Would you do a video on what happened to John the Mongolian offroader i know the basic story but would love to know more about who made it and what happened, i am hoping that someone in Mongolia just stored it away rather than scrapped it. Think it would be nice to semi restore this car get it back and up and running it may be possible to clear coat some of the underside and other areas, keep the patina but prevent further corrosion, although i would probably want to restore it back to best condition but a bit torn with it being a bit of TV history.

Due to complications and the intense money and paperwork involved in bringing John to the UK from Mongolia, Amazon decided that it'd be better if they scrapped him off in Mongolia, with only his bravery and adventures in TV remaining a memory to what a great car he was.......😢

More than likely the front brakes were swapped to a smaller diameter to fit the smaller diameter wheels which are required to run the offroad tires with taller sidewalls. Factory rears fit under the wheels so no need to swap those. Pretty typical with rally prep for subarus, evos etc

I've been wishing for so long to know what happened to this car. It's probably the most memorable one out of the three for me. Partly because it was more tastefully modified and better looking than the other two, but mostly because it was undoubtedly the best sounding. I hope whoever buys it next does it some justice and get's it properly cleaned up.

The reason it was able to get into the country full of foreign sand etc will be because it was already registered in the UK. I've looked at importing a few cars from the USA into the UK and the British regulations do stipulate that the vehicle has to be clean of dirt, plant matter etc.

I'd give that car a full service; all new fluids, filters, spark plugs, etc. Scrub it inside and out, take the torn two rear straps off, (bag them up for history), rust proof it underneath, go through the brakes, fix the suspension, and enjoy.

If this car was cleaned immediately after the desert, the salt might have done less damage. However, absolutely all the bushings, aluminum, steel, wiring, connectors, etc that are inaccessible will continue to corrode. To make things worse, this car has had sand/salt on the inside, as well as the outside.

Still gutted the Grand tour has ended! Clarkson said there was many reasons why but only highlighted the fact that electric cars are just white goods and he's not interested, an opinion i share but has any other reasons been given as to why all three have chosen to jack it in despite its huge success? I know it's not relevant to the video, I did enjoy sandjob, but it wasn't really a stand-out episode, May with the train was the best part imo.

10 ply tires require a minimum of 45 PSI to achieve the right contact patch. Looks like yours are around 35. Terrible thing to do to 1400 dollars worth of tires.

Just from one man with hairloss to anyone else in that situation: I'm not sponsored by them but Regain (or whatever the actual thing with the actual studies behind it with actual Monixidil is called in your spot) actually works for me!!! I'm seeing new hair in those corners that went deeper and deeper into my lucious hair...not quite the same Archer-like thickness it used to have but let's wait and see. What is Lada?

Lada was the Soviet state owned car manufacturer that made cars which were basically the same car as the Skoda of the 70s-80s. I could be slightly wrong about the dates, but the rest is accurate. I believe Lada 'Sovietised' a few European brand cars. I know they made a version of the Fiat 124; it was made more robust to deal with the poor roads and weather in Russia.
