Drill Perfect Holes in Marble Tile

Remember eye protection. A small piece of diamond or marble would make for a very bad day. I did this with a hand drill... tilted the bit until it scored the marble and slowly moved the bit to vertical. It worked great. I also used a circle of plumber's putty to create a pool of water inside the circle. Thanks for the great video.

I find an easier way to drill holes with water in tile and concrete using a drill drill press or core drill is to find a short pipe (depending on the size of the bit and depth of the cut) and cover one of the lips in a bead of caulk or use a rubber gasket and hold it to the ground or press around your pipe while it’s filled with water essentially making a submerged drill bit

I use a 5 gal bucket with the bottom cut off and beaded it with silicon then filled it up with water to core drill. It also keeps the area nice and clean

If I'm using a drill, should I be using a faster setting.

No keep it slow, but start it at an angle. Obviously the hole won’t be perfect, but it should work.

Any idea how to remove the plug from the bit once used?

There are slots in the side. Wedge in a small screwdriver, alternating sides, little by little, until it comes out.
