How is it that Voelk doesn't have more subscribers? Great review, Tom. Yours was one of the reviews that encouraged me to include this car among the German marques on my list and last October I took delivery of a 2023 CT5-V (Black on Sedona Sauvage). Mine is RWD and was parked for the winter (I'm in Canada) and I absolutely LOVE how tossable this car is for its weight/size. It is both refined and fun. I'll keep watching your channel for when you review my next car purchase...

One of the reasons why I love this car is the interior. It would be one of the biggest selling points for me and one of the reasons why I would go to the trouble to import it to Europe. Mercedes, Audi and even BMW to some extent have gone crazy these days and are putting screens on every inch of the dashboard. I have to say that the analogue gauges in this bring me a sense of comfort and look very attractive.

Totally with you on 'all functions on touchscreen' craze so many manufacturers are going with these days. What happens with the screen(s) fail? How are you going to operate the car then? Buttons, knobs, switches and controllers are tactile, easier and safer to operate. So at least for those often used functions, a few short-cut buttons are definitely welcome as far as I'm concerned. Oh and, the CT5 looks like a hell of a car. Shame we don't get it in Europe!

@@Kelveron Asking what happens when X fails is a cop out. My volume knob failed on my Honda. What do I do now? Same thing as when a screen breaks, I need to get it fixed. GM management needs to recognize that beautiful, high quality interiors sell cars, especially in the luxury segment. Too often the bean counters at GM get in the way. The instrument panel in this Cadillac looks too much like that of a Chevrolet. Cadillac badly needs its own high quality switches, not shared with any other GM product.

Every car has elements that are purely put on for styling. Just think of it that way. It's all arbitrary anyway, real or fake is not relevant in the end, as every element of the design is some decision to appear a certain way. If we lambast every nonfunctional vent and crease that isn't for aero, etc., then we miss the forest for the trees. I find I grow accustomed to most cars' quirks over time and end up enjoying them.

Really good review, I just wasted 20 minutes of my life watching another review of the CT5 V AWD and the bozo spent 3/4's of the review complaining about how it downshifts and down on it because the car isn't what the reviewer wanted it to be. Thank you for reviewing the car for what it is - excellent review! I am seriously considering the CT5 V AWD as my next car and your review gave me a good feel for the car. I'm also really interested in the CT4 V AWD, any plans on reviewing one? I currently own a '13 ATS and drove the CT4 AWD Premium Lux with 2.7. What a fantastic car! I agree, making it into a sportback would have allowed the cargo capacity to be more competitive in its market. Also if I remember correctly the CT5 has around 2 more inches or rear legroom than the BMW 3 series. If they would have reduced that by around 2 inches and increased the cargo capacity it would have been welcoming as well. Hell do both and it could probably be class leading in terms of cargo capacity if not matching the stinger.

My granddaughter has a Chevrolet I believe it is a 2017 or 2019 as she had a blowout on the highway when she found out that she did not have a spare tire I any kind of tools to change tires if she was able to locate one. Fortunately she had AAA and they were able to tow her car to a repair shop and I swore I would never buy a car without a spare tire and tools. So my one question to you even though I’m enjoying your video does the Cadillac have a spare tire? Before I even consider the purchase of one that’s the first thing I need to know. The part they supply with a little spare tire is only good for if you have a slow leak they never consider the fact that when you have a blowout you need to put a tire and rim on. Looking forward to your response. Can you order this car with a spare tire?

The last gen’s base CTS Luxury gauges were very different from this design and should’ve never made it inside the interior of a modern day Cadillac. These gauges are a tremendous upgrade over them and you’d know that if you were familiar with the car. Not to mention analog gauges are found in the competition from Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Audi at the price range. Let’s be more realistic here, in starting to think people are holding Cadillac to a higher standard than the Germans.

He is right about not being able to push these on public roads.I have a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT--and you better be on a HWY or long clear str8 to even push the pedal down past 50%.The HWY near me--I leave it in comfort mode and can be at triple digits with no sweat 2/3 the way down the ramp. The acceleration on these cars is close to what super cars were doing 10 to 15 years ago. The supercharged V8s are excellent but overkill.None of the hellcats or ZL1 in the street tire division were able to put the power down at the drag.I have vids of my stinger and I was able to beat 500 plus HP american cars. This car is just a hair slower then my Stinger--plus with AWD the power can be put down in almost every condition.I do agree with others they should have used the bigger v6 and this should have low to mid 400 HP--that way it can at least do sub 13 sec quarter miles which has become the standard in the class. The new AWD systems are fantastic and after owning my first modern one in my stinger--i will always spring for AWD--it makes the car much much better.

I have not liked the styling of the sail panel/C pillar right from the get go. I haven't liked the look on a Honda and I certainly don't like it on a Cadillac. Mimicking the styling of a Honda? Really Cadillac? Please aim a little higher. The overall silhouette is okay, but slapping on a piece of plastic that mimics a window? Blah 🤢 I agree with what you say about this car, Tom. Hey boys! Hand Tom another award please! 👍

I drove them for 3 years and had break down after break down. The service manager said to me..."what do you expect for $70,000?"

Back end is very Honda Accord, but overall, like the look. Love than engine note.

Should have quad climate control, digital dash option heated/cooled rear seats. Massaging front seats. Also panoramic stereo option. And, should've more horsepower than a non performance ct6 3.0tt. But, overall probably the best car out there for $60k

I will buy this car when they update the dash with that widescreen OLED from the 2021 Escalade...that's what's needed to make this a true luxury competitor against the Germans
