An excellent day dumpster diving and treasure hunting in all kinds of garbage! Found some scrap metal to recycle for money, a bit of bottles and some cool stuff for the house! Plus.. one of my best finds yet in an alley!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3jrO2iS
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)
Please like/share this video if you enjoyed it, and subscribe to thubprint!

You can find some good scripts from pharma's in there. You shoulda nocked on the door to inquire about that old pick up truck..... how about using a quiet plastic wheelbarrow for some of those long jaunts... beautiful raspberries too... That Calgary Pennant is a collector item. $100 - 150. USD.... That kid who owns that bike is at the Bike Shop getting the tire repaired. Good call on that one. I love your content and attitude.

Any chance you could make a video on what items you consider most profitable and items you’d pass on? I know many of your videos are a collection of exactly that but I figured it’d be helpful to those who just want to get started fast and not waste allot of time and resources on garbage. This is kind of my side hobby to afford my blacksmithing hobby. I found on my journey to find tool steel or something I could use as a welding project(another support hobby)many people will give it away for free but they tend to have more metal(that I do not want)they wish to be relieved of all at once, so I figured I’d make my scrap yard visits profitable rather than costly.
@thubprint
@thubprint 2 жыл бұрын
That’s a cool idea, I’ll totally do that vid! If you’ve got a truck or something similar though, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t just haul everything away for them
@aaronbuchholz4184
@aaronbuchholz4184 2 жыл бұрын
Well I have a long answer but I’ll try to keep it brief. If someone has something I could use I have no problem taking everything that’s there. The problem is even being a minimalist I have very little room to store unneeded material. So I could just go scrap it but the yards around here don’t pay much if anything like microwaves they take but you get nothing unless broken down. So my solution is to pickup profitable items near by my main pickup so I don’t lose $ I could use to just buy steel. Thanks for the reply, I know you have allot to of comments to get to so it’s much appreciated. I also appreciate what you do to try to make the world a better place.

my dear friend, i'm also a scrap collector, and my country is Greece, although we're not as rich as Canada, but we don't collect coca cola cans, and plastic bottles, first of all you have to save a lot of space and no money in the end, And certainly not plastic bottles our litter boxes are a bit bigger, like six blue ones, for example we have green ones for groceries and blue ones for everything else like electric, cartons, clothes, cable, TV, stereo, all of that, but we Greeks are a bit indifferent, and we mix everything up sometimes you find coca cola cans full to the brim, but it's not worth it because you have to take every can in your hand and flatten it, otherwise you have to have a truck and only transport cans for 10 cents a kilo I also exchanged my car, I had an Isusu cambo pickup but the diesel is now 2.15 euros because you can't make any money I bought a small truck car Italy produced it's called Casalini Kerry, it has 530cc two cylinder diesel engine consumption 3 liters at 100km, with Isusu 15 liters at 100km I swapped three engines, why? I only turn off the engine when I get to my house at the end of the day 6-8 hours of work small diesel engines cannot last that many hours I'll tell you some prices that we have here, and much simpler Tin 15 cents, iron 17 cents, cast iron, 20 cents fridge, kitchen, ect. 15 cents alou profile [ windows, doors] 1e alou soft [ pots, alou sheet, castalou ] 70 cents inox 50cent, lead, and batteries 50cent, bruss 2.5 e cable [christmas lights and small cable ] 25cent cabel thick as of electronic devices, vacuum cleaners and so 50 cents very thick cable 1e copper burned the plastic burnt 3e copper from 5.5 to 7e everything is for kilo I wish you health, watch out for Covit 19 it's not all over yet

On my bottle and can runs, I meet many appreciative people. I feel great about what I do.

I honestly love the picking runs, and I found most people are perfectly respectful and often helpful. The grumpy ones are rare, which makes it especially strange the way they act like they speak for everybody. Those exceptions aside, picking reminds me of all the things I love about people and how much I have to be grateful for. It’s funny like that!

Man we only get a nickle and that's for only a few items , soda bottles and cans beer bottles and cans. The tea and water containers no. I Guess we have enough room in our landfills for certain bottles and cans but not others. I could send you millions of water and tea bottles.
