Drifta Kitchen in a Stockman Pod Trailer? You Bet!

We wanted easy access to the lower area of the Stockman Pod trailer storage and a large kitchen space for when we are setup camping for a few days at a time. In this video I show you the Drifta Pull Out Return Kitchen and Storage box combination that has been added to our Pod trailer, and the removable floor system that Custom Off Grid Solutions (COGS) has built to give us full use of the upper storage area on the lid of the Pod. This has made the Pod very versatile for longer trips and allows us to remove everything if we want to use it as a box trailer as well! Love this Drifta Kitchen!

Another excellent and detailed review. One comment for consideration is that a setup like this is no doubt good if someone is staying onsite for a week. It would be interesting to see how well these setups work for that roadside overnight stop where the ground may not be level, there are no facilities and a minimal setup and breakdown time is very important. Knowing that it often rains on ken's trips let's add that complexity of rain also. If I could add one other often overlooked experience of inland travel and early starts is that pulling pegs, untiring knots, and folding canvas that is damp or still frozen in zero degree temperatures is often a reality.

Absolutely agree!! Joolca shower, ensuite, with a Porta Potti for quick setup of amenities when required. We used this pod on a 10 day trip doing laps around the Strezlecki in July and it was super quick. We never put the awning out. Just open/close the Baroud RTT and simpler meals.

I’ve used the Drifta kitchen a lot over the years, and for quick stops, I just put it out and don’t setup the return. Just do the cook, and then put it back away. That helps keep things quick and simple.

Hi mate - Great video and demo. Just curious about the heights of everything though. You said Drifta have made the kitchen to fit under the lid height so you don't need to lift the pod to access it - Does that mean its a custom height kitchen? Everything I can find says the trailer tub depth is 360mm, and the Drifta kitchen is 415mm tall? I'm tossing up between this style set up, or building a tradey trailer, and just trying to work out what fits where! Keep up the great content mate. Cheers.
