DWe Drums - Unbox & Review *WIRELESS DONE RIGHT!*

Today we wanted to upload something to showcase DW's new electronic drums and what we think about it. We unbox everything that comes with the full 5 piece package including hardware, and give it a go at the end after our initial thoughts. Give us a follow and let us know what else you'd like to see!

They are now selling the wireless hub separately, so you can buy the cymbals and hub, but no the wireless drum trigger assemblies, yet.

Hopefully since this is Roland's baby they won't force everyone to be stuck with a DW kit they don't need or want.

I’m sure this is already in the works. Too much demand for this I imagine lots of people have this thought and too much $$ to be made

I would be great if you guys could do a hi-hat comparision with the DWe, Rolands digital hi-hat and all of the others brands. When playing ekits with rubber rim protectors, yes the rim is quieter but they stop your stick getting damaged from rimshots. I think the DWe kit should come with rubber rim guards so the mesh heads don't get all ripped up. I think the DWe should come with a line of rubber cymbal as well as a line of quieter low volume alloy e-cymbals so practicing can be allowed at home.

when do you guys think youll release your video reviewing the kit as an acoustic rather than electric? ive been super curious to hear how it sounds as an actual acoustic one but most reviews only talk about it as an Ekit

Hopefully in the next few weeks it’s in process. Just have a few other videos in the works then will do that one next.

You know what's funny? With The price of this DW kit we only can buy a Alesis Nitro here in Brazil.

The cost to import is very high we agree. We just did a quote for a customer and the taxes and customs fees were very very high. We hope Brazil lowers this as it has be harder to get good edrum gear there because of that.

I’ll definitely looked into the cymbals but will opt for the sensory percussion triggers on an acoustic instead!

i think another reviewer had mentioned some response issue and they released a firmware patch pretty quick that fixed it.....dont know if its specifically this problem though so sorry if i am wrong

It seems geared to be a great studio set up but not so much live how would you go about sending front of house the individual lines for mixing it seems you'd have to spend quite a bit more coin to send those lines from a laptop and the laptop boot up time wouldnt be ideal in a change over situation unless you are opening or headlining but then that to me defeats the porpose of saving time being wireless i dont know not trying to nit pick its just for the price point it seems to be a bit one trick pony studio kit with live use as an after thought

Sounds like absolute GARBAGE! VSTi's absolutely DESTROY this. Esepcially for the ABSURD price. What an absolute monumental failure!
