anon1561 Nah but one can dream. Ive had 944 turbos and 914 6 before they were worth anything.
@123vaw1237 жыл бұрын
mzondi1970 same, my first car was a '85 944T. wasn't expensive a few years ago- especially when it was running but was down on compression. Re surfaced head, and new head gasket; ran like factory. only has 35k original miles, was going to be 5.3 swapped with a Renegade kit. I regret selling that car almost daily.

I happened to drive up on this amazing 911 in Newport Beach as Joey pulled into the Rusty Pelican. Heard this beast from down the road and my car is fairly loud. Instantly it struck me as the PERFECT blend of RACE, STREET and ICONIC VINTAGE PORSCHE.

I cant believe how idiotic some of the comments and people are on here. 99% of you are just jealous basement trolls. The guy is doing a review for you to watch. I cant see how calling him fat and change your glasses has anything to do with the video. The music fits very well especially after the 2 minute mark. How's this for an idea: go out and make a better video... it takes balls to do this stuff. Love the reviews. Keep it up.

One of my favorite episodes, not necessarily because of the car (although it is a beautifully constructed, piece of art) but the use of the music to differentiate this video from the others since this car's nature IS that of the 80's. Matt, having done his homework, clearly conveys what he feels while behind the wheel as well the difference between the original and this tuned model. Great work guys!

***** What do you mean? The wheels are awesome and period correct.
@taddiemer62529 жыл бұрын
The AE86 of Mt. Akina Well, they're INSPIRED by the wheels from a 935 race car, but that's not really the same thing as "period correct." Period-correct would be an actual set of OZ wheels from a 935, since that's what someone might have done at that time... I'd like them better if they were an inch or two smaller in diameter. That 80's look is pretty cool and does suit the car, but I think it throws off the effect when you go that big.

I really like this new direction for tuned. It's almost like you guys are doing themed seasons. Season 1 was all about looking for the best finished cars, season two was all about power, and three could be all about driving enjoyment/ purity. These are all perfectly valid ways to think about what tuning is, and if that's what you're doing now, it's completely awesome. Keep up the good work.

Great video, and great concept car. Having owned several porsches and now a 996 997 aficionado and can still relate to the raw sound and feel of the earlier 911s with less weight and more power than provided by the manufacturer. A purposeful car with the driver in mind. Thanks

@TheSmokingTire11 жыл бұрын
Just because they aren't working at the moment, doesn't mean you need them to work if it's your own car. It's one of those things that he said he would get around to eventually, but, like he said in the video, he spends his time on customer cars. Look around that shop, you don't think they can get a tach to work there? He hasn't gotten to it, that's all.
@TheSmokingTire11 жыл бұрын
you're missing the point: "No, officer, I have no idea how fast I was going, you see my speedo and rev counter aren't working properly." It's called plausible deniability, and although Joey is going to hook up that stuff eventually, he's perfectly happy without it.

completely different goals. Most people (as much as they love Singer cars) think Singer 911's are pretty silly. They are so expensive, and who even knows if they will be worth anything in the future or if all that money translates to an un-sellable car. Joey's done the car his way, and modernized some of the same touches as a Singer car would, but it's really just a clean race car whereas singers are ultra-luxury vintage road cars.
@syrgrad9111 жыл бұрын
Stunning car, and really nicely engineered, and those HRE wheels look simply amazing on it!! If I were lucky enough to own a car like that, I might have the engine detuned just enough to be able to run on pump gas, and perhaps a headliner and carpet to help make the car a little more comfortable as a daily driver. Yes, it adds some weight, but there can be a fine balance between comfort and performance. That being said, Joey's car is simply amazing!

The tach and speedo hadn't been wired yet. We bumped our schedule up to get the film done earlier and they just didn't have time to get the wires on. In my original in-car I said it, but it just didn't make any sense to keep it in, as it didn't add to the film.

You'd be surprised how often someone who shouldn't be concerned with value retention is absolutely terrified of it. On the flip side, the people who tend not to be so concerned with it are the people who can barely afford the car in the first place.

usually no one, unless the engine is something you've never used before and because of it's super-light internals, revs up and down more like a literbike than a car. It matches perfectly if you're driving as fast as you can drive, but if you're shifting any slower than "as fast as possible," it's very difficult to rev match because the gearbox is heavy and a little clunky, and the engine changes speed so quickly. Then, a tach might be helpful.
