Superb video! You hit the nail on the head brother. Everything you said is true. I’ve been living this hell for years. Trauma/stressors=bad. Multiple trauma/stressors=very bad. Replaying trauma mentally=slow death. Increase stress(fight or flight)= increase cortisol. Increase cortisol=decrease immune. When you think about your trauma daily, your cortisol stays elevated and your immune system is wiped out. Your subconscious can’t tell the difference between the actual traumatic event or thinking about it days or years later. It still activates physiological response. Elevated heart rate, cortisol, etc. Remove stressors=healing! The key is to remove the stressor by reprogramming the subconscious mind. All the supplements, diet changes, exercises I did was pissing in the wind without the reprogramming. Meditation before bed and upon awakening. Conscious awareness of every moment and every thought throughout your day. Take control of your thoughts and program your body to heal. Tell yourself over and over again, I am healing. I sleep better. I will no longer relive negative memories. I think positive thoughts all day. The organic food and supplements are nourishing my body. My exercises are making me stronger. I am calm and in control of my body. My cortisol levels are in my control. My immune system is getting stronger with each breath and heartbeat. Flood your mind with positive stimuli. Stay away from social and mainstream media. Change all of your routines. Take control of your thoughts not controlled by your thoughts. Practice daily. Practice makes perfect! It takes time to master a skill. Believe and you can do it. Your thoughts become your reality. What you think, you become! Peace and blessings

I am 62. I was suffering with pain in my feet, knees, and hips. Most especially first thing in the morning. I was literally hobbling from my bed to the next room. About a week ago I started looking at ways to lower carbs, because I had heard that could be part of the problem. I started watching carbs last Saturday, April 10th, and by Tuesday there Is a marked difference in my ability to walk without pain.
@sunshine39143 жыл бұрын
Same. Only 3 days by severely cutting carbs. While carbs still make up a good part of my vegetarian diet, by limiting them to after 7 pm, I’m able to walk pain-free first thing in the morning, even though I’m on my feet no less than 14 hours a day.

What would you recommend for someone who does regular weight training workouts in regards to diet? especially protein? I find that the less protein I have, the less I'm able to lift, but age also contributes. As to fasting, I tend to do 14-16hours on the days I don't train or dance. I just hope I'm not intolerant to fish as I have developed a horrible array of spots lately, unless plain yoghurts could be causing this and milk? I will be enraged if cheese, butter and fish are the causes as I won't be able to eat anything the way things are going.
@dancercj14913 жыл бұрын
a keto diet would sadly be impossible for me due to the highly exhausting workloads I have everyday plus gym training and dances and I only had to drop most refined sugars and reduce carbs to near 100g per day on average before my body started emulating the skeleton syndrome look (ie, I plummeted by over half a stone in about a month and I'm under 10stone now which is not a good look for me being a gym person. I'm skinny enough).
@louiseclynch87352 жыл бұрын
@@dancercj1491if you want to build muscle you have to eat a lot of food (protein) and go heavier on weights because if you don’t go heavier on weights then you won’t grow, the heavier you go the more you’ll grow
@dancercj14912 жыл бұрын
@@louiseclynch8735 I appreciate the response, and I have tried going heavier again alongside increasing the protein intake to a degree. My body cannot cope with as much food as when I was younger though, but I have increased some strength and muscle mass recently although I'm still 10stone7 (at 5.8 1/2). Looks like my bench press levels have stalled however and I suddenly developed a painful right shoulder once again due to wear and tear after many years. I feel stronger though than I was and at almost 45, I'm not too bad or unfit really. I try to mix my sessions with a couple of sets of 10 with warm up/intermediate weights then a couple of sets on 4-5reps normally to go the heavier route. I do dance 3x a week on average though and have a very physical job. My go to food for the most part is definitely protein and moderate carbs with fat, though I have a feeling I'm not very tolerant to dairy.

I would also like to suggest that one of the quickest and most effective ways to lower cortisol released in your body is to do measure and careful breathing techniques are easy to learn.This deactivates sympathetic nervous system and activates the relaxation response or the parasympathetic nervous system. It also retrained the subconscious mind not to react in a fight or flight mode in a situation that does not work. It’s a conscious is just trying to protect the body and the person from what it perceived as a danger which is not necessarily a danger at the current moment. If you have had loss and pain and trauma it is enough to simply acknowledge that that has happened to you in your past and that it is the past and now is now in the future is different and can be hopeful and positive. Self blame is another form of self imposed stress very careful with your thoughts do not feel as though you are responsible for your pain but you are not a victim and you can help yourself right now no matter what’s happening to you. Everything in the body is energy we hold and energy we let energy go and we do this to our conscious decisions to focus here or focus there. Sometimes it’s as simple as realizing what you’re focusing on and intentionally changing your focus and doing some deep breathing exercises. Certainly excess of anything stressful to the body carbs or sugar or overthinking or over worry. However just be aware that there are techniques to lower stress that are equally as effective an offer last introduction to the information if you cannot do what is suggested here for any reason. Take care

That’s very true, that giving up sugar, combined with intermittent fasting, and using relaxation techniques to lower the stress levels, are effective at reducing inflammatory conditions. When I went on the keto diet, I lost 30 pounds, my anxiety went away, I was happy again and not stressed out about anything, I had a bright outlook on life, my arthritis went away. My eyesight improved. It was really an unexpected miracle what the keto diet and fasting did for me. It is hard to believe it, until you try it for yourself. We are so accustomed to being in pain, stressed and depressed, that we don’t realize how good life can be.

Pain killers are very rarely given out since 2016 & you have to have a well documented painful condition or disease to get them as well as suffer for sometimes years now before they are given. I had been his sole caretaker for a year and a half. We were in and out of the hospital 4 times before he passed. I'm not complaining, because I would do it all again, but it's just the truth. I already had osteoarthritis, but ignored it and pushed myself beyond my limit. I was close to total exhaustion and felt scared. About a week after his death, my arthritis exploded! I could barely move. All I wanted to do was sleep. it was like it had all caught up with me at once. I was dealing with crippling pain, grief and depression. Dr. Berg...first, thank you for all of the information. I'm binge-watching your videos! I started a KETO diet one week ago. I was having extreme thirst (I'm normally never thirsty) so I looked up what could cause that and I saw diabetes could be the problem. I bought a blood sugar test kit and started testing and my blood sugar was a little over 300. For the past month it was hanging out in the high 100's to mid 200's. After a week of Keto, my blood sugar has been coming down steadily. Today it is 103. I suffer from everything you describe in your videos: inflammation, joint pain, stress, high blood pressure, extremely high heart rate, high cholesterol, fatty liver, depression, brain fog and also asthma. I am hoping that this way of eating will change all of this AND help me to lose the 50 lbs that have been added to my 5'1" frame over the years. I haven't seen anything about asthma so I'm not sure if Keto will help that. By the way - after one week on Keto, my blood pressure has been perfect five days in a row! Again, thank you! -Michele

Dr. Berg -- I just want to say that you are truly an amazing human being. I want to thank you for helping me save my life. I am very sick for the last five years and you shed some light finally on what might be going on. I've been to literally dozens of doctors and none have been able to help me like your videos have. None of the conventional doctors I have seen have asked me anything about my diet or lifestyle. They just like to write out prescriptions for drugs that I have actually never taken. I instinctively knew that drugs are not the answer to my problems. They've basically written me off at this point. It's ok because I have you and your videos. With much love and admiration -- Deb

Thank you Dr Berg. You just summed me up. 40 years of extreme stress at work, a mom with Alzheimers who lost her ability to talk any words (just bla, saba etc) and so it goes on to loneliness and still the stress is not over. Had a GP who had me on antibiotics and cortisone as chronic medication for 26 years for a sinus problem. It was when fluids started draining from my ankles the doctor told me there's no answer. Shortly after that I got allergic to antibiotics (had anafalactic shock. Can't use normal antibiotics any more. I thank God that I've found a homeopath that is treating me now. I've found relief from the inflammation although I does pop up from time to time and the kilograms are melting away (I've been obese since childhood). What you're teaching is same my doctor is. Thank you SO MUCH for helping people!

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I was diagnosed in 2007. I see a specialist however the doctor never explained the link between stress, cortisol and Insulin resistance like this. This is the information I need. Information that can improve my quality of life. I feel like doctors just tell me to pace myself and accept my illness. I feel so angry about it. When I complained of pain which I believed was inflammation related the doctor wrote me a prescription for another pill. That’s it. No fact finding to get to the bottom of it and resolve the issue. I didn’t fill the prescription. Instead, I’m reading books and watching videos like this to help myself because the doctors aren’t doing anything for me. I’ve had to take a leave of absence from work twice in the last 4 years because my fatigue/other symptoms become debilitating. It’s insane! It’s seriously crazy making because there’s stigma with the disease and most people don’t believe you on top of this. Anyway, thank you for posting helpful content!!! I’m following Keto and IF because of your videos.

Thank u so much Dr. Berg!!! This makes a ton of sense due to the fact of my health issues in the past.. you've pretty much answered my question in your last video. I have been under a bunch of stress after my parathyroid surgery 2 years ago and did have some adrenal issues.. the Cushing issue sounds like what I've been thru due to the fact of my digestion issues in the past 10 years. You've helped me understand so much with the Cushing body type. I was 260lbs 8 months ago now I'm down to 230lbs with health keto and fasting.. it's just the exercising part that I get insomnia but that could be due to the high cortisol going thru my body. Again thank you for your medical advice... wish you lived in Charlotte NC... would love to have u as a doctor in this side of town.. you answer things that most people question most physicians don't answer or just flat out don't know!!! Also another side note I don't know what it is but I've never been able to burp.. for about 15 years and doctors cant explain.. if I do burp it's a low grade gurgle burp... again thanks!!

To burp successfully: As you sit or stand, lean to d far left n while in that position lean forward as far as u can. It helps if you drink water first to bring d gas to d top of d stomach. If there is any gas in it will come out. It works every time for me.
