The SA-805 is a statistically very strong assault rifle in Call of Duty Ghosts. It should be the best AR, if not that at least in the top tier of ARs. However, it has one critical flaw.

I've noticed that a lot of these guns are directly analogous to MW3 weapons. The SC2010 and the Scar L are 35-20 damage assault rifles with 750 rate of fire, and now the SA-805 matches up with the G36C with 40-25 damage at 769 rpm.

Damn straight man. I almost got a K.E.M Strike too but messed up turning at the last second and then getting flanked by an opponent. This gun is beast mode close OR long range.

I don't think MSBS is op. The recoil that kicks up each burst makes it difficult to hit enemies at long range. If you miss your first burst in close quaters then you're pretty much dead. The hipfire is also bad. The iron sights are also bad.

Most assault rifles in Ghosts have minimal recoil or you barely notice the recoil. The foregrip will improve the gun, but I tend to stay away from it. I normally use the SA-805 with a Red Dot Sight and Silencer(sometimes Muzzle Brake)

cutthroat795 I'd say that the Foregrip is recommended (definitely helps on my end), but the optical attachments are unnecessary. The sights are not *that* obstructive upon second glance, as there's a good amount of space that the rear sight surrounds, similarly to the MW3 M4A1.

In my opinion, the SA-805 is one of the best assault rifles. It has a high damage and fast fire rate, and the recoil isn't too bad (unless your trying to get long range targets). Iron sights are ugly but usable in close range. Overall a sight and grip/silencer is all you need to good :)

hey drift0r, i had a video idea for you. currently you do 1 of every weapon videos. along side that, i think it would be a good idea to have 1 'summary' video for each subset of weapons (marksman, ar, smg, shotgun, sniper) here you would explain things like: -which of the guns in the class have the fastest kill time -which of the guns in the class has the longest range -fastest rounds / minute -fewest shots to kill -best 2 shot kill range / 3 shot kill range / 4 shot kill range -best gun to use a silencer with (in terms of DPS) -and maybe your favorite gun in the class set, and your reasoning. -any other good ideas you can think of this would be very helpful for people, and i would assume have a very high viewcount due to the massive knowledge boost it would give to everyone wanting to be more serious about the game, without the need for someone to watch every single video if they dont have the time to do that. personally, i'll watch and like all of your vids. keep up the good work man.

The SA-805 is extremely good if you can master the iron sights and the recoil. The iron sights aren't too hard, and the recoil, be it Foregrip or not, is also rather simple to control. The SA-805 is one of the best weapons in the game IMO, and is definitely a weapon to consider. I consider it a jack-of-all-trades, master of none, albeit it's very close to being master.

Drift0r! When you talk about the iron sight you should also put a little picture of the iron sight, just so we know eccactly (?) how it looks and from there, to agree or disagree. I also noticed you used semi-automatic in the gameplay at the start. In my opinion, you should also add the stat change from the semi-automatic if possible. I hope you consider my opinions :)

I play both COD and BF, and let me tell you; if you can master recoil on BF's guns, then the guns of COD almost all feel like lasers. Recoil isn't much of a factor to me in COD anymore when you can stream line a BF LMG over long distances. For those that hate BF and love COD, I say at least practice on the now cheaper BF3 for your recoil control; you'll be amazed by what you can pull of in COD after.

Oh come on drift0r dont say because you cant get a good feel for the gun you perform worse. Just practice and try out different attachments. Trust me i hated this gun but after putting grip and silencer or grip and muzzle brake i love it. Maybe instead of worrying about your attachents try changing your perks to better suit your weapon. In my opinion this gun is a versatile king. Good firerate for close quarters and is always a 4sk after its 3sk making it decent at range.

I think adding a clip or picture of the iron sights when you talk about them be really helpful. An In depth about the burst fire attachment be nice as well. What if any stats are affected.

I used the SA-805 the first day i got ghost, i used the gun the whole time and the recoil was not a problem with me. It might just be that the guns recoil must have the weird motions you are not used to. So maybe it just wont work for you. I went "ham" as some people say and got the gun gold in less than a day I was so good with it. The two attachments i used that made me succeed were the foregrip and a tracker sight. Both attachments worked fine with me and I do agree about the iron sights, they messed me up while i used the gun the first few times but i played around with the sights and found either the red dot sight, thermal, and tracker sight are all great attachments for the gun. I also love the perk ready up for "drop shotting" people so i can get out of the sprint fast. I would strongly recommend this gun to anybody who hasn't found that special gun in the game yet.

Guys! Dont let driftors talk about the bad recoil put you off. I think this is my favorite AR in the game. Actually with Foregrip its a little bit lazerbeamy for the first 5-7 shots and then the kick happens and it does this weird circle motion where it kinda like a sniper and it feels like more of a huge weapon sway than a kick. Highly recommended weapon.

I love this Assault Rifle. I find it more manageable when I squeeze the trigger lightly. It is very accurate. Instead of a fore grip, I use armor piercing ammunition and it works like a charm.

I used this gun when I started the game out and didn't have a good time with it; mainly because I was unfamiliar with the maps. I quit using it after I discovered how great of a gun he AK-12 was. One of my favorite things about this game is that I can use any gun and do at least a little decent. There is no gun I absolutely hate. So I find myself spicing things up and playing different guns with different setups for fun since I can get almost anything to work and it gets boring over time to continually play the same gun. It took til today when I was well into my second prestige to start using the SA-805 again. I can fairly say the SA-805 is an absolute god gun! I don't know what all these reviews are saying. The iron sights are the best. The recoil is the best. I'm snapping around, putting all my bullets on target, and killing so quickly that I get scared people may start reporting me for cheating.

This is my favourite AR in this game, only beaten by the MSR and Bulldog. I use the SA - 805 with: Extended Mags Foregrip Ready Up Marathon Quickdraw Focus Scavenger MP443 Grach with Extended Mags or Muzzle Break This setup works really well for me, and I have had this as one of my fixed classes since I tried this setup. If you have a good feel for the recoil, and can use the iron sight well, this is the class for you! :)

So, has anyone else realised how similar some of the Ghost weapons are to MW3 weapons? The SC-2010 is similar to the SCAR-L having decent iron sights, same damage, low recoil, and RPM, while the SA-805 is similar to the G36C having questionable iron sights and recoil, same damage, and same RPM. Although the may differ in certain categories such as range, they are basically remodeled MW3 guns. I thought that was interesting when I realised that.

I really like this gun, I play on PC, and recoil is almost never a problem for me. You pretty much need quickdraw and stalker for every AR, and the red dot sight is always a great choice for it

i think this gun is the scar equivalent in bo2. in bo2, the scar was super powerful with incredible range but weird recoil. scar was my best weapon in bo2 and the transition to sa805 has been pretty easy (grip + silencer). i would also add that the hip fire on this gun is actually underrated, and probably better than other ARs.

I do really well with this gun, and I can say that it is best used for short to medium range combat. The longer ranges are not to good with it because of the recoil. So my tip is: try to get close, but not too close.

SA-805 (made to resemble the real-life CZ 805 BREN assault rifle / carbine, made in Czech Republic) actually has a difficult recoil - indeed, it is moderate, but also harder to control than with other weapons in the assault rifle category. I suppose there are people who are going to run with this gun, it's powerful indeed, but it will take time for anyone to get used to the recoil pattern.

i haven't seen any recoil on this gun. I use it and it has a smooth feel. The only time i have seen recoil on it is in your in-depth when you put sights on it. There may just be recoil but without a sight it appears very low

I personally love this gun along with the honey badger. the sa 805 with a red dot and silencer is a really great gun just don't go for to long distant shots. the recoil balances the gun really well.

Drift it would be very helpful to make a vid describing meters in ghosts. You say three shots up close or meters maybe just put a dummy in and show shots to kill in each vid. Wall test for recoil while ads to show viewkick and kick. Good example is icerink5am comparison vids.

Before I started playing BF4 this was and is still my favorite assault rifle. So what that the "lovely" AK-12 or R5 have awesome range, their fire rates are utterly worthless to me and this weapon makes the enemies poop their pants if they choose to use anything else at mid-range. No other assault rifle is as versatile as this beast and if I desire more reach I'll slap on the muzzle brake and laugh at everyone's silencer/AK-12 combo when they fail to challenge me head on. The sights are unfavorable but I love the ACOG on it because I have never found the recoil to be problematic with or without the grip.

So I just picked up Ghosts on sale, and I'm coming from Planetside 2 as a New Conglomerate Light Assault class main. That, basically, means lots of high recoil high damage weapons on a very unstable firing platform (Lights have jump jets, and are frequently firing mid-air) so this, with what you call high recoil, looks like something I can pick up and go along sprinting with :D No offense to anyone, but after playing PS2 for so long, and it taking five shots minimum to get kills, with much higher recoil, on a faction known for recoil and power, this thing looks like easy mode!

You really have no idea what you're talking about. A CoD noob is a CoD noob regardless of whatever game he's played before. It doesn't matter how guns or maps or whatever are in Planetside. You have to learn the maps and shit in Ghosts the same way a person coming from WoW has to learn them. You're gonna get destroyed at first. No getting around that. One does not translate to the other, gun fights are won and lost on a fraction of a second in CoD. Reaction time, map knowledge, trigger finger control all matter greatly.

TheTehpwnshow+rileyrat13 I agree with most of what you're saying, though we both seem to have missed the point to some degree. I'm talking about recoil control. PS2 has massive recoil compared to any CoD game, and being reflexively potent on the recoil control makes or breaks. Also, the general TTK for most weapons is twice to four times that of most CoD guns. What I meant to focus on is only that: recoil control. I know I'm going to have issues with everything else :P that's the fun part.

pressApressB Finally, someone else who understands. I've been getting my ass handed to me, but not because of the recoil. Most of my shots are actually too low or to the side. Still messing with sensitivity. It's the freaking latency. When I pop a corner and a guy is there, I have to be literally perfect on the reflex shot or it's an instant knife death. At range, I can wreck face all day with this baby.

Focus is a moot perk. The benefit of less flinch is far, far outweighed by the fact everything in this game kills so quick. Can you do an episode on IW fucking up please?

I disagree. I've had several instances where I lost a gunfight because I did not have Focus and the flinch knocked my aim off enough to allow the enemy to kill me. I've also had instances where I lost a gunfight because the enemy DID have Focus and didn't lose his aim from my gunfire. It may not be the best perk out there, but its certainly solid.

My class with this weapon. Primary, SA-805 with a silencer, fore grip, and red dot sight. Secondary, pistol of choice, (me, M9A1) with tactical knife, silencer. No Lethal No Tactical Perks, Extra Attachment, Stalker, Focus, Steady Aim. Try it out!

That happens to some of my guns since I've got them gold. I've played worse with the MTAR-X, AK-12, Remighton R5, and the USR since I've got them gold. But I've played better than before I got them gold with the Honey Badger, Vector, K7, and the ARX-160. I'm currently trying to get the SA-805 gold and I'm wrecking kids at the moment.
