The hip and pelvic girdle are so complex it is easy to get confused about what muscles perform what action. I really like how in-depth you went explain each muscle and what they contribute to during everyday movements

Prof Goodin does a great job of going through all the muscles in the hip and thigh region and explaining their actions. A muscle I learned about in this video is the gemellus superior and inferior. They are deep to the gluteus medius and responsible for lateral rotation.

In this video, Dr. Goodin discusses the muscles of the hip and pelvis and their actions. I like how he explained when hip flexors are used to do hip flexion and when hip extensors contract eccentrically to do hip flexion. The difference has always been a bit confusing for me so hearing it stated more clearly was very helpful. Then he discussed the muscles by grouping them into their positions and actions. This was helpful as they will most likely stayed grouped in my mind as I study and will help me locate the muscles and determine their line of pull and action as he discussed in the video. Having the pictures there are also helpful to visual it while memorizing the muscles and their actions. Then he described each muscle's actions which was very helpful and showed pictures of the muscles isolated while describing the line of pull. Hearing the actions of the muscles described and explained helps me as I am memorizing them because I am able to visualize them better if I understand the line of reasoning to their location and action.
