I had a Land Rover Discovery Sport it cost me 37k. I had nothing but problems. I kept up with services and mot's, too. It ended up on the back of a recovery truck twice. It was also parked at Land Rover for 3 months, number 13 in line waiting for a part of what wasn't even in the country. I spent probably 6k on all the repairs that it needed. I had to buy myself a little run around car to get me to and from work. I ended up paying the balloon balance and sold it to bmw. Oil leaks all over my driveway after 1 day with clunking noises from the rear, sounds like I had the same problems as yours. A quick fix by LR solved the leaks but did not resolve the noisy and rough gear changes. Lost trust in the safety and reliability of this Edition One SV so decided to return it. LR should never have delivered these faulty vehicles after your report. Now happily back in my 5yr old SVR until hopefully the next edition has resolved all the issues. PS The dealer was super efficient and professional through all the issues - shoutout to them.

Landrover are so reactive it's unreal. They have been having these issues for so many years now and people have been complaining about reliability, yet they are doing nothing about it. It's the same with the insurance problems that happened in the UK recently where their security on the cars are nothing to write home about and so easy to steal. This affected insurance prices as insurance companies said enough is enough..we are not insuring these cars any longer and if we do, we will charge between £10,000 to £15,000 a year to insure. People started cancelling orders, people who owned cars started to sell for cheap and orders for cars started to reduce especially with how expensive their cars are at the moment. Guess what? They immediately started calling every customer to come and upgrade the security on their cars..even though this issues has existed for 15 years. Their cars are beautiful and exude luxury but useless for reliability. Their customer service is horrendous, their service partners are unprofessional, rude and useless Good looking cars, terrible company to me

The moment they started comparing Range Rover with Rolls Royce, I simply stop watching it... Rolls Royce is made to last for 100 years, while Range Rover not even 20 years with 10 years spent in garage....

amazing... I've owned generation 1 and 2 ranger rover sport... never a single problem, except once the alternator went kaput at around 80,000 miles on my gen 2. I guess I've just been lucky.

Why do people continue to buy these piles of crap! If someone gave me a brand new one for free, I'd trade it straightaway before it broke down.

You pick your poison with this car 1-it breaks down after leaving the dealership 2- it gets stolen

After 15 years of Land Rover ownership and 217,000 miles experience, I can only say that my cars have been outstandingly good and the service I have had and still get from the Dealership has been perfect. To hear of the problems on this video is very disappointing but it sounds like they have had a batch of faulty parts…this should not happen and only fuels those who jump to attack JLR at every opportunity. So many regard owners as being “ mugs” or stupid fashion victims or idiots for buying them but the reality is that we are mostly thoughtful and reasoning people who would jump to another brand of the situation was really what you read from Facebook warriors. I have owned 74 cars…a new BMW needed a full engine rebuild at 1400 miles after the valve gear broke up….a JEEP Was a disaster from just one mile after collecting the car from the dealership and after two years of constant trouble and recoveries, I sold it as a non runner. Mercedes were perfect to drive but the Dealership experience was simply dreadful and involved trying to charge for work not needed and faults that didn’t exist. There is more but my point is that JLR has been the best over all experience and even in this film, they were fast to help and correct the problem. I know they are deeply upset about how things have gone…the theft problem was solved in 2022 but the old cars suffered as we know but no more than any other keyless entry car. I cannot change the mind of those who hate Land Rover but am still hoping to get a new RR Sport Autobiography very soon…I’m not too concerned about failings but do know it will be outstanding to drive as it does the job I need…as in the past 14 years. 🙂🙂🙂

IMO, the 4.4 V8 sounds much better than the 5.0. It's a far more cultured sound, which means you don't sound like a boy racer in a near £200k car.

Love these vehicles but it’s tragic that Land Rover can’t make them reliable and easy to maintain.

Imagine how good Land Rover would be if they weren't so unreliable. They could rule the world!

This car even sources its engine from BMW, gearbox from ZF...so basically LR engineers are struggling to put together a shell around those? Baffling

Even with all the crappy stats on these , you still buy one , some people get what they deserve.

Just having the same issue with mine but good old Land rover Norwich says they won't even look at the car for 6 weeks not including repair, its shamful, needless to say Range rover SV for sale 600miles only

Now you know why JLR vehicles are known in the automotive industry as “Electrical Faults”.

As an owner of 5 Range Rovers inclusive of 2 SVR’s I can safety say that they are absolute rubbish. I now drive a Toyota Land Cruiser

I'd ban SUVS in the UK. The only people who need a Land Rover are farmers, the military, emergency services and other agencies who need a 4WD vehicle. Prospective owners should be vetted. Personally, I'd ban 99 percent of them. Amazing that people still buy JLR. More money than sense.

I have a 2006 Freelander HSE td4 it has done 201000 miles all over European Union, still going strong serviced every 6000 miles, 10w40 oil. Beautiful, and I would never buy a new one ever, im after a series Land Rover now just as extra wheels.

More likely it wasn't a seal, most likely they didn't put enough or any oil in the transfer case. This would not be the first time LR have done this.

I don’t think I’ve seen many videos that would ever convince me to buy a Range Rover. I love these cars and I’ve been driving a Jag Xk for twelve years that has always driven beautifully without any issues. Whilst Jag have a bad name, the newer cars have been better for some time. Unfortunately the same thing cannot be said for Land Rover from what I’ve read. Saying this my second car is a FreeLander 2 that has always been quite reliable.

I’ll stick to my wonderful L322 - analogue buttons, and only an LCD screen for the clocks and entertainment system Why do car manufacturers always use these screens incorporating EVERY function. I had a similar issue, it was the transfer box.

This is a damning indictment of JLR product reliability and QC! For the love of God hire some Toyota / Lexus quality engineers! 👎🏻

It'd be nteresting to know what OEM makes that transfer box? Bosch?.. how old is the design? how long has it been used? and in what models/brands?, cheers
@jeffreygreer87826 ай бұрын
Transfer case! Experience some bumping as if some one is bumping you from behind only taking off, then goes away. Usually it’s un noticeable until the transfer case warms up then you get the bumping feel. When the noise went a way the vehicle probably just went to rear wheel drive and couldn’t read the front wheel speed. Surprise it didn’t throw a million codes and limp mode.

My thought too, it had no dash codes at all, the obd showed faults but no lights to dash🤷🏼♂️
