Keep in mind that Int and focus gems are bugged right now, the Amber Gem (Focus) is especially bugged to the point where the conversion rate is terrible. As for the Int gems, they're good but only really for Rapier and Musket because those weapons have secondary scaling off Int already so you can basically double dip.

My biggest complaint with new world right now is that I really want to have a weapon and life staff but if you're going to invest into healing and you want it to be good you pretty much have to put as many points as you can into it first which would make your other weapon mostly obsolete

Sword/ice gauntlet makes the best tank. Ice gauntlet had a passive that let's you block pretty much forever - even heavy attacks. You also don't lose aggro when entombed.

Really hope AGS addresses the Hatchet issues in the Throwing tree. I'm so lost on how i should place my attributes and what alternate weapon combo to run with Throwing Hatchet, as the attribute breakpoints dont benefit throwing hatchet at all. They dont scale with light attacks, for some bizarre reason, and arn't affected by the 5% bonus gains to it - nor are they increased by the DEX breakpoint increase to Thrust damage bonuses - where is this spec supposed to fall, i wonder?

Throwing axe is ranged slash attack like repeater. They scale off weapon damage ie str 90% dex 10% split. They aren’t broken. Scale into str and const.

@@harrys2331 im aware of how they scale, and how they don't. For example, they do NOT scale from the STR stat breakpoints that buff light attack/heavy attacks - which is just absurd. Should scale from light attacks at the very least, like literally every other weapon attack does in the game.

@@Bman24641 That's obvious because they aren't light or heavy attacks. And not every weapon attack does that, for example fire staff life staff and bow skills don't benefit from light attacks. Maybe it's only ranged weapons/skills that don't benefit from light attack modifiers/heavy attack modifiers.

I'm Greataxe + Warhammer main. I'm def gonna have 100 con + 50 dex + rest STR for endgame. Using a mix set to have heavy armor def and medium armor dodge... Currently using 100 con + rest STR for Leveling and with these weapons lifesteals I can mob train stuff and aoe them down. (The extra CON is needed cause you don't want to be squishy while pulling lots of monsters with pvp mode on, cause shit happens).

Can't answer for him, but I guess it depends on your playstyle. If you're more into playing long range and just use the hatchet when you can't avoid close combat, dexterity will be more important. But, if you're more into going in their face and slap them with the hatchet while doing a little bit of damage with musket, then constitution will be quite important and the 150 dex threshold of course

I have an idea 💡 but am curious as to how the attributes will scale. To make a long story short: hatchet/bow with gems that convert physical damage to magic damage. I'll use hatchet as an example. How will the hatchet scale? Will it get benefits from strength (.9), dexterity (.65), and INT (???) and what percentage for int?

Duke can you help me with Muskeet &Firestaff. Basically I want to grab the Fire staff burn extra passives, but Musket has dex as primary and int as secondary. If I boost Int the musket damage goes down, but if I invest all to Dex than the Fire staff would look pointless as second weapon. What would you suggest, why they build musket this way?

I currently run Rapier/spear with 270 Dex and 160 Constitution so I can make it 300/200 with buff food. Before I was going for 300/130 but especially against melee STR players the constitution (crit reduce, more armor) of 200 feels really nice. I have not tested it too much yet, but even with 270/160 your damage feels pretty similar to 300 dex (The crit after dodge feels more needed on Bow/musket). Sadly for Wars/Invasions Spear/Rapier is not really nice2use, but its a ton of fun in outpost rush and open world pvp when you are sick Strenghts builds aka. easy mode.

You can actually go mostly int with a magic gem conversion with 15% more elemental damage threshold then put some into str for the 10% heavy attack with hammer at this point youll be doing more damage prob with the magic damage while still being pretty bursty with the musket

As a tank i like to dump 100 con and 50 dex. Gear will not give me dex and a lot of keenly perks are rly good. Plus taking the sword passive +10% crit change gives me even more. The last 40 pts will be unspent till i know what gear i will get to get the both, the next str and con threshold bonus.

I have been theorycrafting on my own character, your videos helped me a lot. I am runing warhammer and LS, my idea is to do the next: 50 into CON for extra HP and 20% extra healing for potions. 100 into STR to get two milestones and the most scale value ( 146% ). 150 into FOCUS to get the 20% healing milestone and a good chunk of scaling ( 146% + 58% ) with amber gem. I think this is the most optimal way to build my character as a bruiser who can heal himself for a decent amount ( or even an ally ). 150 FOCUS vs 100 STR allow me to get the focus scale with amber gem ( IV Gems scale with 80% of the attribute as you said in another video ), and if I could reach more attributes with gearing, I would try to reach 200 focus to get the 20% extra buff time

That would work best for a bit of scaling with both, but I don't think it's preferable. The int perks aren't that great for them and dex perks generally have a lot of nice utility

I never went past 250con and i tanked everything in the game. Lazarus is pain and the myrkgard captains can hurt but they're easy to predict so you can just potion up to help your healer. Can't go full con, I don't see the benefits

A bruiser is someone who deals more damage than ranged dps by staying alive for longer because they can also take hits and need to spend less time dodging mechanics. They trade off some dps for survivability, and they work great with self regenerating abilities, so they can make sure the healer can focus on healing the tank. There are many benefits to being a bruiser. One of which is it's definitely the most self-sufficient class in any MMO. They deal damage by trading blows instead of dodging, and they usually come out on top because of regeneration. Greatest example is the Hatchet + Great Axe build, which offers a lot of in-your-face damage along with regeneration. Would recommend medium armour for this class because your crowd control buff is not good enough to warrant heavy armour, and you don't want to take extra damage with light armour.

Imo, you should def get 50 dex for axe+hatchet pair. Great axe has a passive that heals on crit attack so you’re gonna want that crit bonus from 50 dex bracket.

I'd say ranged because of the better dexterity scaling. Bruisers are much more tanky than the usual melee dps though, and typically are in the think of the fray.

In my opinion , full Kon For full Tank is a Bad choice. Sure, more live is good to survive more abilitys Specialy in pve but the best steps end whit 200 Points. To clear a Dungeon or be usefull in PvP you Need DMG, the 3,5k HP more is Not worth to loose so much DMG. A Tank have a tower Shild and max 200 Kon. For me.
