Shock! Halloween Countdown - Day 14

Dr. Gangrene keeps the 2024 Halloween countdown of films from the Shock! package of Universal films going with a look at the 1946 old dark house mystery film The Cat Creeps.
Sateena was played by Joanne Good. She hosted Shock Show in 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia.

That is an amazing film - Charles Laughton is a stellar actor. And of course Bela appears in it as well. Are we not men!?

Sadly we were not able to find any available copies of this movie online. I did find plenty of trailers and clips, but no full movie.I will keep looking.

At first I was like, “Wait, this is a lost film!” Then I realized it was not the 1930 film but another remake of the 1927 silent. I guess the 1930 film must have already gotten lost by 1957. Heck, they probably lost it when they were filching scenes for 1932’s Boo! Too bad no one was taking care to preserve films in the early years of film. 🎥

The publicity posters of the time suggested another CAT PEOPLE but of course this little mystery was far from it, still I liked it
