Dr. Davis, you are a good listener. This was a longish interview and you never interrupted Dr. Perlmutter. I appreciate that style.

Dr Davies' positive introduction to Dr. Perlmutter and his book was well deserved. This book on uric acid is a real contribution to overall optimum health.

I watched a KZbin video a couple of years ago about a man who suffered from gout. He tried the usual remedies by first cutting down his intake of meat and then by stopping drinking alcohol. It was not until he removed fructose from his diet that the gout went away. I have a friend who manages her gout by drinking cherry juice.

I'm grateful for intelligent and trained healers in this world. What a gift, respect. Glad Peter Attia was mentioned too.

Peter is smart. He is working on being less of a smarmy jerk, which he admits he has been. I stopped listening to him a few years back and I’ve seen him recently and he’s improved.

The Quercetin/covid/uric acid link is interesting as some health practitioners are recommending quercetin in the treatment and/or prevention of covid. Great information. Thanks.

I've been using the UASure for like 3 years now. Ever since I went LHCF, cutting out all fructose, I started developing gout with Uric Acid levels of 10. I take 300mg of allopurinol per day (max dose) and it's around 5 allt he time now. I still eat LCHF diet. I might eat fructose once a year .. a little ice cream, breaking the keto / lchf diet for 1 day out of the year,.

I have a question about daily aspirin use as a preventative measure for heart attack or stroke. My elderly mother has been on aspirin for several years and I’ve never really understood how this can be a good thing. She always seems to have bruises, has not previously had heart attacks or strokes. The reason for the aspirin was, if she were to have an episode, she’d be asked if she was taking aspirin and, if the answer was “no”, then she’d be prescribed it as a first measure. In order to be ready for the step, the recommendation is to take aspirin so that if anything happens, she can move to the next step. This has never sounded like a good plan to me but, I’m not a doctor. Mum had a minor blood clot in her mid calf up until 2014, it disappeared after a hip replacement surgery and treated with specific medication. The blood clot has not recurred. It was the sort that wouldn’t travel but, it’s gone but, she’s been on daily aspirin in case she has any sort of episode that requires aspirin as the first step. What are your thoughts on aspirin as a preventative measure for the rest of one’s life?

I would like to know why our kidneys are equipped to reabsorb up to 50% of uric acid. Is it a metabollic waste? So why does it have to be reabsorbed? I think there are more things related to uric acid in our body that we still do not know...
lol @ "drop acid".. title. When I first heard it all I thought was "lower uric acid".. but that's what they called using LSD right? LOL. I think it's a great book title.

And like a typical doctor misses the fact that you need nutritional minerals to regulate blood sugar not a herb herbs were so important they would have to be all over the crust of the Earth every human being requires all the same nutritional minerals at about the same time there's five major minerals that help regulate blood sugar and probably four primary vitamins... But you need all 90 nutrients everyday

So he makes this claim about uric acid that is unsubstantiated. Then he backs it up with all the things that people have been saying for years. Your health is your responsibility and how healthy you are is the result of a constellation of different factors. Buy my book I need the money.

high fructose corn syrup, sodas and sweeteners cant be compared to fruit. fruit is a real food! if your starving and came across fresh fruits, you would be thankful. it has vitamins, mineral and fiber that the body recognizes.
@bobx10342 жыл бұрын
fruit is good, in balance-- what is fructose, but fruit sugar, and most will tell u that the flavanoids, fiber and vit c, in wpples. for example, can mitigate the fructose, but, still, too much fruit, along with its overabundance of fructose, which turns to uric acid, and u can have metabolic issues.
@fruitkid47592 жыл бұрын
@@bobx1034 this ain't true, our biology dictates what food is best for us and it resembles fruit eaters- sweet, colour, hands, teeth, need for vitamin c and simple carbohydrate for body to digest. Nature wouldn't make a species and then make its ideal food toxic for them, imagine a cow being told grass is toxic. We need fruits! Comparing fructose to fruit is like comparing olive oil to whole olives.
@bobx10342 жыл бұрын
@@fruitkid4759 again, u seem way off the track--"comparing fructose to fruit"???? fructose is fruit sugar, coming from fruit--and, if course, simply because u say that it's made by nature, so it's all ok, is just silly-- lots of things "made by nature" are not good for us, or must be used in moderation.
