You're not alone DW 6 is also my favorite way back 14 years ago since I played it. Unfortunately I don't have my own console that time and I needed to resort in rent 2 play, the Jailbreak version is corrupted I only finished The Battle Changban Po and then the game shutdown. It is the very first warriors game I played and the most Nostalgic.

@@UltimateChanceNope DW 6 is my favorite also among those titles because it brings me back to my teenage years. I was only 1/3 of the musou mode when the game stopped. Because of that game I fell in love with Beat em Up. I even collected Wave 1 and Liu Bei of Three Kingdoms Funko Pop. The game is far from being called a good one but that title many despises is the one I love the most in the series.

I'm all for this order, DW3 is my favourite but I think realistically the best of the classic era is DW5 and it's definitely just slightly behind DW3 for me it's fantastic.

Loved 3 and 4. Then Tried 6 and completely stopped trying all future games. I remember playing a classic character in 6 and they didn’t have their original weapon and I was like Hell naw. But I think I’ll buy 8 now. Would like to see a tier list for the spin offs like berserk, one piece etc

I agree with thenplacements as well. But i didnt play dw6 or dw7 so i have no comment. DW3/DW4/DW5 are the ones me and my cousin put in hours. DW4 was probably my favorite because they added Zhou tai (my favorite)

Id love to see an Samurai Warriors / Anime Musou vid at some point, i never did get around to playing any of the Gundam ones and for some reason i always found the Samurai Warriors games not as fun as DW. Id like to go back at some point and give some of those games a good run. I feel like i didnt put enough time into DW 5 to rank it but my favorite would have to be DW 4, it was the game that really got me into the franchise and i just fell in love with the setting and the gameplay not to mention playing split screen with my cousin. That game made me a Shu Kingdom Boy. 2nd fav is probably DW 7, the gameplay was really good but it was the story and music that got me. DW 7 probably has my favorite interpretation of the three kingdoms story. It felt cinematic and sweeping and when characters died i actually felt something for em due to how it was portrayed. Loved the music too a lot of the tracks from that game like Epic Man and Hide Emotion are still in my game ost playlist. Hearing you talk about 8 makes me wanna check that out sometime this year.

I agree 6 is the worst, changing some weapons was a really bad move, but imo 7 is funnier than 5.

I played the first Dynasty Warriors on PS1 and then one of the PS2 ones, I enjoyed them both at the time, but never went back to the musou genre really. I did really like Omega Force's other Attack on Titan game, though.

I mostly agree with your ranking except I think 3, 4 and 5 share S-Tier, 2 would be B, and 6 is far better than 9.

@@UltimateChance I don't actually remember much of 6, but especially 9... it err... made my brain a bit numb? I recall the major performance issues it had, flawed logic when it came to battle structures, how poorly it played... but 6 on the other hand while it's gameplay wasn't great... it ran fantastic, battle structures and flow worked and oh... the music, the soundtracks of 6 are exceptionally good, some of the best in the series actually! I forgot about that. 6 Empires was a major redemption too.

Great rankings! I’m a huge fan of the series. Similar to you, I played these games growing up with my brother and we still play them to this day. Really got into 4 and 5. I actually have similar rankings but I’d put 8 in the S Tier and 9 below 6. I would much rather play 6 than that piece of shit 9. I stopped playing after like 30 min I was like “this ain’t DW” and played Warriors Orochi instead. Warriors Orochi 3 and 4 are amazing if you haven’t checked them out!

I think from dw 6 onwards it became a fashion show, like everyone dress like a supermodel or cosplayer, the open world gameplay is i think because of the success of spirit of sanada, which work for japan islands but for china mainland it's kinda tedious to go from city to city I think dw5 is the best, they just need to remake it, implement the mechanics of newer dw games like climbing ladder and interact with other things without changing the original gameplay and make more character models each for prominent figure in that history, they can fashion them anyway they want (just please don't let guan yu have spiky hair again)
