Dylan Moran's Unique Take On Religion & Politics | What Is It | Universal Comedy. 2135pm. 11.11.23. he's not wrong, y'know.... a mass panic, formalized hysteria...replete with a few bemused folk looking at the architecture...frowning at the mass hysterical disdain for one's lack of belief....

Yep. That's a good one. "Kjølig" is a Norwegian word for chill or cool. In one village/town called Oppdal, people use "kjøle" as an expression for very/intense. So you have this phrase "det æ ikke meldt kjøle varmt i morgen". "Varmt" being warm. So the whole thing means "the forecast says it's not going to be very warm tomorrow", but the word for very sounds like the opposite of warm. It's one of those things that made me realize how fun dialects, and language in general, can be.

A lot of things he is saying resembles my own thoughts when I was depressed and had an existensial crisis. I also realised during that time that most people never actually prepare themselves for death mentally, but rather choose to distract themselves until it actually happens, resulting in more anxiety and regret at the moment of death.

Nice! Spinning honest observations into comedy. Religion is a bad adult fable and it's unhealthy to have false beliefs. It's much better to learn, evolve and put your faith in the truth. Seek professional help, if necessary. Live your best - honest - life.
@nomadsteve5297
@nomadsteve5297 6 ай бұрын
It does truly take a long time to shake off religion, as brainwashing from a young age can be very difficult to overcome, but once you get to the point where you can question everything that you are told and not accept faith as a answer to your question, then you will see the bullshit that religion truly is and life is truly much better without it.
@samkeen
@samkeen 5 ай бұрын
@RobVespa forgive me for being a little bilious, but you’re offering pop life advice in a Dylan Moran comment section, so you’ve asked for it really. Living my “honest life” means asking you the following: what can we determine as truth? What if we live in a simulation and have no access to base reality? Or if we aren’t intelligent enough to comprehend real truth? We have no bloody clue what’s going on. “Put your faith in what we hope is truth” isn’t as catchy as the candy floss simplicity you’re offering, but it’s more accurate.

It’s humor, I get it. But… - evolution explains how species came about - it does NOT propose that man came from monkeys, only that the lineage of humans and that of monkeys came from a common ancestor - biogenesis, the origin of life, has theories and we have explained where the building blocks came from, but since we can’t duplicate it we can’t be certain…at least for now
