My main is an engineer and I love me some drones. I often swap between that and my WoW elemental shaman build. Never bothered parsing but if you're wanting more weapon damage I go for Iconian lobi staff, Tenavik's counsel and sniper traits. On normal difficulty I've one-shotted captain rank enemies before.

12:20: Everyone always goes next to the bridge, but I like to take my my Engineer and dig in right near where you drop down setting up a crossfire. It seems best there since she uses lots of turrets, mortars, and crowd control modules.

The Dot-32 Drone (Eng) is so good and better on an Engineer that the Dot-32 Drone (Tac), the overcharge that the Dot-32 Drone (Eng) does 90 dps for 7 seconds to a nearby enemy is so good, it just doesn't give the dot-23 drone overcharge but all you mechanical Pets including the Elachi Walker, turrents etc. If you time your pet summons you can have this buff up most of the time with you 5 to 10+ pets the damage is great.

I tested both the tac and eng version of the dot-23 with the build in big hunt and the tac version did better each time. Though with this build I don't have access to the secondary attacks because all the kit modules are drones, I haven't had a chance to test with those yet. But for the sake of this build, the tac is the better option based on my tests.

@@Stu1701 I am just recently getting into a drone build. idea came to me prior to this vid. its strange that in your test the Tac Dot-23 drone did more dmg. since all the Dot-23 primary fire list the same dps. So unless the secondary fire on the dot 23 (Tac) is being triggered, there could be some funky math going on behind the scenes that make the Tac Dot-23 scale better? btw the DOT-23 (Eng) 'overcharge' procs from Mudd's time device also for anyone that just has to have that kit ( I know I do)

so if you didnt get the Imperial Assault set what would the alternative items be then?

Since you like the Ba'ul Obelisks, you could pick up a decent AP weapon and Tenavik's Counsel (Ground trait). I run that on my main, alongside the Omega AP Carbine. The Herald staff would probably be better, since it chains damage.

Regarding the Dot-23 (tac) drone, you can maintain 100% uptime on their heavy beam attack if you use a versatile kit frame with vascular regenerator (fleet research lab) and just keep clicking it. Not really a suggestion for this build as much as in general. It's a powerful combo since the vasc regen also clears debuffs.

Does the Xindi DOff cooldown also apply to enginerring/intel bridge officers with drone/turret abilities?
@Stu17012 жыл бұрын
Just the engineering ones.

@@Stu1701 Cool thanks. I rock an all-Engineering away team and wondered if they’d apply to their drones and turrets too. Also found Rainbow Tribble stacks when given to boffs too!

Fabrication guy: I tested this when making my engineer build video. It's around a 20% chance and actually spawns TWO extra drones when it triggers. If this sounds like the purple quality doffs for extra beam turrets and mortars.... yeah..... that. also you can Use more than one IIRC. About the Xindi guy: it's NOT weird for doffs to work on Captain powers. Several are specific to captain powers... like the Fabrication guy..... Or the Security team doffs.... It's atypical for it to be a kit OR captain power, but, most doffs that are power specific only work on one thing. so it's the fact it works on two categories that's weird to me. But... there's also Biologists who work on a captain power and specific kit module. Bond with Life: I'm not sure Driclae are obtainable. They don't seem to be hostile. You NEED the target to be below 50% HP or you can't bond. Also, the last time I tried finding a Driclae... I failed. I suspect the problem with the Mycelial rift drones is that you need to find a way to force enemies to stand in the goo. AIs are coded to "don't stand in stuff". But the rifts are telegraphed to make the AIs run away from them.

Try the Covert Assault Drone + Section 31 Heavy Rifle.
@Stu17013 жыл бұрын
I didn't use the Covert Assault Drone because, while it is called a drone, it doesn't function like one. It's really more like secondary weapon you can activate that fires when you fire your weapon. I have used that combo before and it is a nice, but I don't think CAD fits the pets theme of this build so I didn't include it here.
