Someone needs to make a spreadsheet with all the scores of all the knives that DBK have tested and put it on a website or something so we can see the "best" knife that DBK received according to overall score.

Putting a 12-13 degree angle on the shoulder (meeting the primary grind)and convexing to a 17 degree angle at the apex makes this knife into a godly beast in spite of the price. The change in blade geometry makes it much nicer to both feather stick and chop with.

Try the Cold Steel Pendleton in CPM-3v it’s one of my favorite knives and for ~65$ usd I think it’s one of the best choices for a small yet very capable knife for an amazing price with an awesome steel and an excellent spine for fire steels. I believe it’s criminally underrated and punches far outside of its price range. I’d love to see how you and others think about it!

To tell you the truth, I like the channels as they used to be at their beginings, where money and profit. hadn't got in the way. Money always destroy everything, because it brings greediness along with many more problems to people. I really miss the old days.
@alaskaraftconnection-alask33974 жыл бұрын
Good stuff guys!!! Yep... just looking at your footage, I'd have to say a gainful versatility factor. If we directly translate Puukko = general purpose belt knife. Traditional blade features are: primary grind is same to the apex edge without any secondary bevel, and a flat spin that does not necessarily have to be sharp, among other things. Basics of traditional wear are essentially Finnish EDC for Puukko. I see this as more modern field-knife genre than to view it as Leuku. That is just marketing I suppose. Leuku is larger and taller so they got that right... nevertheless traditionally Leuku are much closer to an 8" blade on up to darn near short machete length like the Benchmade Jungle Clip point in size/purpose. Two Benchmades I do like... that you guys may consider showing are Mel Pardue, and Saddle Mountain.
@aireydc4 жыл бұрын

Some reviews are saying that the 3V on this knife is much softer than 3V on other knives. Has this been your experience?
@DutchBushcraftKnives4 жыл бұрын
The older 200 puukko's are supposedly softer but tougher. They should have increased the hardness to 60 HRC from 58 HRC. 60hrc is a good standard for CPM-3V
@kmopm7774 жыл бұрын
@@DutchBushcraftKnives As someone who has bought this knife... There is a lot of people saying that even this one is way softer than it should be. That as a knife is overall worse than the Garber. I don't expect this knife to perform as well as a much expensive bark river. But it should be better than cheaper counterparts. Being honest all of those bad reviews got me worried. I think besides of me, a lot of people would really enjoy a video comparing the leuku with the garber and other cpm3v steels

Disappointed there wasn't an edge retention test. I have the 200 puukko and it loses its edge faster than an old Blackjack Grunt I have in Aus-8 steel. I have no idea what the Rockwell hardness is, but I'm genuinely curious if this is an issue with all their 3v knives or if I just got a lemon.
@DutchBushcraftKnives4 жыл бұрын

@@DutchBushcraftKnives That would certainly explain the problem. Ka-Bar Mark 1 with Kraton (for anything!). Victorinox Rucksack (for Hiking,backpacking,camping etc Ethan Becker agrees). Alox models, are better for the outdoors,thus IMHO the best is the Harvester (better than the farmer) Mora Bushcraft Black (for bushcraft, best knife for making a fire!) Manly Drugar in CPM154 (for camping, best companion knife) Lionsteel M4 with Micarta (best handle on the market,literally perfection. Bad thickness behind the edge but it can be fixed,not the best heat treat but still a great knife for the money, better than the 200 Puukko). Best urban edc multitool combo, Spirit X with the Explorer. Best do it all Survival knife, Becker BK 7. Best handforged steel ballbearing steel,great for ether bushcraft or hunting knives. Best knife for special forces (police or military) mainly for Urban senarios, Gerber Strongarm. Best hard use multitool for your job Swisstool X or any other Swisstool you think fits better!
@greekveteran27154 жыл бұрын
PS (Leathermans break,rust, generally don't last much, either offer the utility,a Vicotrinox does offer,they have more tools-functions along with the higher quality) A good heat treat, is what you want on a knife, not a famous steel. Steels are great, different steels have their own uses, but heat treat plays a huge role, that may destroy any steel, if it's not a good one. Full flat grinds and slightly convexed edge bevels, are the best. Saber grinds are great, only if you pry with your knife, if you want to cut, choose full flat. Ease of sharpening, is much more prefarable, than edge retention. Benchmade quality controls is not what it used to be.along with Falkniven, are overpriced knives. I spent tons of money, time and tests, to come to these cocnclusions. Hope my efforts, help you, see the truth, in times, that marketing complexity and lies, have covered the truth!
