That dryer cord was prob too small(light like yah said), looked like it got hot. When cords have that twisted look n are not smooth(best way I can describe it), sometimes that means they got a bit hot and a larger one should have been used. See it on cheap/small gauge extension cords sometimes.

I don't really take apart washer n dryers anymore, the motors 99% of the time have aluminum windings. But the antique washer n dryer in that house, plus the old deep freezer would more than likely have copper windings in the motors. Also,at the 22:32 mark. That is I think a 7pin plug for trailer lights & trailer brakes. Small trailers use the flat 4 or 5 pin,but that you had in your hands was for heavy-duty trailers. Anywho..thanks for taking us along & happy treasure hunting

I heard some iphones fetch about 400 from the machines. The only requirement is showing photo id and face scan. Our is US only, don't know if there is a canadian equivalent. you can always hoard them and make a day trip to the us and hand them to a friend as a US ID is required.

I started wood scrapping like 6 years ago. Most construction and home builders LOVE people removing and using scrap wood. It helps keep waste to a minimum AND helps extend the time before needing a haul off. What brand was the chest freezer? I would believe it still works, but not efficient.
@thubprint10 ай бұрын
I think it said RCA, if I remember correctly? You might be surprised about the efficiency though, those older freezers and fridges are usually more efficient than modern counterparts because they don’t have a heater for a built-in defrost cycle. Most people are happy to sacrifice a bit of energy efficiency for not having to unload everything onto the floor and defrost the unit once a year though lol

You got any advice for someone starting out on KZbin with there hobby scrapping as I’m just starting out
@thubprint10 ай бұрын
Tough to say, the landscape has changed since I started my channel so what worked for me probably wouldn’t work for you anymore. I would say focus on creating value for your audience, figure out why you think they should watch you and do everything you can think of to deliver on that. Quality is more important than quantity these days. A KZbinr is more interesting when they are a person who does something interesting already and then they decide to share videos about it. Don’t just start scrapping because you want to be a KZbinr, scrap metal is a very populated niche and the maximum views a video can get is not very high.
@rixismetals10 ай бұрын
@@thubprint thank you for the reply , I love all of your videos , I like taking things apart it helps me unwind and relax and lowers my anxiety while doing it ,I thought about KZbin mostly to share my love for stripping things down and my journey doing what I like doing , you ,ewaste Ben and BYB are my top 3 KZbinrs ( your top of the 3)
@thubprint10 ай бұрын
@@rixismetals thanks so much man, I’m glad you’re here and I appreciate the question! I’m not trying to say you can’t do it, I have no doubt there are scrapper KZbinrs who will hit hundreds of thousands of subs who haven’t even started yet. All im saying is, look at the top dogs: Mike the scavenger and bigstackd. They get loads of views, but both of them are more scrap-adjacent and make videos that have an appeal to a wider audience. You don’t have to be a scrapper to be intrigued by what this guy finds in a dumpster, or watching a pile of copper melt into a pool of molten metal. If you can look at those two and figure out why it works for them and not for so many others, and implement it, then you’ve got a channel.

I would have kept the two Narcan cases and vapes stuff. Don't know what the laws are in canada are concerning depensing the medicine itself but those cases as containers alone are worth some value to collectors. It's one of those items that you need to bulk order like 5K at a time to get. Like 1st class gift bags. Found one at goodwill for 3 bucks and bought. Forgot to pack it on my last flight though. The hack is that airline staff are subconsciously trained like dogs. 50/50 chance they see it you'll get an upgrade out of habit.
