@@FoundationalDD-eb8qm Seems the Queen of Thieves wanted to place a large order from the Amethyst Academy via Wrath and River's dad, and he had some form of reanamatta battle automatons (and also the Eldritch cannons). Freed had control over the battle automotons that had been made from the Duke's staff - so that was probably just Freed, not something the academy produced. The Duke was working in league with Freed and had been ordering military supplies from the Academy (but falling short in funds, and the academy uncharacteristically gave him stuff in advance of payment). Just seems Wrath and River's dad would be the most obliging of the known academy directors to help the Duke. Freed ultimately became his own big brain entity, so, if he ever was in touch with Wrath and River's dad, it would seem their paths diverged. Maybe it is just a coincidence since they both worked on/work on reanamatta of sorts, and their goals aligned with an apparent common enemy (Wilhelm).

Sorry to mention this, maybe I misunderstood something. Isn’t PB for CR8 creatures set at +3? Reautomata has a +4, but it is usually given to at least CR9 monsters.

We are still in early drafts. The CR on them has changed multiple times. That may have been an oversight for this release, but consider all stat blocks in early alpha at this point.
