This woman reminds me so much of my late mum. She'd never had a drink in her life, then she started drinking when her parents died, and was dead from cirrhosis within ten years. She behaved exactly like this woman when drunk, to the point its giving me chills watching this. My mum was the sweetest most beautiful woman before she started drinking, I miss her so so much.

I'm a recovering alcoholic/ addict n I relate to this woman so much. I was stubborn, in n out of ICU wt the alcohol toxicity level of .3-over .5. The .3 is comatose, beyond severe. Over .5 is legally dead. She needs to wake up before she dies. I pray she gets help for herself n for her family. She has a cunning, insidious disease that wants her dead.

Calling her a disgrace to the family wasn't right. What an idiot. That's not going to help her stop drinking. She'll probably want to drink more because he said that. He doesn't understand mental health. That's all alcoholism really is, it's a mental health struggle.

The thing is that until they can actually admit they are an alcoholic no amount of intervention is going to help. It will always be doing what they have to stay out of jail or keep a job but it's just to keep up appearances so they can do what they want. To them their drinking problem will always be someone else's fault. Their parents, their spouse, their kids, their friends, their boss. Every horrible thing they do isn't true because they can't remember it and the victims that do remember it are all liars in their minds so every terrible thing they do or say about those victims is justified them. It's like being a chemical narcissist.

This is all just messed up. First of all, it's not just that she needs to "straighten up". She has a disease, chemical dependency, and she needs help and not someone to yell at her or a person from the family to publicly humiliate her. Dr Phil is all about the show and drama and not about professionality. And today we shouldn't even use the word 'alcoholic' anymore. It is a wide spectrum and people who don't even drink a lot can have an alcohol drinking problem. The woman doesn't need to be shamed but helped. First with the proper mindset, sobering, diet, physical activity, and day by day she can get better.
@skippy675 Жыл бұрын
Everyone certainly has the right to do with their life what they wish. As long as she doesn't drive, let her drink away. We will all die relatively soon, 100 seconds from now or 100 years from now is basically nothing compared to eternity.
