I can imagine someone bringing a pound or half of weed on the series behind the scenes, considering they're literally made to stay in those quarters for months on end during the recording (was gonna write 'shooting') stage of production. Contestants aren't allowed to leave the premesis during filming and the entire season is shot in one continuous phase. I am not sure about hell's kitchen but in other series for instance MasterChef contestants aren't even allowed supervised access to the internet so to avoid the contestants from learning new recipes online in order to keep the competition fair they aren't even allowed to carry their smartphones, tabs, laptops etc. There is the stage before the filming is comment where the production team visit the future contestants at their personal residences to record short promos intros and it's common knowledge who the contestants for the upcoming season are. This information is hardly a secret and is often made available to the public, specially the media for promotional purposes. There's an intensive auditioning process through which the potential contestants get acquainted with each other. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of stoner is exchange contact information with each other during the audition before the filming commences and one of them decides to score and the rest of them pitch and end up bringing their stash in massive quantities and sneaking it into their living quarters. They do have fun at their dorm like suites where they have pool, hot tub parties with the limitless supply of booze and cigarettes. Anyway, it might just be possible but highly unlikely. Even if someone does manage to sneak some of their stash into their living space, it'd only be possible with a minute quantity.
