I’ve seen these two before. The issue genuinely goes deeper than the son being trans and the mom being conservative. They have some deeply rooted issues between the two of them and always have. I think they both need really deep emotional/mental therapy for themselves and then together. Their relationship is salvageable, but they have to do the work as individuals above all else. As a mother of a daughter, I would not endorse my daughter doing what he is doing. He isn't carrying himself like a classy transwoman. The sexuality is an additional issue for her. How can people also not understand how she might be grieving the loss of her son and everything she imagined when she gave birth to him. Sure you should love and support your kids but is she allowed to hurt over it. She doesn't have the right to choose for him or mistreat him but feeling a loss is understandable. It is scary enough to parent an AA child without the worry of one more target on their back.
