DTS S3 ep 30 Mantt windshield review

Today I give you my initial thoughts on the Mantt DR650 windshield. This is a value priced windscreen I purchased off of Amazon with my own money for around $95.00 Canadian.
Overall I really like the product but you will have top watch the review to hear all my thoughts on it.

A very good video with the important points relating to a windscreen for a motorcycle covered very well. A windscreen on a DR 650 is essential in my opinion but not one that stops all the air reaching the rider. Your points about air coming around the side of the screen and being directed to vents on a riding jacket are very good and important. Some air going to the rider and on the helmet is necessary for comfortable and enjoyable riding. The screen looks good on the DR and from your review would be good for all seasons riding. My DR without any screen stuffed tons of air right up under my chin and into the bottom of my helmet. No big deal till i got up to 60 or so. A little wind screen made it great to ride at higher speeds and i can still run some off road sections easy. Great video Dino.

Good morning M.Tinker. I installed a Bajaworx windshield on my Suzuki DRZ 400 several years ago. The Drz uses the same headlight cowl as your DR 650. I ride the DRZ almost exclusively on road at speeds ranging from 60 - 110 kph and wanted some extra wind protection. I am 5' 9" tall and my initial impression was that it made minimal difference to the constant wind blast. However, my long term impression after riding with it installed for many thousands of kilometers and then removing the windshield and riding without it is that the wind load on my upper body was reduced significantly when installed. No helmet buffeting to report aside from normal wind blast. Verdict? I reinstalled the windshield and will leave it on indefinitely. Your Mantt windshield is much less expensive and a better value to perform the same function.

Great review Dino! So many variables that cause turbulence.... often it's wind coming from below and up around the tank... which no windscreen is going to solve.... but helmet, torso height, jacket, shoulder width, helmet/neck seal.... etc. I have the same windscreen on my 2018. Got it on sale in the fall for $70! Great screen, and mounts solidly.

Ive been waiting for this review!Great to hear you're pleased with it. I'm thinking about buying one and cutting it down to about where the front brake line sits, and tilting it forward with some spacers on the bolts. Mainly to give some protection for my phone, but if there's some light wind reduction on the chest, that would be a bonus. I enjoy all your vids, but i do come here for DR650 content, so ill be hanging out for your Spring! (Thats Autumn/Fall down here) keep up the great work!

Thanks Dino! Good to hear that this windscreen is working for you. Have you noticed any appreciable change in wind noise? I run a Parabellum on my DR and I think that it actually increased the noise at my helmet.
