I started brewing with can kits and DME and never got a light coloured beer until I started all grain brewing,I think the colour must be from what ever (heating/sanitizing)process they use to make the can kits and DME. As always great video.

Can you do the same thing with LME? I would love to see that experiment. Thanks 🙏

Looking forward to seeing how you get on with the Nova lager. I've been using it at 12 to 17°C and very happy with the results. 🍻

Hey there Dr. Great video and I was totally lost as to what your brewing method was. 😮 I watched all the way through and , what is he doing lol. But I'm not familiar with this process and it didn't make sense but having said that I know, you know how to brew. But this experiment had me lost. However I was following along the best I could lol. Love your dog. Cheers mate. 😎👍

I recently had something similar happen with an all grain American pale ale I made where I ended up with a slightly darker beer than I was expecting. I'm interested to see what others comments are regarding the colour of your beer. I made a previous batch that was very similar and all that I had changed was the addition of protafloc and I changed my yeast from a lager yeast to US-05.

Thanks very much Doctor, haven't watched in a while, but just watched the LME vlog now this unfortunately have no kegs and can't ferment under pressure with the fast ferment but definitely going to have a go at a Kölsch style with all dme using high voltage the new yeast from @whclabs so will brew at around 34° can I still dry hop from the start? And what amount of hop ?? Appreciate any advice

How much headpace do you leave on your shake n brews? Is there a ratio or definite amount you use on these under pressure?
@DrHansBrewery7 ай бұрын
In a nine liter keg I brew 8 liter batches, leaving a liter of head space. In a 18liter corny keg I would brew up to 16liter, leaving a 2 liter head space. There you have the ratio.

You said you used tap water. Was it from the lake with lots of iron that discolored the beer?
@DrHansBrewery7 ай бұрын
It wasn´t my own water from my well. It was "normal" tap water. So no!

What a brewday 😅 The colour looks exactly like colour from malt. Maybe the DME wasn't as light as advertised?

Maby Chlorine in tap water started oxidation. No boil and chlorine is still in brew.
@DrHansBrewery7 ай бұрын
Intersting idea, thank you. In Sweden the amount of Chlorine in tap water is extremly low compared with a lot of other countries though. Where are you from Gustaf? Cheers DrHans
