Thank you Dr. Berg. I also, wanted to hear more. Very informative, so important for all of us. (I have a friend who may be having most of those symptoms you listed.) Your video brought back a forgotten memory. I once prayed for a lady who had, (incurable,) hepatitis C. Over night, all the stored toxins in her liver began expelling orally & rectally. The process was pretty icky, but she began to feel a whole lot better, started getting healed rather quickly. Maybe this other condition can be healed quicker than 3 years, w/ prayer & proper diet. (Just a thought.) Now I know why that clean, high meat, dairy keto didn't work for me. It turned me into the Goodyear blimp. Went vegan immediately. In my past, I heard, a man had to go in for a six artery pass. (I just cringed, feeling sorry for that man.) Myself w/ someone else, prayed, the Lord, if He would please clean out all that plaque out of his arteries and just blow it out of his system.The doctors could no longer find the plaque. It was gone! (He no longer needed that surgery.) Another doctor I learn so much from is Dr. Neal Bernard, who also has a great sense of humor. ""Foods for Protecting the Body and Mind." on KZbin

Following Dr Berg for a while. 20 days ago I decided to omit sugar and bread, and starchy veg. I.e. night shade specifically. Changed snacks to cooked meats cut into bite size snacks and all meals/ snacks. Planted a garden and eat fresh veggies and herbs everyday and all foods are consumed within a 5 hour window daily. First week I had headaches off and on. But my bloating has gone away, feel more alert, sleeping thru the night. Also added (as needed) bile salts, as my gall bladder was removed in the early 90’s. Started taking b vitamins, 1 daily muliti-over the counter vitamin, extra gentle iron, lysine with red marine algae and garlic bulb, extra calcium, magnesium, zinc with D-3. My joints feel great, seems more juiced and I’m no longer stiff and bent over getting out of bed in the mornings! My clothes are really loose and my face is much thinner too! I don’t use scales, (its not about vanity for me), its about life style changes and my health, and overall feeling of wellness. And my skin is less rash-y. I’ll be approaching late 60’s this year, wish I had started in my 30’s- 40’s when subtle changes and unexplainable conditions began. Thank you Dr. Berg!

I feel better eating meats and fats though, I find when I eat plant based I feel groggy and fatigued? I’m naturally skinny and struggle to gain weight. Everything you mentioned Dr Eric everything you said is 100% me and accurate! Every symptom you mentioned is exactly what I have!! Thank you! 🙏🏻

Me too I’m thin but I have the skin dots, a few spider veins since my last (twin) pregnancy, discomfort in the right side and I found out almost two years ago it was my liver. What caused it was my sugar addiction. Intermittent fasting has helped and most recently taking bile salts.
@ts46863 жыл бұрын
@@CandaceTarbat Have your red dots disappeared and liver healed? I dont eat much sugar, and generally eat pretty healthy. Everything is made from scratch. I was like that too, except my body was completely unable to function without large quantities of fatty meats and cheese. I can't go into my long history that lead up to a myriad of health issues, but it all started with the over consumption of diet soda in my late teens to mid twenties. In my case, 3 years of fasting and intermittent fasting on the days I wasn't fasting, with a low glycemic diet and almost a year of intense daily exercise and as of this month I am finally able to reduce my meat intake to about a single serving of canned salmon a day vs the 4-5 chicken thighs and half pound of cheese I used to eat daily. I am not fat, but my liver clearly was and probably still is to a degree!! Anyway, just saying take care of your liver and power through trying to reduce the meats and bad fats, it may make you feel better to eat them in the short term but in the long run you'll be preserving your health.

I know what he’s saying is accurate, I used to drink a lot of shots with beer chasers after work or on my days off when I gambled at the casinos. I developed very dry itchy feet and a skin tag near my eye plus I had excema and rosacea too. My belly has been swelling to the point I look very pregnant like 6-7 months preggo. I slowed down drinking but need to really find something to cleanse my liver because I’ve been gaining a lot of weight in the last year. I can barely walk because my feet are really dry and cracked. Oh and I’ve had red spots for years and bruise easily just like he mentioned. I am female and 50 I live in Las Vegas where u can get cocktails all day and night so yeah I drank a lot.

I do keto vegan (for recipes you can check @the_keto_vegan on instagram) and if you follow Dr. Berg more and hear him explain keto he`ll tell you that you don`t necessarily need much fats to maintain it, unless you`re skinny. You can just eat vegetables and plant based protein, nuts, some legumes. He also has a great video on olive oil, it`s when i started buying pure oil by this local Greek-Dutch family who imports from their land and their neighbors on Crete. So there are loads of ways to do it, but yea if you have a liver issue, I wouldn`t add too much fats to your diet. I noticed it myself too initially and I`m not fat, just not very healthy all the time per se.. Giving your liver rest by not consuming alcohol and doing healthy keto with limited fats would do wonders and like someone also mentioned OMAD might also help to give your body time to restore the damage or a complete fast for a few days.. Dr Berg has videos on that too..

Love the vids! I have this type however I disagree with some of your conclusions of what is happening… this type carries weight on the upper part of the belly because this is where fat is being stored. Visceral fat. The bad kind around your organs. This is a fatty liver. Fatty liver can cause a lot of issues but is best tackled through reduction in alcohol and carbs. Doing so will allow the liver to use up the fat within. You’ll notice this change by measuring your waistline (I’d argue that measurement is the ONLY key one to indicate health and this has been known for many decades…). Gallstones can also play a big part especially in regards to digestive issues as not enough bile can be produced ergo the bloating about 10-20 minutes after eating. Cruciferous veg does make an impact because 1) low fat so not going to cause issues due to lack of bile and 2) low carb so unlikely to add to the deposits of fat in the liver. I’m not sure if they have some other effect though?
@Here_For_Now3 жыл бұрын
I agree that low carb is a good approach (and I love cruciferous veg and eat mostly every day). I have done it for over a year now and got my cholesterol down to normal from high and lost 20lbs. I then started eating sausages again and cream (thinking more fat would help weight loss); but my cholesterol numbers and weight started creeping up again, so I'm back to chicken and fish. My weight has gone back down, and I am looking forward to seeing my cholesterol numbers...liver and cholesterol are linked, if I am not mistaken.

Question, once we get to ideal weight and conquer health issues, do we stay on keto for life, go back occasionally for maintenance, or are we cured and can go back to a normal diet?
@LeifMaelstrom2 жыл бұрын
What is a normal diet? A diet is what you eat. If you eat what is bad for you, that is your normal diet, it's just bad for you. If you eat food that is good for you, then that is your normal diet and it is good for you. Eat what makes you feel good all day. If you feel good on keto, eat keto. Try giving up all wheat products and sugary foods. Maybe dairy. Do the trifecta, no: wheat, dairy, sugars. You are probably getting “wheat belly.” If you feel more mentally focused and less joint pain aches when you stop, it’s a good indicator that that’s your problem. Try cutting your meals in half, too. Most people eat way more than they need, this is a painless way to reduce overall calories.

Somethings a miss here. If you look at old videos in the 50s and 60s you see most everyone is thin- no big belly. I know they ate more red meat and fried foods.

I'm confused. I thought KETO is the way to go. Meat is a large part of KETO.

I agree. I’m on carnivore and my liver and gallbladder feel great. Belly fat is leaving. No bloating.

He mentioned here people eating greasy, heavy meats. Deep fried meat is not a healthy way to do keto.

He's talking to the general population, not just people on a keto diet. I would imagine that people on a balanced keto diet will be more able to tolerate heavy red meat, because their liver should be healthy.

My gosh you have come a long way. I wonder if you still stand by all this. It is tough to reconcile 'liver cant handle protein, so eat a keto diet' . These videos are years apart...but can't fit together. And yes, you look MUCH better now than you did 5 years ago.

This is an anti-keto video. Why do you leave up old anti-keto videos?

@@VitaminJ7734 its been so long I don’t even remember what it said but the best diet for the liver no matter what Boulder type you are is to dump the carbs and up the fat. These guys leave up old videos they contradict with later and it really looks bad. There is no reason for an anti keto video on a Keri channel. There is either one or the other. It can’t be both.
@VitaminJ77343 жыл бұрын
@@splatterdaynightmares I don't know about that though. I think when she just start siding with one diet not the other ask you just got to come in one of those fad dieticians. Although it's clear Eric is very keto at this point, I think he may have been unbias at one point.

@@splatterdaynightmares I'm happy for your success. Your not the only one. So many people have benefit from keto. I just wish I was one of them. I never had any health problems till I tried keto. But I have a habit of over doing things.
