The past few years I have had really bad pms most months..horrible cramps, extreme fatigue, dizziness, sweating, hallucinating. A few months ago I cleaned up my diet drastically and my last few periods haven’t been that bad at all. This time I barely had any cramps. I’ve been seed cycling and start drinking raspberry tea during the luteal phase. But in general just eating real food and avoiding ultra processed foods and being more active has changed things dramatically for me.

i SUFFERED horribly from PMS my whole menses until 40! what halted it IN ONE CYCLE was what i ate: red meat 2x day, low starch veggies, oatmeal am. i ate as much as i wanted and boooom it ended! amazing! my body was depleated in this particular type of protein.

My anxiety is worse around my period and ovulation. I know my hormones are not working correctly. I'm on day 83 of carnivore. I lost 4.5 inches of belly fat in 3 months. It's definitely helped

Can you talk about how to treat menopausal symptoms?
@carolmatteson24534 ай бұрын
I take chasteberry (400mg) and pregnenolone (50 mg) daily in morning

Also check out Dr Mindy Pelz, expert in Womens health. There's also a longer interview between Dr Hyman and DrPelz. These to doctors changed my post menopause life, and I'm hoping my daughter, whom my misguided self encouraged to take bcps, will be open to learn from these doctors who are tackling our epidemic of poor metabolic health

Doc, really appreciate your thorough video on the topic and exact supplements and food advised. I noticed that since I take magnesium glycinate before sleep I feel much better when it comes to the quality of sleep and overall stability during the day.

Thank you! If I could like this video a million times I would. There aren't enough doctors who truly try to understand what women go through and how to help us without dismissing us completely or falling back on some pharmaceutical algorithm for meds to treat symptoms rather than actually addressing the cause of the troublesome symptoms and dealing with that. Meds seem to be the easiest and quickest cognitive option for most doctors who are time crunched and trying to get through more patients in a days time. This isn't optimal for patient health. Also, anti-depressants and re-branded anti-depressants seem to be over prescribed and given out like candy for many different conditions these days, including female hormone issues, but most people don't know about or understand the truly ill effects that these meds can and do have on our bodies and how they can make mental and physical health worse... this problem compounds itself, especially with add on meds used to treat symptoms caused by the anti-depressants that were prescribed in the first place; i.e., agitation, insomnia, suicidal ideation, and sexual dysfunction to name just a few. They can also create unhelpful structural brain changes. Anything that causes sexual dysfunction is likely not benefitting women or men's hormonal health. The logic for anti depressant use to treat symptoms of hormone dysregulation in any human isn't complete or accurate. Anti depressants do make big pharma lots of money. Women's hormonal health is a quality of life issue that is important. We don't necessarily want anti-depressants or birth control pills but for most doctors these are the go to treatments for pms, pcos, and sometimes menopausal symptoms. It's not right. Women deserve quality health care just as much as men. Sadly, we are often dismissed, even by female doctors and even when we present with similar conditions, not related to female hormones, for which men are more likely to be taken seriously and to receive follow up testing and/ or treatment. I am so glad you do what you do and that you share truly valuable information to help us get healthy and stay healthy. Thanks again!!!

What about grass fed butter when eliminating dairy?

For me PMS was resolved just by eliminating soy, which was VERY difficult (start reading labels).

I agree with all of this. Add Vit D3/K2 for reduced inflammation (and anti inflammatory foods and spices). Also, homeopathic pellets like Sulphur and Thuja have worked for me, Sepia and Sabina are good too. Look up your symptoms to find corresponding remedies and they sometimes help multiple health issues at once and help clue you in to what areas of the body to focus on. Good health and good luck. 🕊

How about oxalates in veg? Fibre has been known to do more damage and too much effects the gut in a negative way. How about lugol's iodine for the thyroid as we are all deficient?

Besides the general keto diet tenets, fasting and bringing down sugar/insulin. Other than the probiotic food and maybe some apple cider vinegar, what can I do to help my gut if I have been on pen VK for 48 years, also levothyroxine for the same amount of time. I've been on other long term meds. I drank too much pop, I had a drinking problem for a while, terrible sad diet, etc. I got off Omeprazole, metropolol, statins. Cut out sugar, most bad refined carbs, bad oils. I want to totally get acid reflux under control.
