It doesn’t sit right with me that Fuller House constantly disses the twins for not wanting to be on the show. They really expect them to want to be on a show they were forced into 30 years ago? They were kids. They don’t owe anyone anything

@orchdork7754 жыл бұрын
@@teehee6372 Yea, even Drew said he isn't sure he really feels bad for the Olsen twins, because they are billionaires. How could you not feel bad for them after learning about their life and seeing how much it has affected them?? Being a billionaire can't buy you a childhood. It can't buy love or acceptance.... There is so much more than just financial problems, and I find it incredibly naive and small minded when people dismiss the idea that rich people can struggle just as much as everyone else. What if a rich person was horribly raped, and the whole reason they have so much money is from the settlement?? What if someone inherited their wealth, but their family was loveless, cruel and abusive? People fantasize about being rich as though that would solve all their problem, so I think they invalidate the suffering of rich people, specifically to maintain the illusion that if they could just make more money, they would be happy. At least then they have hope, though they will never truly address the cause of their unhappiness.

The irony of that stupid song they sing here is they probably really couldn't wait until they were grown up just so they could be out of the control of their slave driver parents and agents (the same people, I'm pretty sure). I feel so gross and sad because I know all these songs by heart and was a member of that stupid Fun Club myself, I'm only a couple years younger than them and I literally wanted to be them when I was in like kindergarten and first grade. I watched all of these videos over and over and thought they had the coolest lives ever because I was a kid who couldn't tell fiction from reality. And at that same age, they were kids who had every bit of their lives controlled and didn't know anything else. I'm being super melodramatic here it might seem like, but yeah when I saw that first ever episode of fuller house, which is the only one I ever watched, where every single cast member simultaneously breaks the fourth wall to shame "Michelle" for not coming back to the show and the studio audience cheers and laughs for a literal minute straight, I'm just like... Honeyzy exactly, anyone that had a nice childhood would say that it’s priceless. I wouldn’t trade mine away for anything. They had to give theirs up for money and fame, and clearly (in their opinion) it wasn’t worth it. They don’t have any normal, yet amazing memories. It’s just the simple things about being a child that makes it so great, and they never had that. People put so much emphasise on how important money and fame are, yet most famous child actors say it was terrible and that they’d trade it in a second to live a nice, normal life. These girls had a terrible childhood, actually, they didn’t even get a childhood. Completely overworked at four years old. It’s ridiculous, same thing happened with the home alone actor. A lot of them don’t even make it into their 30s. I’ve made an effort to research all the child actors in movies I’ve watched from the 90s, and too many don’t make it. I even sadly, have predictions of actors/singers currently that are young that I don’t think will make it, Demi being one of them. It’s a sick industry, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It’s different when people enter it as an adult, they choose to make the decision, kids just follow what their parents say.

I feel like they’re a less extreme Truman. They were thrown into a life they didn’t want, and got extremely wealthy and famous for it. But they didn’t want the life, didn’t choose it, which is extremely important. Look at their sister; she chose to act and seems much more well adjusted than the twins. They stepped out of the spotlight but can’t ever fully escape it.

How could you break that cycle/who would l e t you break away if that traumatizing situation gave people all of the financial support that they need. it’s going to the thousands of people that are hired to work with you, your parents, your managers/agents, or those that basically control and profit off of your image. Ikr, people want money so bad that they hate people who have a lot of it. It really sucks for those people because a lot of the time they either worked to get where they were or started young and didn't have a lot of choice. People don't realize that having a "boring childhood" is a privilege unless they didn't have one ;;
@sosmooth134 жыл бұрын
This is why I don’t trust A LOT of those family channels. It’s hard to tell which ones are genuine, but some of the more obvious ones make me want to punch the parents. Like, don’t turn your kids into money bags parents. Cherish their childhood and let them live. Also, I hate the comments from the Karen’s talking about how the Olsen’s shouldn’t complain about their childhood because they’re rich. That’s a red flag.
@NylaTheWolf4 жыл бұрын
This!! We need to have regulations and protections for child actors. I feel like KZbin should also crack down on these family channels using their kids as props.

@@NylaTheWolf Yes! There should at the very least be laws protecting youtube children like child actors (aka setting aside wages for the children since it's THEIR money) but really it should be prohibited to display your child like that on a social platform.
@evlovesbooks4 жыл бұрын
The problem with that is that some children have dreams to become an actor. I agree that being a baby is not how old you should be when you get yourself into it but if it's their choice then parents should try to adapt. (The Olsen twins are an example of what not to do)

my favorite piece of olsen twin trivia (sort of) is that there’s a song by a band (one of my favorite bands ever) have a satirical song about being terribly obsessed and madly in love with them and stalking them. it’s such a good song you literally have no idea. it also has a ten minute long music video in which one of the band members dies at the end

Privilege can be so gaslighty, since even if someone is having a rough time everyone around them is telling them they’re not, and that they’re so lucky and how they’ve never known real suffering because they’re so privileged. Envy gets in the way of people showing compassion and empathy, and privilege while nice to a certain extent also does a great job at masking unresolved trauma.
@hannalowercase59283 жыл бұрын
that is SO true. people just treat celebrities as scapegoats and they go around saying they're good people, but in reality they don't extend the same empathy towards people that they deem "have nothing to complain about"
@melon78843 жыл бұрын
hit the nail right on the head. all those comments saying they don’t get to complain or feel like they were deprived of a healthy childhood because of their privileges just reek of pure envy and a lack of empathy, failing to understand that no amount of money can fix years of childhood trauma

I didn’t realize it until drew pointed it out (bc the last time I thought about the Olsen Twins I was like 6) , but they were exploited the same way kids on KZbin are. These parents and everyone else around them decided they were going to make a business and a brand out of their kids. The kids never have any say in the matter. Look how it turned out for Mary-Kate and Ashley.
@user-qr2zj8ox9i4 жыл бұрын
they look so sad now, you can see they didnt HAVE a childhood and all that work as 6 year olds is catching up with them, they just look so miserable SO you know that ryans toys review channel, idk whats gonna end up for him but i know hes gonna end up similar too mary-kate and ashley
@ragecage7444 жыл бұрын
Whenever he started talking about kids on KZbin being exploited all I could think about was that poor Everleigh girl and then he showed a clip of her which was good. These poor kids are having their entire childhood taped and put on the internet and it’s weird and it’ll probably be embarrassing for them when they are older. At least when it comes to child actors they are just filmed for the purpose of tv and movies so their actual life isn’t put out there just whatever characters they are playing. Regardless both situations are sad for the kids
