(1967) Parapsychologist Dr. Peter Guthrie is called to Collinwood to assess Elizabeth's condition. He concludes that she in a trance caused by an extreme case of mental trauma.

KRex1961 Excellent! I am glad that Carolyn finally agreed to have Liz moved. Who cares whether that places David further under Laura's control, is he really all that worth saving? The kid changes loyalties and pits people against one another like there is no tomorrow!

David's fate is pretty important. Vicki and Liz are the two people preventing him from becoming completely psychotic, and he's the future of the Collins family as the heir to the family fortune. Given that Laura herself is a tad psycho, ff she does win custody over David, he will very likely become the most terrifyingly dangerous character on the show.

Dr. Guthrie is one of the coolest character's from DS and deserved his own spin-off series.

***** Frank said that Dr. Guthrie taught at Dartmouth. Whoa, that is all the way over in western New Hampshire, and Collinsport is way over in eastern Maine. How did he get there so fast?

I was watching The Lucy Show this morning, and they had Pat Collins The Hip Hypnotist on her show. I remember seeing her on talk shows in the 60s. Thought about it when he said she was under hypnosis. They should have had her on this show once. She was a Collins.

I know what you mean, its got me in a "trance", I love this show. One of my first recollections was my mother ironing dads shirts while she had this on. I was born in 1965, so the music is a very early recollection, as well as the later color episodes. I'm trying to watch them all!
