clove water. Will add wormwood tea shortly. 1 hour a day of basketball followed by 1 hour of callisthenics w/ yoga stretches. The goal is to cleanse the body whilst being able to gain muscle. Also I’m skinny, 35yo, 6”3 - 77kg The question is - is this sustainable? What am I missing potentially. Thank you in advance!

Looks like missing omega 3 and eggs (I’d say minimum 4 for one’s choline needs. Especially if physically active, I have seen many men eat daily 10-15 eggs a day). Salt & potassium. Some sea foods for trace minerals. Some beet root tops for potassium. I’d loose the carrots and replace them by a massive dark salad like lamb’s lettuce. I suggest you check vitamin d & omega 3 levels at least.

The best foods to get all of your fat-soluble vitamins: 1. Egg yolk 2. Cod liver oil 3. Fatty fish 4. Fish eggs 5. Liver and organ meats 6. Poultry fat 7. Shellfish 8. Cheese and cream 9. Butter Fat-soluble vitamins penetrate the cell membrane, go into the nucleus, and then connect with receptors that activate certain genes. Water-soluble vitamins are more like coenzymes or helper molecules that don’t go that far into the nucleus of the cell. You need fat to absorb fat-soluble nutrients. For example, you might add olive oil to your salad to extract nutrients. If you take a fat-soluble vitamin as a supplement, it’s important to take it with a meal or add a little bit of oil or fat to it to increase absorption. The absorption of fat-soluble nutrients is also dependent on bile. An unhealthy gallbladder or liver will diminish your bile and diminish your absorption of fat-soluble nutrients. Gut damage can also inhibit absorption. Not only do fat-soluble vitamins have a lot of amazing health benefits, but they also help you absorb certain minerals. When consuming foods rich in fat-soluble vitamins, try to get pasture-raised, grass-fed products. Thank you Dr Berg!! 🐱👍🏿

*_When it comes to shellfish, it's even better if you use the shells for a broth and drink that broth or add it to food(sauces, etc.). You can freeze it and it should last 3-6minths in your freezer(if not longer?)._* *_What I have wondered about is....could dehydrated, blended, pulverized shells be a good idea to add to soups, sauces, etc. could this actually be a very good idea? We just throw away the shells, but they do contain copious amounts of nutrients?_* *_If you have ever had King Crab or Lobster and boiled the shells for a broth, you know what I am talking about._* *_Boiling, dehydrating(and thus sterilizing) eggshells, blending them to a powder and adding 1/2 teaspoon to you food each day is the best calcium you can get. I have lost my hair in the back of my head. I am devastated. I have recently bought your hair formula. I'll give it a chance but it is extremely gasses for me. I am a keto woman and have been for about 4 years now. Honestly though I have gotten on a peanut butter kick and cashews. Could this be one cause for my hair loss? I am now 61 and going through changes that are not welcomed at all. Thank you Dr Berg and I just got over Covid.

I learned so much from this video. Why exactly I crave and prefer to eat chicken thighs instead of eating other types of meat and fish. Nothing ever came close to the taste and health benefits of a very fatty, freshly cooked and fat dripping chicken thigh. To have your body tell you to specifically go for chicken thighs above all else is one thing but to learn why exactly I was so right all this time makes this learning experience so much more satisfying for me. I always had good judgement. I also craved fats not necessarily butter but fats in general for example pistachios or pork chops.

What time during the day do you suggest to wear no sunscreen ? To make vitamin D from the sun. And how long???
@experimenthealthyketo83
@experimenthealthyketo83 2 жыл бұрын
I can tell you that I used to burn within 30 minutes of sun exposure before using Dr Berg’s videos. In 2017, he talked about eating wild cod liver with its oil. So I started this. And noticed that my skin would not burn! It still takes 3 days before my skin is immune to sun rays, after I have eaten at least one can. I have experimented a lot within the last years with this. So I see that in summer, if I want to stay in the sun a lot, I have to eat about 3 cod liver cans per week. I’m not sure if this is applicable to someone else, but it works awesomely for me. I can stay at least 5 hours under the sun in summer (Central Europe).

For those who don’t wanna do keto. Go moderate carb. Moderate carb gives you energy, still feel good, have better workouts, have more glycogen look fuller, better sleep at night, insulin also regulates some of our hormones. Excessive amount of insulin are obviously bad but insulin isn’t our enemy imo. To me moderate carb is 25%-40% carbs while balancing out protein and fat. B4 each meal with carbs have (1tbsp acv + 1tbsp lemon juice + 2tbsp erythritol/monkfruit blend, taste like lemonade) this will lower blood glucose levels. Eat sprouted breads/bagels, eat real nut butters where the fat is at the top, eat cooked vegetables and fruit, use healthy fats (olive, coconut,butter,ghee,avocado), eat animal products such as eggs, milk, yogurt etc, meat. To me eggs are the only superfood besides liver that everyone should eat daily (ideally 4-6 eggs/day) Also seed oils IMO are the #1 cause of obesity as they block your body’s ability to assess if it’s full and allow you to eat unlimited amount it seems. Also exercise even its it only means going for a walk anything that gets you moving. Also artificial sweeteners are a mixed bag while they may cause cancer, studies have shown they don’t affect micro gut biome that much. Eating excessive amounts of sugar is worse as sugar also effects micro gut biome but also because sugar = calories, calories = weight gain, weight gain = greater risk of all death mortality including higher risk for cancer. Studies do show ppl losing weight with Coke Zero over coke. So if your craving a coke, go for zero, if your gonna mix a drink with soda, go for the diet/zero version. Obviously stevia, monk fruit and erythritol are better but I mean products with these cost a lot more like Zevia. Want a chip, eat some siete chips from Costco, they use avacado oil. Make better choices but don’t deprive yourself. Food is a cultural and social thing. It’s part of living. Realize that you may eat something bad but just eat better when you are home. What you do 90% of the time counts more than the other 10% or 5% of the time.
