Thanks for such a great video on how to make a duck filtration system. I do have a question though; what size drill bit did you use on the 1 and 2 inch uniseals?

The 1 inch uses a 1 and 3/4 drill bit, the 2 inch uses a 2 and 3/4 inch hole saw. Make sure you use a hole saw not a wood bit. Drill backwards and about 1/2 speed. That will make sure you have a uniform circle and everything is watertight. Make sure you send us the link of the video when you are done!

We do run it 24/7 and the impact was minimal

How would you clean out the rain barrels? Would there not be a large amount of waste/debris in the rock and filter medie.

There’s an exit drain attached very little to the barrel to drain it out and drain out the food stuff and we figure out once a year will totally disassemble it and clean the filter media this is been running for several months now and not an issue at all. We also have a pre filter to get the bigger stuff.

building a system very similar to yours and struggling to find a suitable inline pump. can you tell me what pump you used? hard to find one that is not solely for clean water

There is no media in the second. We will be redoing the system soon, keep watching!

Still running good. We have to clean out the filtration system about once a quarter. I am going to modify the system to try to get it so we only have to clean it once every six months.

@@TheBowserJournal is there anything else you've done to it thus far or are you still using the same filter and pump? I was thinking of using this idea for my ducks ! But I was wondering if I'm able to use these 50gal totes.. not real sure about that much.

@@highyena7315 The original pump burned out and I replaced it with an identical unit. It must have been a defective unit.
