Living over 50 years in US, this brinks me back to my youth, to places I new so well, skiing in Poprad, Strbske Pleso with my college friends. Just got back from Europe, taking voluntary quarantine, I found you, and since I love riding on trains, thank you so much to make me feel happy even in this different times... will be looking for all your wonderful trips, thanks.

Hi, Poprad in one of Europe's hidden gems, no one knows its there, it rivals any ski resort in Europe and at a fraction of the price. You must have some awesome memories from those far off days. I am stuck in Lock-down, I'm really missing travelling, hopefully the vaccine now being rolled out will make travelling a little easier in the near future. I hope you enjoyed your recent trip to Europe.

The driver put our train though its paces on this route, he couldn't really hang around as our train was travelling long distances most days on single track railways, where it had to fit in with the regular traffic. Take care. Tim.

Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. Not just the arrow, but the switch as well in the wrong position at 21:52 It looks so wrong to be on a train that pushes the switch over as it passes through.

Hello Tim! I made up for all the pending videos from Slovakia. Now I know what you have for a great camera. I got two new lenses for my eyes. No comparison to earlier. I look like a bird of prey. Can now enjoy your beautiful videos again. Now read the newspaper from a distance of 1 yard. Now I will contact you more often. I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas. There is nothing better than to see well again. Greetings from Hans.🚂👍

Hello Hans, that is really good news, I have to wear glasses for intricate or close up work these days, I'd be lost without them. I've spent half my working life developing the equipment for inserting lenses into people eyes, but I haven't been brave enough to get my own eyes fixed. It became more complicated when they started manufacturing bifocal lenses, because they need to be both the right way round and the right way up. Most of the early procedures were carried out on pigs because their eyes are similar to human eyes. Somewhere there is a field of pigs, some of which see the world upside down or very small because the equipment was still under development and things didn't always go to plan. Christmas Greetings from Tim in England.

Thank you Tim for the detailed explanation. But one thing I can tell you. I never believed that a human could ever see so well. You only believe that after the operation. At 20 years old I did not see as well as now. That's a difference like sun and moon. I'm so thankful for medicine. Greetings from Hans.👍

Hi Tim, known, you like best digital cameras. Now I find a newest DJI Osmo Pocket gimbal (very good stabilised) real 4K camera, by Hasselblad basis, and for 359 € only -- it's fantastish! And this is first super compact gimbal camera when I prefer to bue it... Maybe in new shooting season :-) See it please here: store.dji.com/product/osmo-pocket And camera reviews, for example, watch here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHKxlJakdr9gipo And here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6elqZ9mnqeZZ9U /It's NOT a reclam! I sincerely wish to share the good news./
@Timsvideochannel16 жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck, that new Osmo Pocket looks good. I have a DJI Osmo camera, it is very good, but takes too long to set up for most of the things I do. My Sony cameras have floating lenses in them, even the action cam, but the camera that has impressed me the most is my GoPro 6 Black edition, it has really good stabilization built in. The video you are watching is taken with two Sony cameras, the little Sony action camera was big improvement on my old GoPro 3 Black Edition. The diesel locomotive this film was shot from vibrated a lot, it would have defeated my earlier cameras, but the little Sony and the GoPro 6 shot reasonable footage. I am going to New Zealand early next year and I will buy the new GoPro Hero7 Black Edition, as I was so impressed with Hero 6, Hopefully I will be able to get some really steady cab footage whilst I am there. It will be interesting to see how people get on with the new DJI Pocket. Stay warm. Tim.
@chucksandos89396 жыл бұрын
Good morning Tim! Sure, you have many cameras of the compact class by 2+ firms, and you can compare these completely. But you haven't not one camera with true 'gimbal' system, isn't it? At any previouse time I not watched none cameras of this class and possibility, when has such reasonable design and this attractive price to performance ratio quality, like this camera (i.e. Osmo Pocket). So the Hero 6 has such programm ('electronic' only) stabilisation, without any mechanical stab. It's good for any part of conditions, but it's bad for other parts -- when amplitude of rocking is too great -- for example, of shooting on going: what the cameras do well with electronic "gyroscopic" stabilizer, such as Sony 300/3000, or we are considering here. (Of course, any action camera, and not only this one, can be installed on suitable gimbal stab, but it turns out to be big, expensive and heavy "combine", hehehe...) The Sony camera is very good, but 'internal gimbal' are not very powerful, alas!.. Sure, and I prefer wait a part of time for see how people get on with the new DJI Pocket! :-) Take care. Chuck P.S. The Sun run up at morning today again! So our weather are very unstable now...

Very nice ride. Is it higher quality (4K) when filming at the end (passenger view)? Thanks anyway for sharing. Arne👍
@Timsvideochannel15 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it and "yes" the passenger views were filmed in 4K, it still shows even when the video is uploaded at 1080P. The little GoPro's and Sony Action cams do a great job for their size, but even when set at 4K they are no match for their bigger cousins, unfortunately it is not practical to set up full size cameras in the locomotive cab on these trips.

lindo recorrido Timsvideochannel1, lastima que ya no tengo a mi padre para mostrarselo, vino muy joven a Argentina
@Timsvideochannel16 жыл бұрын
Google Translate - Did your father tell you about his home country? It is a beautiful place. Slovakia looks much the same today as it did 50 years ago, the attractive towns and villages have not been spoiled by modern development as elsewhere in Europe, the railways are still open. I would love to visit Argentina one day to ride the "Old Patagonian Express".

That train was crossing junction few seconds before (when trains crosses junction, its mandatory to have panto down), and as you see in 42:04 loco was again going on other junction (on right side of track), so loco driver decide to leave panto down.
