Love this interview. Taught me how to talk to educated people. I am 68, I've become a carnivore. For 90 days now. Red Meat/ Lamb /Salt / Water / Electrolyte. I do adaptive resistance training using "Body By Science". This all done to produce a metabolism to, restore brain function, bone density, reduce blood pressure. I haven't used alcohol in a decade. Results are just amazing. Weightloss, clarity, went from XXL to L in clothes. I appreciate this interview because I want to be able to understand the changes. I socialize with executives in pharm and they are skeptical, predicting long term effects. But the reality is doctors and the medical industry are not experts in nutrition. You need to advocate for yourself. And understand "food is medication". I would be a great candidate to reach out to, as someone who has gone off grid from pharma/medical solutions.

My father-in-law 68 year old was diagnosed with Type-2 diabetes 6-to-8 months ago. His youngest brother 56 year old died a horrible death as a result of Type-2 diabetes a year ago. Amputation of toes and feet and finally congestive heart failure. *** You can’t change anyone but you can inspire others.*** My father-in-law finally took my advice to go LOW CARB, reduce/cut out sugar and seed oils and processed food products. As of today, his doctor informed him that his next follow up is in a year. He’s no longer diabetic. He just eats meat, chicken, fish, eggs and vegetables, some fruits and minimally processed nuts. And cook them in only olive oil and butter. We just had coffee with honey and Oikos yogurt with berries.

Eat grass fed products without the antibiotics as much as possible too. Reduce ultra-processed foods & oils, sugars, alcohol & smoking too.
@stealthswimmer14 сағат бұрын
Well, the studies and people's actual blood work show that saturated fat is a problem by raising LDL and Apo b particles. There is a genetic component so some people respond a lot even to small increases while other people are not as sensitive. So some people can have more than others. Also, if you're maintaining a healthy bodyweight that is a big factor too.

Want to say that I mean no offense, and please let me know what you have learned about this, this is just a thought of mine based on conversation I have with a few local farmers in my area that work small scale in order to have free range beef and goats. I have a feeling the "grass fed" and "organic" foods are a scam. No livestock is only fed fresh grass in the pasture, it would not sustain them alone. All livestock, even free range pastured graized is supplemented with hay and small amounts of grain. Maybe far less and they are not confined in giant buildings like mainstream livestock. Also "organic" isn't pesticide free or antibiotic free, there is a list of "approved" pesticides and antibiotics that are allowed to still be considered organic. does anyone actually know what livestock farming of any kind truly entails? This is all just a selling point that allows big business to charge more. Yes it is great that the animals are not confined and sick, but none of the claims and certifications are actually what most of us think. I just started learning about this in depth last year by having friends and family in this industry. Yes I would much rather buy local because I know the health of the livestock is good but the main reason is the price. My neighbor barters with me from time to time for goat meat and the farm down the road will sell whole butchered cows at a much better price per pound than I could ever dream of in the store. Please let me know your experience in your local area

I wish, rather than state, unreservedly, that saturated fat and and salt is bad for health there would be some proof offered. It seems this is always assumed as true and everyone knows the science. For example, is saturated fat or salt bad in the context of highly processed food, but has been shown to be equally bad in a diet devoid of processed food? Is all saturated fat and salt the same? Or, is it just expeditious, or of known little difference they are considered equal regardless of context?

Here’s why this matters: The Problem Isn’t Omega-6s Themselves, But Excessive Intake Omega-6 fatty acids are not inherently bad; they are essential fats that the body needs. The problem lies in their overabundance in modern diets, often from processed foods and seed oils like soybean, corn, and safflower oil. This leads to skewed omega-6 to omega-3 ratios, which historically were around 1:1 but now are often as high as 20:1 or more. Such an imbalance can promote chronic inflammation, which is linked to various diseases, including heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. Dr. Maki doesn't speak to this. Failure to Address the Root Cause of Imbalance By emphasizing the benefits of omega-6s without acknowledging the potential harm of excessive intake, experts like Dr. Maki may appear to sidestep the central issue: our omega-3 intake is too low, and omega-6 intake is excessively high. This imbalance may negate some of the benefits of omega-6s and worsen inflammation-related conditions. Lack of Holistic Nutritional Perspective Speaking only about the benefits of omega-6s can feel like a narrow focus. A more comprehensive approach would advocate for reducing the intake of omega-6-heavy seed oils while increasing omega-3-rich foods like fatty fish, pasture-raised eggs, and high-quality supplements to restore balance.
@dietfreelife14 сағат бұрын
Listen to how he speaks about omega-6s. He chooses his words carefully. I wish you would have asked him about omega-6 to omega-3 ratios. Next time, ask him about consuming an abundance of omega-6s and not just omega-6s.

There are 2 risk factors connected to meat consumption that are widely overlooked, lying in the cooking method (only).... 1.) AGE`s (advanced glycation endproducts) "AGEs have been implicated in Alzheimer's Disease, cardiovascular disease, and stroke. The mechanism by which AGEs induce damage is through a process called cross-linking that causes intracellular damage and apoptosis. " "Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) are a family of compounds that are the products of nonenzymatic reactions between reducing sugars and proteins, lipids, or nucleic acids. Roasting and broiling food at high temperatures is a common practice in cooking. These high temperatures facilitate chemical reactions between primary and secondary amino groups of amino acids in proteins and carbonyl groups of reducing sugars, resulting in formation of AGEs" "Beef and cheese were found to have the highest levels of AGEs followed by poultry, pork, fish, and eggs....." "Some modern foods contain relatively high amounts of AGEs." "This is mostly due to popular methods of cooking that expose food to dry heat. These include barbecuing, grilling, roasting, baking, frying, sautéing, broiling, searing, and toasting." "In fact, dry heat may increase the amount of AGEs by 10-100 times the levels of uncooked foods. Certain foods, such as animal foods that are high in fat and protein, are more susceptible to AGE formation during cooking ." www.healthline.com/nutrition/advanced-glycation-end-products#diet-and-ag-es pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3704564/ = just cook your stuff in water...... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.) frying (what is a bad idea in the first place) your stuff in linolenic acid rich oils, like sunflower, soy oil etc...cause linoleic acid ist not heat stable and is oxidyzing into 4- HNE (Hydroxynonenal) "The researchers found the compound 4-hydroxyl-trans-2-nonenal (HNE) in soybean oil that they heated to 185 degrees Celsius. The compound is formed primarily during the oxidation of linolenic acid and damages cellular proteins and DNA, the researchers reported at a congress in Salt Lake City in the USA." www.aerztezeitung.de/Medizin/Toxin-in-erhitztem-Speise-Oel-334526.html "4-hydroxy 2-nonenal (HNE), a highly toxic and most abundant stable end product of lipid peroxidation, has been implicated in the tissue damage, dysfunction, injury associated with aging and other pathological states such as cancer, Alzheimer, diabetes, cardiovascular and inflammatory complications." But, is it the insecticides, pesticides, pollutants, unfresh food (oxidation), plastics,... that are the cause of this? These get stored in fats of animals too. The body has mechanism to filter some of these out. Smoking & drinking alcohol are weakening bodies' defenses as was some or all the mRNA shots given. Stress & poor sleep don't help too. Exercise helps to eliminate toxic elements, but prevention is always best. What are the effects of chlorine water & antibiotic foods? And, finally, there are the added sugars & ultra-processed foods.
@aufsesserpremium7 сағат бұрын
@@PeterDMayr AGE`s are made naturally in all bodies and the accumulation over time is the main reason for the aging process, the longterm bloodsugar marker your doctor is checking, HBA1C...is the percent your red bloodcells are glycated over the last 3 month, a good number is 5%...the sugars in our system are glycating proteins everywhere. There are pathways to get rid off, but that does work just to a degreee and some AGE`s need years and decades to get rid off, exercise is way to help...maintain a low blood sugar, no spikes....the health risks of diabetics are coming mainly from higher AGE`s... The main part of AGE`s are made internally, but eating food with high AGE content does play a role too. Most foods are highly heated nowadays, that mean cereals, crackers, stuff, babyfood has a high AGE content for the body weight, cause the heating for "foodsafety"....and here, meat with a higher AGE content from start, is a very high source when heated dry and hot, the more brown the more... That`s a modern problem, primitive peoples don`t heat anything to dead... In animal studies a low AGE diet had the same effect for longevity and health as a calorie restriction.
