I watch and loved this video Dulevoz, I never heard about this enormous train rail in length through SERBIA, so it was so interested to follow the locomotive driver who recorded this nice video to show us everything what he passed through this nearly 100 km long tracks. I watch the trees and branches which grows so besides the tracks that they can damage or scatch the trains when they passed through. But Delevoz, this video was so interested I never went or heard about Serbia, maybe thats why. I am watching from Paramaribo, rep. of Suriname

The view seems better in this direction. I can hardly believe that I travelled this route in the summer of 1986. Another world. I was 25 years old, on the sleeper train from Belgrade to Istanbul. We stopped at Nis in the afternoon. All seemed very spick and span then - no weeds on the track and I don't recall such slow line speeds. At the border at Svilengrad a huge Bulgarian customs officer entered the compartment and bellowed PASSPORT in the voice of an ogre. I nervously proffered mine, emblazoned as it was with the arms of an imperialist capitalist power. The ogre sat down next to me, squinting at it suspiciously; then he turned, dug me in the ribs with his elbow and, grinning from eat to ear, bellowed: EVERTON - THE GREATEST!

Yugoslav Railways were on a different level to company we have now, all tracks were well maintained, trains clean, schedule on time etc. Now by demand by foreign creditors they fired most of people that actually worked with trains and infrastructure, but kept all of those in offices who do nothing.

So no view n the Sićevo gorge or the Nisava valley, unfortunately. It's really a pity that this wonderful and important line is in such a pityful state.

The overgrown foliage is a real health and safety issue... I got struck several times by branches that were foul of the railway in my 40 year career, the last one hit my elbow, which was resting on the window ledge of the DMU I was driving at about 40mph/65kmh... it hurt so much had to be relieved and go to hospital for x rays, as I thought that I had broken my elbow.. fortunately, just badly bruised... something needs to be done about the foliage this winter when there are no nesting birds in the trees. I bet its a nightmare with the Autumn leaf contamination of the rails right now... all you need is a bit of light rain and its great fun trying to stop and start and even keep going, especially if you're ascending steep gradients with a heavy train... now happily retired... you make great videos

It is a shame that such deterioration has been permitted. Understood that Serbia is not exactly a cash-flush economy, but rampant vegetation of all kinds choking clickerty-clak rails, tired old wooden sleepers and derelict rail-side buildings are not designed to inspire welcome to potential visitors who may well, therefore, take their tourist dollars elsewhere.
@carick2354 жыл бұрын
It has nothing to do with lack of cash, but poor managment, you have people running Serbian Railways who just don't give a fuck about improving anything, it is without a doubt the worst state company of Serbia. For example they are building line Belgrade-Subotica for 200 km/h worth few hundred millions of euros, planning to upgrade Belgrade-Montenegro line, but that's because of politicans using big projects for self promotion, servicing tracks and trains is of no interest for them (they will rather wait to collapse and build from scratch) since it's not interesting material for media.

Wow, so impressive video! The route is beautyfull even with great vegetation courtain covering views up on many stretches, probably in spring and autumn this is better. You're right that this railway don't look like international corridor, probably the worst one in whole Europe, miracoulously kept alive... The forgotten stops without any infrastructure and neighbouring of new motorway in middle stretch are so sad and shows which mode of transport is really important for politics (and usual people?), just like in most of middle- & south-east Europe... How people cross the cargo train in Stanićene on 2:23:00? Max speeds are enormous, during this journey man can feel 50 kph like so high, but to be serious - line is a bit curvy, so even with modernization announced up to 120 kph on what part (half or less) will it be possible? Today line geometry allow 70-90 kph on many parts, but even this will be big progress together with new signalling and centralized control, and it will leave the station track systems with so little platforms and all this charm we can meet today only in Balkans ;) Now in 2022 the line is without traffic even when the works are postponed again - is it because of technical death of some structures? Which way is rerouted cargo traffic to Bulgaria?

During times of stress, I find such videos so relaxing to watch. And while I would far prefer to actually be on one of those journeys, this is the next best thing under the terrible circumstances our governments have needlessly created for us. Maybe you covered this question elsewhere and if so, I apologise for asking. I am curious about the difference in speed limits. For example Vmax100 but Vlimit70? Why not just have Vmax70 as presumably you can never do 100 in that section. Also curious what the difference is between Vlimit70 and Vslow order 70.

Hi, you have videos of interesting lines. Problem is that they do not run smooth (they stick and jump) which makes them impossible to watch. You could work a bit on the issue and resolve it. Another way to improve it is the camera set up. You could play with settings and find a bit ''warmer'' color set up with more orange/yellow/bright tones instead of grey/blue/black note ones. It is much more pleasant to watch this kind of color set up videos. Both improvements would add to the video quality. This refers more and less to all your videos. Stay well.
