Fun Fact! Irish is just called Irish. Unless you're speaking Irish, then it's Gaeilge. Gaelic is a Celtic language family which, beyond Irish, also includes Scottish-Gaelic and Manx. The other Celtic language family is Brythonic, which includes Welsh, Cornish and Breton.

It's basically just something that's from the Gaels (Be it language, sport, whatever), which then gets called "Gaelic X", which is then just shortened to "Gaelic". To fully name everything that is called Gaelic is a fools errand, and I'm the fool for starting it. At least it's an oppertunity for people to learn more about Gaelic things.

Just want to clarify that in the Philippines, we don't celebrate independence day on July 4 anymore. It is considered the Philippine Republic Day until the 1980's and now Philippine-American Friendship Day. Our independence day is June 12 which was the declaration of independence from Spain. And as far as I know here in the Philippines, no one really cares abiut July 4 technically being our actual independence day.
