It is 3:00 pm here in the Philippines. I completely agree with fasting. A friend got kidnapped several years ago and was a diabetic on medication. With his situation in the hinterlands, scarcity of food, no medication, dragging period of ransom negotiation, he suddenly was relieved of his diabetes and high blood pressure. What a blessing! However he passed three years later due to cancer of the throat. He was a chain smoker. Thanks for your telling us truth.

@@skm60016 It's difficult to do in a comment, I'll give it a try. We become resistant to insulin (type 2) because we have too much. Your goal should be to lower insulin production and insulin spikes. anything you eat will cause a spike of insulin, but carbohydrates have the most impact and raise insulin the most. Cut out carbs, they're the source of constant hunger, cravings, and weight gain. Next, lower the frequency of eating. This means fasting. Start with 3 or 4 meals a day and cut back to 2 or even 1. No snacking at all. When you eat, eat whole foods with fiber. stay away from processed foods. If it has more than 5 ingredients avoid it. You'll have to educate your self on all the crap they put in our food supply and cut out what you can . It's not easy, but anything worth doing isn't easy. I'm over 2 years in and still in remission. We don't tolerate carbs well that's why we became diabetic. come to peace with the fact that your life will need to change and you have to give up some of the carby goodness you're used to. If not, you'll end up loosing parts of your body before you're gone. Read DR Fung's books. Look up Eric Berg and Robert Lustig here and listen to their message. cc: @Santosh Naik @Ligays Sanyarin @Mizz Khan

But still, there are something that Fung's suggestions don't cover. Fung's therapy covers only who are diabetic due to insuline resistance, hyperinsilinema or obesity. But unfortunately, there are many patients who were never obese but get type-2 diabetes. His policy doesn't cover beta cell dysfunction. He said insulin resistance causes beta cell dysfunction afterwards. And beta cell dysfunctions happen only when fat infiltration into pancreas. But I believe fat infiltration into the pancreas is not the only source of causation. There could involve other causes such as inflammation, autoimmunity (yeah like type1), lack of raw vegetables etc.

I am not a patient of Dr fungs but I found him after an officer put me up for a medical evaluation to keep my driver's licence, my blood sugar was 300 and my blood pressure was 165/110 and my A1C was 9.5 . My doctor said he could not allow me to drive and notified DMV and they took my license away. One month later after starting Dr Fungs extreme fasting last Friday I saw my doctor again to be reevaluated again and my A1C was 7.2 and my blood pressure is down to 130/80 and my doctor has reversed his decision so I'm getting my license back very soon. PS I've lost 20 LBS in the process. Thank you Dr Fungs for what you've done to save our home on wheels our motorhome. My wifes gone blind and am the only driver. Ajay Kusumo this type of diet that Dr Fung recommends and fasting is how diabetes was treated years ago. Not sure when insulin was invented but it wasnt the greatest stuff. My Italian grandmother was diagnosed with type 2 was put on insulin. She did not manage the insulin well and had lots of lows and her doctors stopped the insulin. So she gave up the pasta etc, didnt eat as often, lost a lot of weight and died of a heart attack in her old age. Part of the difficulty as time went on is thst her son developed the disease. Started with pills then insulin but the diet that was given to him had carbs like grains and off all fat. He did live long but with a lot of diseases that diabetics get, eye disease and neuropathy. I am only borderline and follow Dr Fung with diet and fasting. Feeling great and numbers are good. He is great

Sorry Jason, but fasting when you're T2DM is anything but easy. You can't get that "energy" for days of overwhelming hunger due to failure of ketosis. This is because the liver's gluconeogenesis is in overdrive feeding you carbs whether you want them or not. Even if you do manage to become ketotic by the end of the day you have to start from square one thanks to the dawn effect.

Bike Vids , I moved my money from a bank to a federal credit union. Credit unions are non-profits. If the credit union has a financial advisor on staff, you can move your non-retirement plan, college education savings account, and non-retirement investment money to the credit union, too. A lot of investment companies have, like banks, become publicly-traded corporations. Vanguard is one investment company that doesn't trade its stock on the stock market. Instead, Vanguard sells its stock to its own Vanguard mutual funds. Thus, the clients are also the stockholders. There might be other investment companies that do likewise. I am not a financial advisor. So, do not invest in anything that I say; instead, consult your financial advisor.

I was recently diagnosed with an A1C of 6.6. The dietician told me low carb is not the way to go. My meals are supposed to have total carbs of 40-60 per meal. I have been following the diet and I have lost weight and my blood sugars have been good. My doc wanted to put me on Metformin and I had said that I would rather try with diet and exercise first before going on meds. She is giving me 3 months, retest my A1C and fasting blood. I have been researching low carb and I wonder why they are so against it when it has shown to help people more than the traditional recommendations. I think that a lot of the time, the pharmaceutical industry plays a huge role in how we as patients are being treated.

Alopathy is a captured industry. To suggest a regimen that is not the "standard of care" is to risk your medical license and your practice. The Banting diet was created by an obese diabetic mortician in Britain. He practiced the diet, lost weight, put his diabetes into remission, wrote the book, and lived to a ripe old age. Banting is the ketogenic diet. Your carb intake is 3x too high for a ketogenic diet. Your dietician and your md have other considerations than your health. It's sad but true. Your diet, and your health is in your hands alone.
@camgere

I got pretty much the same advice about carbs. In my case it was 35 grams of carbs per meal (no more, no less) and a 15 g. carb snack before bed. I thought is odd because it didn't seem to be tied to my current weight. There are petite women who weigh half of what I do. The same number of carbs, really? Absolutely nothing about eliminating pasta, pastry, pancakes, bread, corn, potatoes and French fries. I can eat (plain) hamburger, steak, eggs, olive oil, cheese, cabbage, kale and Brussel sprouts and my blood sugar is fine. Even worse, advice wise, insulin turns excess blood sugar to fat (unless you are an athlete or Amazon Fulfillment Center worker) and prevents you from burning fat for fuel. The insulin cure is likely to make you fatter and require more insulin. Good, if you are the pusherman. A last choice strategy in my opinion.

Low carb was never discussed when I was diagnosed 18 years ago...I followed the low fat/"good carb" endocrinologist prescribed meal plan and gained, then they just added meds. Dr Jason Fung, Dr. Sarah Hallberg, and Dr Ken Berry and coaxing by my brother got my on Keto. Less than seven months later my A1c dropped from 11.0 to 7.0!! 18 years of Drugs and bad advice. I'm sticking with lowcarb/highfat & intermittent fasting forever. Any plan that gets my morning fasting glucometer readings down from 299 to 109 is nothing short of miraculous. (And angry? You betcha especially for the first three months as both sugars and weight dropped without effort. ) Now.. no insulin, no victoza, no invoccana and I've cut my last drug to a quarter dose..soon to be drug free!

In the uk few dieticians are honest enough to face up to the fact they have been getting it wrong all these years. Not their fault, the food pyramid is upside down, the Low Fat industry has persuaded everyone to cut out fat. But they really should face up to the fact that those two diabetes is a condition where we cannot metabolise carbohydrates...for reasons of insulin resistance. So what is the blasted point of giving us diets full of the very things which are making us ill? 🤬

I am incredibly thankful for your work. I've read the obesity code and the diabetes code and thanks to that my mom was able to lose 40 kilos since February, she no longer needs to use insulin, her metformin dose was lowered, her blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol are great. She has diabetic nephropathy, and we are trying to prevent or delay dialysis, which she was told she'll eventually need. However, her doctor adviced her to start eating bread, pasta and rice again... She supposedly needs a "more balanced diet in order not to keep losing weight"🥴 it kind of feels like her doctor wants her sick again!

Hey Angie, hope you are well. Need some tips from you. I am newly diagnosed with type 2 where A1C was 12.5. Since then i have reduced my cabs intake as much as i can. Could you please your experience what other precautions you took to reverse it. And yes after walk of 80 minutes my blood sugar goes below 5. And yes i am fasting for almost 12 hours a day. And having only 2 meals per day.
@trknangel
@trknangel 3 жыл бұрын
@@rehanakhtar4347 I do 24 hour fasts. Drink water and herbal teas. Add a pinch of xanthan gum to your tea or coffee. Xanthan gum is a sugar magnet and helps remove sugar. Also take Bitter Melon supplement, or if you can find it eat the actual bitter melon. Bitter melon is a staple in Asian diet this the low diabetes in asian countries. I google all foods before eating them. Since insulin is a hormone all foods will respond differently in your body. Foods dietitians say are diabetic friendly cause my BS to spike. Foods that they say are bad such as pork and beef actually lower my BS. When it comes to diabetes it's not a one size fits all. It's up to you to figure out which foods coincide with your hormones. Only way to do that is test one food at a time. Such as pork. Test your BS first then 2 hours after you eat it to see how your body reacts to it. It takes time but well worth the effort. 24 hour fasts was the key. Then eat a low calorie low carb diet. Woke up this morning and BS was 117. I won't eat until my BS is down in the 80's today. When I first started my BS was in the 468 and I wouldn't eat anything until I was at least 100 points below that. As my numbers came down I would let my BS get a minimum 100 lower as my body adjusted to new lower sugar levels. If you feel shakey drink lots of water. It gets rid of the shakes.
@trknangel
@trknangel 3 жыл бұрын
@@rehanakhtar4347 12 hour fasts wasn't working fast enough for me so I did 24 hour fasts. The longer you can fast the more your liver will dump the stored insulin. When your liver does a dump your BS will spike for a short period but then go lower then it was previously. I got to where I looked forward to a spike because I knew my liver was dumping stored sugar and it was exiting my body.

I recommend that dr. Jason Fung receives Nobel prize for his work. I took diabetes training at Kaiser in Fall 2016 (that is company I have medical insurance with) and diabetes was presented as chronic and progressive disease and we were recommended to watch portion control, follow Standard American Diet, and exercise. It was emphasized not to skip breakfast since it is the most important meal of the day. None of the information presented by dr. Fung was included in the education. Most of people attending training were people over 55 and most of us were overweight and obese.

Dr. Fung my gut told me (pun intended) that fasting was the answer. I am doing this to the max. Sugar and candy are gone. I am very blessed to have found this video. God is very real! I am so excited to do this! I already reversed Type 2 diabetes once by changing my diet and losing 100 pounds. I love myself and I am going to prove that by doing what my beautiful temple is begging me to do! I am going to follow you and get this started. I just got out of the ER today. I refused Insulin because I told them it was the problem in the first place. I also challenged them and told them that I was refusing to commit myself to remaining diseased. I walked out with less Metformin and Victoza. They said Victoza is super expensive but my insurance covered it for a 2 months supply. Victoza helps by peeing out the excess sugars! That's a good thing. It will help me get a handle on this and help me reverse Type 2 diabetes once again! It is rotten that medical professionals give people insulin and drugs to make them think that will cover them when they continue to gorge themselves with carbs and sugar. Know what I love more than toxic foods, carbs, and sugar? Myself!

About 10 days ago I was googling to try to understand why I get indigestion if I don't eat every few hours, or from doing housework or gardening. I read about a condition called "dyspepsia", found it was due to insulin resistance and from there found your videos. So much of what I heard was so familiar. I can't fast because I get pain if I do, but I have gone high fat, low carb, no processed foods. Within days the indigestion stopped, my lower back pain was mostly gone, my entire body lost it's puffiness, and I felt taller. Someone I live with even commented that my posture has improved. It is almost like I can feel my body rebuilding itself after decades of fat restriction.

+Jason Fung I started Intermittent Fasting the day I just came accross one of your videos, I just stumbled across your video and I am so glad I did, I've fasted using the 16:8 every day and the hunger pangs are getting less frequent, at the beginning of the fast it was really difficult but I remembered some of what you said in your videos and this helped me not to give up because contrary to popular belief like you mention many times, you're not starving when you're fasting, it's just merely our auto pilot grabbing a bar of chocolate, a doughnut or whatever and it's giving into a crave rather than real hunger, cut the craves and the "hunger" pangs decrease and what I've learned so far through IF is, part of why we eat is learned from our parents, caregivers etc It's like learning the same task but in a new way that is so beneficial to our health and wellbeing, thanks you for doing these videos, I'm passing on the information to friends and some are listening :)

Doctor, you have given me so much hope. I’ve been overweight and or obese most of my adult life and diabetic for the past 5 years. I thought there was no cure until I stumbled upon your videos. I have been watching and reading everything you’ve done on fasting and diabetes and I am so hopeful now. I’m doing 16/8 and 24 alternating, following the plan I got from your website. Thank you so much for changing my life.

My father started insulin in 1971 and had heart attack in spring 1974 . He had 2nd heart attack in 1978 . He lived until 1990 and was 86 when he died. He went downhill with insulin.In his 70’s he went partially blind,He could see to get around but could no longer read or see people’s facial features.His circulation in legs got stopped up and he could only walk short distances. He was lucky not to have any amputations . Dad was brainwashed with the calorie and fat myth. Harped about how fat had more calories than other foods related to my weight .I was in my 20’s and not fat .IF Dad had known what Dr Fung talks about I’m sure he would have lived longer and kept his eyesight. Dad was a doctor !!!

That's very telling. Most learning occurs as a desire to know answers. That thirst gets beaten out of interns, many of whom are quite young when they start. Dr. Fung had a desire to know and a passion for his patients to live. My father also died in 90, on Memorial day fro. Heart disease. I am convinced he had undiagnosed diabetes. I'm sorry for your loss.

Wow that's an incredible good insight thankyou for sharing, one of my 90 year old customers who I see once a year is going down hill fast now from the same diebetes ailments, another aquantance of mine who ignored his early diebetic diagnosis is now at age 70 in a nursing home with amputated legs - when my mother started taking insulin she felt so much better, a lady who enjoyed 3 teaspoons of sugar in her tea, thank god for forty years she went over to sacrine sweetener instead.

Sorry for that. Few people want to look back and see what caused the issue especially of they are from medical field or scientists/educated in a profession. I totally agree with Dr. Fung if lifestyle brought this things then changing it's the cure not medicine to stay afloat.

Sorry for your loss. Exact same story with me. Only, my dad (a doctor as well) didn't have diabetic retinopathy but he had severe neuropathy and at the end, nephropathy. I SO wish I knew about this long ago...

Jason Fung....you are awesome! Thank you for sharing and for everything your doing. Integrity is very rare in the medical field these days when it comes to many things. I went into the hospital with a bloodsugar level of 800. They put me on an IV and then started insulin. They would not answer my questions about the insulin and the carbs they wanted me to eat while at the hospital. In fact, my sugar level went down to 97 at around midnight and told me I needed more insulin and food to bring it up! They took me up to 397 and they were happy. I was upset. I am now home and they told me to take 10 units of insulin twice, daily. I have decided to change the things I'm eating and start fasting as well.Also going to start using vitamin and mineral supplements in liquid form. No more refined foods, especially sugar. I will drink green tea with no sugar. Thank you for being here!

Well...my average bloodsugar level is around 140 daily...I haven't dropped my natural reserves fully...more fasting! I have been taking liquid minerals daily and have eliminated soda and fruit juices. I am drinking teas with natural Stevia and watching my carb intake. I will try to keep updating...let me know how your doing, I would certainly appreciate your sharing, thank you herbielina!

+skyseasun333 Great news in the 140. Are you off any RX meds for Diabetes? I cannot believe how easy this is! And even though I am 150lbs overweight, how much better I feel. Just in a couple weeks I have my hormone back that gives me a 'full' feeling. I am comfortable with the 20 hour fast a day. Hoping to do longer ones, but I want to go slow, because I'm sure I have fatty liver disease, undiagnosed. Got the Doctors new book, it's wonderful! God speed you on your journey.

Dr. Fung, thanks for your generosity and hard work in putting these videos together. I live in Panama and the local doctor just smiled like the proverbial Cheshire cat as he perused my medical test results announcing that I had diabetes (300+). He took out his prescription pad and sent me off for Metformin which I had never heard of. I felt like I had been given a death sentence. I hate to use the term "reformed" as it reminds me of an ex girlfriend who called herself a "reformed" smoker cutting back from 2 packs a day to 9 cigarettes, but i am now a "reformed" sugar addict down to no sugar for over a month since the diagnosis and am experimenting with fasting. Your way is the right way and I commend you for your "out of the box" approach to treating this condition.

Thank you doctor Fung; you're really Godsend! Dietitians tell their patient's to eat every 4 hours, omg! Luckily I can't eat more than 2 or 3 times a day; many times I only eat twice because if I'm working on a difficult project, I forget to have lunch.

Thanks Dr Fung. I started a diet program on low carb shakes (manshake) Having been diabetic for 15yrs on metformin, insulin (around 70 units). My Dr told me it was progressive and would end up on more and more medication. Well after 6 weeks, I have stopped all my insulin, with fast sugars around 5-6 now. Side benefit, I have started loosing the 15kgs I put on after starting the insulin. Your information just confirms what I discovered myself by accident. Thanks so much for spreading the word

On Diabetic meds (Gliclazide and Metformin), my blood pressure still needed 16mg per day of Atacand. Went Carnivore, was able to stop all Diabetes meds same day, was able to stop Atacand after 1 month. Blood pressure was 235/131, regulated down to 140/80. Yesterday it was 120/71 without meds.
